Here is my lesson for how to play the Bohemian Rhapsody Guitar Solo by Queen. There's something a little off about that thumbnail photo right? 😉
My answer: YES.
I absolutely love this song/solo. I used to rock out to it in the car as a kid; still do.
I hope you enjoy learning with me, if you need any help leave me a comment or reach out on Patreon.

Great lighting - makes a huge difference. Great videos. Thanks! You've made learning these songs very easy. Very happy to have stumbled upon your videos. Merry Christmas!
Thank you Sped! You’re the best!..Always!
These are all excellent lessons 🤘🤘🤘Thank you for making them!
You’re welcome Brenton, honestly glad you’re getting so much out of them. People found the bit about scales helpful. 🙏🏻
Great lesson Sped! Also, your deadpan delivery: spot on.
Haha, thanks. There's no BS in the lesson but plenty either side ey?
thank you for teaching this solo. great solo. a classic 🤘
My pleasure, I hope you learn something valuable! Have fun.
Killer solo!!.. really like the addition of understanding the 3 scale positions, provides so much more understanding behind it rather than just learning the solo by string/fret etc.. loved the cool little edit capture transformation to ‘Classical Guitar’.. also great piece for improving technique, especially bends.. big fan as you know of all the lessons, production quality is first class..
Hahaha you’re the first to mention that little Easter egg! When I watched it back I was like “omg I actually do look like a mag.” 😂😂😂 Had to do it.
excellent video as usual ... such a great teacher .. one the best on here
Wow, thank you so much! Love this comment, keeps me inspired to make more videos.
Thanks Sped. Been looking forward to a song lesson and this is one I’ve always wanted to learn. Hope you’re doing well
Epic Johnny, it's a classic for sure let me know how you get on with it. I'm good thanks, just about to record another video.
Hey sped, always liked this solo. I liked the way you showed us the scale locations first before getting down to Bizniz.
Cheers Scott! Yeah I think it’s important. I mean, no doubt there are about 10,000 lessons on CZcams of this so I figured I need to bring something unique each time. 🙌🏻
Hey Sped, Awesome!! Thank you!!👍
You’re welcome, have fun learning!
Excellent content as per usual
Thanks Sami! 💪🏻
Awesome lesson!
Glad you liked it!
Absolutely brilliant sped.
Lots of great tips, and a must to learn my scales.
So so well played as well.
Many thanks 👍😀
Yeah absolutely, glad that message resonated. Are you familiar with the shapes? 🤷🏻♂️
@@SpedSpedding Not really, only scale I know is the pentatonic. So am learning songs parrot fashion a lot of the time. Going to do Sophs beginner course on Musicisum when they eventually release it.
I think I have missed so much learning the way I have.
Learning so much from Soph on her patreon.
Perhaps I should join your patreon as well.
@@chrisjude8794 Only if you think you will survive crossing the beams. 👻 😂 There’s a lot of good stuff on there and a nice immunity of fun people.
Magmotional. Excellent vid!
Many thanks!
I'm Looking forward to learning this one. Like the helpful notes on the music/TAB (the written text ones I mean, the little black blob shaped ones are not really optional).
Haha, yeah they are. Wouldn't really get very far without them would we. Glad you like the tab; for me having the three scale shapes there and understanding where you're playing in the context of the key will be so valuable moving forward and crafting your own stuff.
@@SpedSpedding Couldn't agree more. Having the TAB available is essential.
Another fantastic lesson. Well done Sir. I know what I'll be doing after work today...
Epic, looking forward to hanging out after work. Screen to eye. 😂🙌🏻
Great lesson knowing the scale shapes helps a lot thanks sped
You’re welcome Farid. Yeah now you can use what you learn wherever you want. Borrow from Bri. 🙌🏻😂
Bri would be proud😂🎸
How do we get Sped to 100k? So many players would benefit from his lessons.
Haha thanks! Just keep watching, liking and sharing! Appreciate you. 🙏🏻
Great job Sped. I’ve learned more about scales patterns etc from watching your videos in the past few months than all the years I’ve been playing. I taught myself how to play bass by watching my friend play in bars. That guy happens to be Billy Sheehan. Before I even thought about it I used to go watch him at school dances etc. By the way sweet prs sounds great. Love Brian May great tones & solos. You got a lot goin for ya patience tone look personality hope to see you on a big stage somewhere. As always best to you & Gab.
How cool is that, I’ve got Billy’s autograph upstairs in a Steve Vai album case. He signed a ticket stump from when I went to watch G3 years ago.
