I see why black people that go to hbcus are so confident....it just seems like going to a school in white spaces can low key make you question your self.

This can be the case. The opposite can also be true. I know being in mostly white spaces since I was a kid -- but also with strong ties to black communities on multiple continents -- gave me confidence. A lot of (black) people who don't experience white people til later give them too much credit. I saw them, and all their warts, from very early on.

Which says you're def not part of the fight that the rest of the black people have. You're one of the ones that's just here to stay mad lol just because the video is about and for the black people to get more insight... don't you think it's good it reached others? Loved watching this. I went to a women's college 50 years ago and the Black women were so cool. They would have nothing to do with us anglo/white students. They probably didn't feel like they missed out on anything, but I did. I was in college when we were demonstrating to end the Vietnam war, for women's rights, for racial equality. When I left college I thought things would get better. Maybe they did, but not enough and there is still so much farther the US needs to go. Glad all you students are finding a community to be comfortable in. I wish your professors were better!

As a black student who also attended a school that has a very small percentage of black people, I can totally relate to their culture shock experiences.
I think it definitely makes you feel isolated and you start to think that people are warier of you than they actually are. However, I think that it is good to mingle with others who aren't black and learn to embrace other cultures and perspectives. That really helped me navigate through the culture shock as one of the few black people in my classes.
I think when you learn to embrace others' cultures, it makes you more understanding of others' perspectives, even if you don't necessarily agree with them.
