    10:10 It was a Hermann's tortoise
. They are quite common in the Adriatic Coast of the Balkan. Some people even keep them as pets. You're right, they sometimes die when they try to cross a road, but if you carry them to the other side, try to keep them low because they are afraid of height and panic otherwise!
Edit: I once found one with a broken shell in my neighbourhood in Prizren, Kosovo. I tried to take care of the tortoise for a few days. That's why I educated myself a little bit on this topic.

"kriko" is what they call the glass. Beer is measured in "kriko e madhe" big glass or "kriko e vogel" small glass. For example in England you can order a pint or half-pint of larger which comes in different glasses.

There is only one railroad that is functional currently in Albania. That is the one you saw. It was renovated recently for the purpose of transporting oil (no passengers) from Fier the oil fields of Marinez to the Italian-Albanian SHPK Petrolifera in Vlora (which you actually passed by when you were going to Zvernec). During communism the government build railroads to most of the major cities from Tirana (the capital) they functioned perfectly transporting goods and passengers but once the dictatorship fell in 1990 the people found themselves unemployed and dirt poor so one of the ways that some of them found to survive is to steal the rails and sell them for scrap to metal working shady companies. the same happened with the electric power lines, they would cut the lines and steal the copper and sell it. Between that and most people not even paying the electricity bills the state owned power company was near bankruptcy and many places fell back into the dark age without electricity. It has been a very hard road to recovery of governing for Albania these past 30 years. Nowadays Albanians want a strong government and pray for the caos to never return again. Those in the western countries who advocate for far right ideas of no government or small government are just idiots who should study Albania's history of the last 30 years as they unintentionally tried it and it was hell. Humans do amazing when they cooperate and get together paying taxes and following democratic laws.
