Aren’t wearing apps, bringing electricity into the bedroom? I’m a wee bit confused about this. I have been leaving my phone and I pad out of the bedroom, inspired by Zach and it’s really made a difference. I’m going to bed earlier which is great. As a musician, as the gigs start again, that’s going to be more challenging. However, it’s revolutionary for me to turn off the light between 10 and 11pm. I have the Fabulous app which is great but it’s nightly coaching is contradictory for me because I want no screen for at least half an hour before bed and it’s on a screen! Thank you both for all you contribute to human and planetary health .

Mahalo nui loa, thank you from The Heart, to both of you!!! Excellent ideas, and I NEED them. I was sleeping eight to ten glorious, peaceful hours every night, for months; I'm newly stuck in a new place for a year. I was visiting, but got stuck here March 2020 due to the "global wave of strange,"---knowing few people. I wear my smile, face freely breathing, so could not fly from my home the past 15 yrs. on Maui to my new - ancestral homeland to share regenerative farming community design; Scotland .

For me, sleep was disturbed due to abuse in childhood so going to bed was not safe for me. At 55 I am learning I am safe to sleep. I use a beautiful dimmer switch salt lamp on the floor and that creates safety for me also. I get enough sleep but my hours are off due to being in fight/flight on times of day and implicit memory of being disturbed as a child and teen. Thankfully with work on CPTSD and with trauma psychoanalysis I have been learning to self regulate. Thanks for the work you do has been an eye-opener.

Thank you for this very useful and detailed information. I find the omission of information on the role of Vitamin D3 in the proper functioning of the brain centres which have a role in sleep and activating healing processes rather puzzling. The work of neurologist Stasha Gominak (Vitamin D, Sleep and the Gut on CZcams; her 'Rightsleep' programme on her website of that name) helped me tremendously after developing sleep difficulties. Sunlight exposure's role in maintaining the natural wake-sleep mechanisms isn't in sharp enough focus, it seems. Most of us living further away from the equator don't get enough sunlight any more, particularly as the majority have indoor jobs and only have limited holiday time for sun exposure in summer. It would be really great to have Stasha Gominak on your channel to talk about this - a truly passionate practitioner who has joined many dots.

I was eating very well, stopping eating 3 hours before bed, and then....ugh, too much stress, and staying up all night, due to stress. So, I am going to take your brilliant guidance to return to sanity, joy and healthier choices. My mood has plummeted, by degenerative living choices of a bit too much caffeine later in the day in the form of chocolate and no sleep, which I sometimes skip by watching things that uplift me --- all night, as I get scared to sleep--due to the potential for simply laying there, churning worries into butter!
Thanks for these clear ideas: Note to Self: 8:30pm - bed time, pre-tech - inc. lightbulbs.
Getting away from white and blue light at night. Red light: Himalayan lamp, Fire light, candle light, to transition to sleep. Blue blocker glasses can help shift sleep cycles.
Screen should always have blue-light-blockers, eye and brain-fatiguing.

    Thank you, great video 💜
2 very important aspects were little ignored, adding:
Water is not our primary source of hydration, in fact drinking more water adds deuterium (increases illnesses, excess is hard for body to handle, needed in times when we need to get fatter, like pregnancy and before winter for ex. ~120mmo would be a good for adult person, modern water drinking person has ~155mmo and slowly gets fatter and sicker, some faster than others depending ability of ATP production, mitochondrial health) load and flushes out minerals, meaning dehydrates, lessens ability to handle water.
We make intracellular water from fat.
Fat is way more important than proteins, in many ways. I dare to argue fat intake is more important than any other food, also carbs. We make fat from excess carbs, to store toxins in it, and to use to energy production later. Three way street.
    Circadian rhythm.
Is most important for hydration, it activates hormonal functions. Eyes are a clock, timer, wich is controlled by sunlight, disturbed by artificial lights and emf, sleeping with a smart clock most likely steals some amounts of sleep.
Only way to add viscosity of intracellular water, is in fact red light, sunrise, sunset, all spectrum of sunlight. This is why red light therapies are so healing, increases ability to move water, literally blood starts flowing easier. You will not get natural sleep without natural signals from sunlight.
    Water, light and magnetism 💜
Both subjects were mentioned, but not dived into.
    🙂

On the topic of water, the recommendations don't take into account the water you'll get from fruits and vegetables. Apples, for example, have a decent amount of water, structured water at that, and though the specific amount may be nigh impossible to measure, it isn't insignificant. To say someone should aim for basically a gallon of water a day seems excessive. I bring this up with the assumption that the majority of this audience is probably on a journey towards better health and nutritional awareness and as such, is eating or transitioning to a well rounded diet with plentiful fruits and vegetables. A pitfall for us when we undertake a transformative journey is to start obsessing over the things we "should" be doing and it becomes a source of anxiety and stress as inevitably we start falling short.