So happy to hear that you’re learning so much from these videos. Keep it up, have fun! 🙌🏻
Wonderfull lesson😀
Thanks, I wanted to put up another educational video but change up the artist so this worked great. 👌🏻
I have learned this solo years ago, however , I was never able to play it cleanly thru the quick hammer-on, pull -off parts during the middle of the lead. So this will be learning it proper and confidently flowing thru the entire lead. You just did "Rain Song" and I am still not totally hands down proper with that one yet. So this little ditty is a welcome lesson to switch between tunes. Keep `em comin Sped
Love this! I mentioned to Gab a while back that I want my channel to fuse both my love of guitar and cinema. I always try to achieve cinematic shots where I can, even in lessons. People might say what’s the point. For me it’s not even a choice. 🙌🏻
Top Learning!
Thank you! 🔥
Man i love this…cheers from the east coast 🤘🏻🇨🇦
So cool, thanks for the comment. Let me know how you get on with it! 🇨🇦
Subscribed here and IG loved your content of led zep, and here we are :)
Thanks so much! Hope you like everything else you find.
Great lesson sped, also just seen the video cover haha didnt see you at first
How could you miss me mate? 😂
Your head in that thumbnail 🤣 great video once again! 👏🏼 ❤️
😂😂 only about two people have noticed.
I don’t understand how you only have 40k subs these videos are fire man keep them up.
Thank you! I’ve been wrestling with the algorithm for many years. We will get there. 🙌🏻🔥
@@SpedSpedding you should do a cover of play the game because you have to play the YT algorithm game 😂 and because the song is badass!
And it makes me wonder how the worst instructional video for this song has the most views ... (over a million) Keep up the great work man !! Cheers from Athens , Greece
now i have "homework" for this weekend .... :)))) thanks so much from Portugal 😉
You do indeed! Have fun with it. 🇵🇹
Hey Sped!
Your song tutorials are second to none, for a few reasons too. You don’t try and rush through it like I see so many do, so it’s a lot easier to just get it! Secondly, you go a bit deeper too explaining a why and a how.
Lastly, you just do classic epics, Ya…. Jimmy would approve of this message LOL! 🤙
Hahaha thanks man. Rumour has it Jimmy and Bri got together last night to watch this video go live like a PPV boxing match. Bad hangovers today apparently. 😂
That would be something though, the both of them in the same place exchanging licks 🤙 Jimmy was my favorite though, the man was a riff writing MA-CHINE lol 😂
By the way, how do like that SE? My friend had bought his son a PRS SE in hopes he’d play and keep it up. Anyhow I plugged it in and checked it out, I couldn’t believe how nice it felt and sounded. Way back when I was real young they really built crap unless you spent considerably more money. Today these guitars play so beautifully in just about any price category, they’ve really come a long way!
@@TommySG1 it’s my favourite guitar to play. The neck, strong tension, accuracy. I think a real 24 and a 594 are on the cards for me. When Gab gets her book deal. 😂👌🏻
@@SpedSpedding , best of luck regarding the book signing 🤙
Great
Thanks Alan!
That was genius
Loving this level of compliment. 🙌🏻😂
Respect Sped’s authorita! Quick question…. Since this in E flat, is there any benefit to just tuning down 1/2 step a la SRV?
I would say the only benefit would be string tension. I actually think Brian uses 8’s?
I’m not using any open strings so no problem. Depends whether you want a dot on your root note or not. 😂
@@SpedSpedding thanks Spedmaster!
@@SpedSpedding Brian's red special has a scale length of only 24 inches. This means a lower tension than either Fender or Gibson standards which helps with the bends.
Did it! The scales still semi elude me but they must be in my mind somewhere.
Hey if those things are eluding you then circle back around and try again? Being able to understand what you're playing and where it makes sense on the fretboard is a proper game changer.
@@SpedSpedding Yup! I go back on them every few days.
Please make a new smiths tutorial mate
Sukses.,
🇮🇩 You know it!
Barbarism begins at home would be a great tutorial
I love that song, it’s been years since I played it in full.
Thanks Man, what was for dinner?
It was a delicious home made soup. And it was bright purple, like, as if Thanos has lost his arm in it purple.
hi...i beat you to this one by a few years......:-)....once learned, it's quite easy.....but still sounds great.....
Steve Vai might say that things he does now are “easy.” It’s important to zoom out and be proud of everything you’ve learned and can play. Maybe it’s only easy because you’re really good?
@@SpedSpedding ....:-).....well...i'm good at the things i like to play...but i have my weaknesses...(as we all do...)....which i can't tell you....haha...
hi sped
👋🏻
You are my religion guitar solo lesson please
😏😏
When I pull my guitar out my wife disappears into the kitchen too.
She cooking up a bassline for you? 💪🏻😂
