Here's a video about how camera has been used in Finland as a part of military training and war documenting. It doesn't have subtitles, but the footage might interest you: "Kuvaustoiminta Puolustusvoimissa 90 vuotta - Katsaus koulutuselokuvan vuosikymmeniin".
Thanks for sharing !!
Back in the early 1980's when I was a conscript in the Finnish coast artillery I had a good camera and volunteered to be a photographer for the yearbook of the Rannikkotykistökoulu, the school for conscripts to be trained coast artillery officers in the reserves. That was a very good position as it gave freedom to skip some of the drills and observe from another point of view what was going on in the training. Learned also how to develop films and make b&w photographs in the darkroom we arranged deep underground in a bunker. Taught me a lot of how to photograph fast action and overall was a fun hobby at the side of the more serious artillery training. And was of course rewarding to see some of the best photographs published. I can really relate to the guys that have filmed the video, must have been a lot of fun and a good job done.
@@sampohonkala4195 that must have been fun !
And the question about the MBT's.
Yes. FDF uses Leopard 2A6 as their MBT.
Great! Thanks for the clarification!
There is actually seen another variant of the RK on the video. RK95, Most notable for its foldable stock.
Had one of those when i was doing my part for the FDF. Great gun.
So it’s kind of like an M4, with a class of butt stuck. Awesome 🙂

A salvo is the simultaneous discharge of artillery or firearms including the firing of guns either to hit a target or to perform a salute.
Ahhh, I understand now. Thanks!
The rifle is a newer version of the RK62 called RK95 TP. Tho the RK62 is also in use still today. The anti tank "bazooka" that was shown is a 112mm Apilas.
Ah great, thank you!
Yes, and now RK62 is modernized, the new type mark is RK62M (under versions RK62M1, -M2 and -M3).

The only operators of Archer is Sweden , Ukraine and UK
@@KarILsson I didn’t realize that the UK actually used Archers
@@JustAnotherArmyVet British Army bought 14 Artcher FH77BW L52 (Artillerisystem 08) last year as replacement for the 32 AS90 artillery systems the U.K. gifted to the armed forces of Ukraine, and intending to buy 10 more to get a complete regiment.
The -22 and -21 combat camera videos are cool as well
Yes, I’ll have to add those to my list to eventually react to. Thank you!
In 2003, the Finnish Defense Forces bought 124 used Leopard 2A4 tanks from surplus German stockpiles to replace the aging Soviet-made T-55 and T-72 tanks. Conscript training with wagons began in 2004 in the Armored Brigade in Parola. In addition, Finland acquired 15 wagons as spare parts in 2009. In wartime organizations, tank companies belong to mechanized combat divisions and tank jaeger battalions operating with CV-9030.
In 2014, Finland made a decision to buy a hundred used Leopard 2A6 wagons from the Netherlands. They were delivered between 2015 and 2019. The price of the transaction was around 200 million euros. According to Suomen Sotila's information, the wagons had been upgraded to the 2A6 level to the so-called Mannheimer configuration; i.e. the hull still had the C-level protective armor of the 2A4 model, but the turret was the new 2A6 level. (Wikipedia)
Summa summarum, Finland bought lightly used, but in excellent condition, tanks from Europe when other countries were lowering their defenses. In the Netherlands, for example, there has been a lot of talk about the trade in question, because due to the changed world situation, they would now like them to be part of their own defense. On the other hand, now that we are in NATO, so are they.
A lot of used goods have been bought in Finland, such as, for example, 155 mm K9 Thunder Self-Propelled Howitzer from South Korea.
Used equipment can be just as good as new equipment sometimes 🙂👍

The Tank looks like a Leopard 2 A4 in Finnish service, to be upgraded.
Finland got the Korean K9 SP 155mm Howitzer and the K10 FAASV.
Very successful systems internationally, with 1700+ systems sold so far to Norway, Finland, Poland, Turkey, India, Australia, of course South Korea and I think few others.
The K9 tested in the US and the UK recently.
Its latest version the K9A2 has a fully automatic loading system reducing the crew to 3 from 5 and composite rubber tracks.

