Follow the steps given below if for any reason the steps in the video are unclear.
How to set up Family Sharing on PlayStation 4
On your PS4, sign in with the account which has the PlayStation Plus subscription.
Open your Settings.
Navigate to the PSN menu.
Select Activate as Your Primary PS4.
How to set up Family Sharing on PS5
A lot of this involves knowing how to manage multiple accounts on PS5. PlayStation Plus sharing is enabled by default on PS5, but should you want to change these settings, here are the steps you'd take.
Go to Settings.
Select Users and Accounts.
Select Other.
Select Console Sharing and Offline Play.
Select Don't Disable.
Which PlayStation Plus benefits can you share?
You should know, not all benefits can be used by the accounts that don't have their own PlayStation Plus subscription. We'll run them down for you.
Here's what you can share
Play online multiplayer
Play downloaded games, including those purchased with a PS Plus discount
Download and play the monthly PS Plus games included with the subscription
Here are the things family members will miss out on
Purchasing games at the discounted PS Plus rate
Cloud storage for game saves
Automatic patch downloads
Exclusive PS Plus-only early access game trials
Whether your secondary accounts need their own PS Plus subscriptions is up to you and your particular needs. If all you want is to play online and play all the games on that console, you're probably OK with just one subscription. However, those with more elaborate needs may want to consider paying for more than one subscription.
It's also worth keeping in mind that PlayStation Plus is being reworked later in 2022, with the service revamp to feature three distinct tiers. The first tier essentially remains the same, while the second and third tiers are folding in portions of PlayStation Now, as well as some other features like game trials.

The way I share ps plus so that I can play online with my other accounts is to make the user with the ps plus activate the ps4 to their primary one so that you can play online and use the same games as that user

@@acideborz1111 With the account, where you have your ps plus subscription on, go onto settings, account management, account information and press on activate as your primary ps4. This would make it so that everyone has a "ps plus subscription" (basically you would be able to play online and use games from the ps plus users account.) Just to add you won't have a ps plus subscription you would just have the ability to play online and play monthly games.

Have two accounts. 1st old 2nd new. I have ps plus on new account. The ps plus subscription on old account expired and ps plus games that I have in the old account have lock next to them. Is there any way to unlock them in the old account?

They did. I did the same thing and rockstar was monitoring my account. They sent me a email saying they reset my password and i had to sign in with a new password. After i did that, all my other accounts couldn't be shared anymore.

I just got a PlayStation of my own previously I was sharing one with my brother and dad whwre my dad used my brother's account so he put plus on that account on the ps4 and we shared the plus benefits (me being able to play online) and I don't wanna mess up anything setting my ps4 as the active one

Yes you can but she can only play games in it and if she wanna download she have to go in your I'd and download it

IT STILL WORKS !!! I putted the profiles back on the primary and the other one from primary and started the primay profile on a multiplayer game played for 5 sec than logged out and go back to the secondary you will notice the plus logo not being there BUT YOU CAN PLAY ONLINE YAAAYYYY

Hey there, awesome video and great explanation. I have a question though since I am in a very particular scenario. I recently bought the PS5 and never had a PS4 so no issues there regarding transfering or sharing from PS4. However, I live in Uruguay and the price of the PS Plus Extra subscription was substantially cheaper in the Uruguaian store vs the US one, even more so with the black friday discounts so I went ahead and bought a 12 month subscription in the Uruguaian store.
Now regarding game purchases, I found it to be way cheaper on the US store, so I went ahead and created a secondary account on my PS5 with US as its region and have been buying top up cards from G2A and redeeming the codes on my wallet and buying some games from the US store.
So on one hand I have PS Plus Extra subscription on my Uruguay account and then I have bought many games on the US account.
I don't intend to share with a friend for now but all I want is to be able to play all games (PS Plus Extra games and bought games) from any of those 2 accounts. Not sure which one I should use as my main as I still haven't started really playing online.
Note that I also have 2 more accounts of my kids in which I would like for them to be able to access all games either subscription or bought from any of those 2 main accounts.
I noticed that If I'm logged into the Uruguay account with the PS plus Extra sub, and go to the Game Library, under Your Collection I don't see the games I bought in the US account, I only see them under Installed if I installed them on the US account. So it's not ideal.
So basically what I'm asking is which account should I be using as my main account to be able to play everything, subscription games and bought games. Is there a way to do this or do I have to switch from one to the other depending on the game? Also, is there a way to be able to play online on all accounts including the 2 of my kids that don't have their own subscriptions?

