Got tiago nrg 2024 for 8 lakh rupees on Road! TOP end model, kwid top end cost 7 lakhs.. for just 1 or 1.5 lakh more... you are getting a wayyyyy better car.
Got XUV 300 for 9.5 lakhs. For just 1.5 lakh more got a much bigger and better car than tiago NRG.

Couple of reasons why I think such small cars are absolutely required.
1. In very tight bylanes I've encountered bigass buses and trucks coming from the opposite direction, and with sedans and large hatchbacks it is just a headache to pass such tricky situations. But with a small cars, it becomes really stress-free.
2. Parking is getting tougher with each passing day and the smaller the car, the easier things become.
3. Finally there are some people (don't call me sexist for saying this, but mostly women) who I've seen struggle for years and unable to master the skill of driving. I've seen some struggling for almost 20 years and yet unable to drive in manual cars. For such people, getting a small automatic car would've saved many years.

We aren’t denying the importance or usefulness of these cars. We are questioning if there’s better value to be found. And today there most definitely is.
You are right. But only the bigger boot, suspensions, etc. are not ENOUGH.
Your Small Cars needs Easily Available-Affordable Spares, good Quality After-Sales Services & Service Stns Network.
And that's where the KWID does not match the Maruti Alto's Engine Refinements, Reliability & Service Stns Network.
After investing buyers hard earned money, everyone expects good ownership experience. Is it not.
Since Renaults Cars Sales nos. are very low their Services Stns Spares Stocking is poor & at the same time to Service Stn to cover minimum cost of operations they unethically charge extra.
6800 km , 4 months , Alto K10 VXI+ AMT works like charm , great machine very nimble in Indian city traffic and occasional highways usage , getting 21 kmpl solid . No maintainance exp spent. Could have bought a car at 10 lakhs price range but the size has saved me so much time searching for parking and cruising down narrow streets .

Hey buddy, my advice is to test ride both the bikes. If you want to cruise at 3 digit speeds then i would suggest you to go for n250, it's more modern than the vintage 200ns.

Well, primarily putting your money into buying any car is not an investment in any economic sense. Its depreciating asset. Nobody buys car as an investment, like buying a house or a plot. Its a necessity and one needs it, like buying a refrigerator. its a necessity not an investment

Alto's Engine feels superior to drive. Kwid in comparison needs improvement.
If you like driving then between these two Alto should be your choice.

I'm looking for compact car with 4 on board traveling around city with wk end or long wk trip with friends in western ghats trekking, going in hills for paraglding and family friendly car my wife should be able drive confidently in small tr 2 and 3 city etc
U should compare both car with segment above for better clarity. As it is going to be my first and last car for nxt 10 yr for sure. Bcz I don't want to invest my money in car I want to buy an bike with small 250cc to 400cc off road capabilities bike with light weight agile, vting as shumi told alredy told that ktm is working on new frame for adventure. Hope you got what I want? 😂😂😂
For driving in ghats, I'd recommend the S-presso. The crash rating is really poor, so do not attempt any dangerous maneuvers. 😅
For the rest, it's a really awesome workhorse. Decent interiors, compact dimensions, city driving manners, good ground clearance for handling bad roads, decent engine with ample power, well calibrated AMT.
For biking, I'd recommend the Xpulse 200 4V. Very light weight and capable off-roader, but unsure of its city driving manners. You could also check out Suzuki V-Strom SX, Yezdi Adventure, RE Scram, RE Himalayan. Or you could wait for the upcoming RE Scram 440, KTM Adventure/Enduro 390/250. (The Xpulse 400/440 might not launch soon, hence waiting might be futile).