Ahh thanks!
The left Jet at 2:40 is an Eurofighter Typhoon. The other one a F/A 18 D maybe? 🤔
Thanks 🙂
The rifle with triangular stock is RK95 TP, TP meaning in this case folding stock. The latest version is the modified modernized RK62 M with variants M1, M2 and M3 which can easily be recognized from telescopic adjustable stock.
M1 and M2 variants are most commonly used, M1 being the all-purpose version and M2 being optimized for combat in built-up areas. M3 differs from M2 by having green cerakote finish and the option for a silencer. The new models have optics and rails for various gadgets.
Lots of ”traditional” basic RK62 rifles with tube buttstock are still in use for reservists. Sako is developing the new AR-based assault rifle for FDF. The issue of which caliber and ammunition it will use is still undecided and under testing but it will be most likely something that is used currently or future in NATO countries.
Thank you so much for your insight. Is it definitely a topic that I know almost nothing about. Lol
Im kinda sad that good old (literally very good) RK is being replaced.. :/
@@JustAnotherArmyVet heh, rk62 is best! When i was in in army my rifle was Rk62 - serial: 144744 andmade in jyväskylä's rifle factory in 1967 or 1968. The anti-tank weapon was probably the heavy single shot "bazooka" (yeah, I know bazookas are multishot, but what can I say, rocket launcher?) APILAS. These things are heavier and more powerful than your typical LAW rockets.
Thanks for your insight! I do appreciate it 🙂
Salvo fire = launchers/artillery start to shooting at the same time

The Baltic Sea is now officially "Lake NATO". God how I love they way Putin must no be feeling. Loses the control of one of the most important sea routes, doubles the length of NATO/Russia border, drives two high tech countries to join the alliance, makes the whole west hate him and Russia, sanctions, failure to seize Kiev in 3 days, not even 3 years. I welcome every single NATO base in Finland. Here in Eastern Finland I am used to hearing Russian as the primary foreign language spoken by other patrons in our shops, but I am looking forward to hearing NATO English and other NATO languages (German, French, Swedish, Norwegian, etc)...
Are there a lot of Russian tourists in Finland?
@@JustAnotherArmyVetThere used to be a lot, especially in Eastern Finland because of the common border. Now the sanctions and tightened regulations at the border has cut down the amount of Russians coming to our country, by quite a lot. Down side being the reduction in income for the local businesses, some of them being solely reliant on the tourism, and even one large shopping center literally went bankrupt because the Russians stopped coming, but the increased security is a value on its own. Russians have been buying realestate near important strategic locations like military bases, so the Kremlin most definitely is doing its best to spy on us and maybe even set up splinter cells.
@@SimoExMachina2 did all this happen because of the Ukraine war?
@@JustAnotherArmyVet Yes! It is the EU-sanctions imposed to Russia because of the Ukraine war. Russian retaliation was to send Third World illegal migrants to the Finnish border. I have seen pictures and videos of Russian border guards herding migrants towards the border. Apparently those migrants pay $5000-6000 to get to the border, cursed "humanitarian" organizations and their minions are whining that we must let all migrants in.
@@JustAnotherArmyVetUkraine was very definitely a boost in public opinion about joining NATO. It showed us the Russians hadn't changed at all.

@@JustAnotherArmyVet Port workers, chemical plants, oil refinery etc etc. The unions are really fighting and on strike.
Personally I've had enough of that union nonsense. It has gone too far.
Luckily I'm a nurse and a male, so I can pretty much work 24/7 if I want to. (Being male I mean, there is a shortage and need for males in this job here.) You know what I mean. It's good for patients and working environment to have both.
A few of the unions are on strike ("Industrial union", "Automobile and Transport Workers' Union", "Service union", "Construction union", "Union for the Public Sector and Welfare Areas" as well as the "Electricians' union". About 7000 people in total), because of the government's politics.
The government wants to limit strikes. There will also be deterioration in working conditions if the government gets what they want. They also want to cut a lot in the social security. I'm glad the Unions are standing up to the government, who have done a very poor job so far.
The ports have been standing still for a few weeks, which of course does nothing good to the economy. Now we might run out of fuel at the petrol stations...
The government has multiple times refused to do negotiations. but I do think they will be the first to bucle out of the two.@@JustAnotherArmyVet
Stop lying. This is all the government's fault. They could have ended the strikes weeks ago. All they're doing is harm, nothing good is coming out of it...