It's not that serious type a whole novel
It's region specific. You are going to need to hop from one to another. You will never be able to combine them for what you want. If you have more games on the US one, I'd make that one the main one and buy PS+ for that account.
As for your other concern: I have console sharing enabled on my PS5 and my kids have been able to play multiplayer games like Rocket League (make sure they have their own PSN account), and my wife has been able to play Diablo 3 using my shared game collection, so it should work as long as you have that set.

So I plan to get a PS5 (Dad) and I have PS+. Then I want to get each of my kids their own PS5 (2 more). Can I share my PS+ for online play on all 3 consoles for my entire family? Sony does not make it easy for families to share games and subs.

I followed step by step on how to share ps plus within two accounts on the same ps4 and when I finished and went back to the main menu, the other account didn't have ps plus still...

Is there a downside if I do this?
What an absolute hassle. It should based on hardware not software (user accounts). Example, the entire PS device is enabled for online play. Download a game, got three kids? They all get to use it under their profile and it keeps track of progress/trophies based on who is logged in.
Sony is atrocious. They really are the Ebenezer Scrooge of the gaming world. I just bought my PS5 tonight and my daughter wants to play with her cousins 4 states away and it's ridiculous that she has to play under my ID. When someone spends an AZZ load of money on a premium account, every ID on THAT particular PS5 should be online enabled. The online capability paid for should be linked to THAT console, not just one account on that one console. You should have to jump through hoops to get your money's worth... turning this setting off, turning this one on, logging out to turn around and log back in, to turn this setting on and this setting........DAMN IT!!!

Hello, my friend gave me his account so he can share his ps plus with me. There is another guy that has the activation activated on the account that has the ps plus (my friends) will it work? (I cant activate the account as primary (my friends account, the one with the ps plus, *different consoles*))

When using this method of sharing PS+ ( primary PS+ account deactivated ) with another user... ( ps+ has been transferred to another user account ) Can the now newly transferred ps+ account user use ps+ while the ps+ owner has set their second console as primary..? Thus allowing the second console users access to ps+ while the Newly transferred ps+ user ALSO has access to ps+ on first console at SAME time. Essentially allowing Any TWO user accounts to access ps+ on BOTH consoles simultaneously.
As far as I know, only the primary active set console users have ps+ access and ONLY the ps+ account owner has access on the Primary Deactivated console rather than any other console user PRIOR to transferring ps+ using the method explained in this video.

This guy takes too many steps and over complicates it. All you have to do is make sure you have the primary account on the plus profile and deactivate the others.

I am currently on ps plus trial, and have downloaded several games that come with ps plus. There are two other accounts signed in to my PS5. After getting the free trial of ps plus, I can play games online with my other accounts. But the ps plus games have a lock next to them from my other accounts. I do have console sharing and offline play enabled but still I can't play ps plus games on my other accounts. Any help for this would be highly appreciated!

Watched your video 6 or 7 times, did this step by step while watching the video, 360 licenses transferred after I deactivated and logged back into my account all while the secondary account (daughters account) was logged in. Go into her account while still logged in, only 1 license reactivated....did they fix this to tick us off? Just trying to play online PS Plus games with her with my PS5 without having to budget out a second PS Plus account...really this should be allowed when coming from the same external IP anyway....waaaait did i miss something in your fast talking that said she still can't play games I've already downloaded onto the PS4? does this crap only work if I have to still buy two copies, we just don't need to pay the troll toll to play online together????
