Well done. Couple ideas, use the biggest hose you can, but shortest length.

I did the exact same system recently. Amazing how I have been using it in -20c but my well insualted tub hold the heat and it doesn't lose many degree in 24 hours being off. I took out my 20 minute safety timer and love using my smart timer, I have fell asleep running the heater twice now and woke up to 140f water and had to leave the cover off for 8 hours to cool it to 110

I have a question: how often do you use/heat up your tub and how long does your propane tank last before you have to replace it?
Like, one sold at Home Depot. Obviously this depends on how much you use the tub of course. I’m concerned about having to get a new propane tank weekly in order to use the tub 1-3x a week. There’s not a lot of information and I’m considering going down the propane route or just getting a hot tub that plugs into a wall utilizing electricity for the heating element.

Can propane stay open n not run out? Trying to figure out what good remote starting is off propane has to be manually turned on and off

This is a game changer! Great video. Questions:
    1. How long does a propane tank last with your use?
    2. How long does it take to heat up the tub? Lets say to 90°-100°F
    3. Chemically speaking, do I need a tub with a functioning pump to circulate the water? Or will the chemicals be enough to treat the water without circulation?
I anticipate to use my hot tub 1-2x a week. Thank you!

      These are good questions…
      1. A long time can’t say how long but many hours
      2. This is tricky. It’s all about the starting temp and tub capacity make a huge difference. So ballpark 5-10 degrees every 20 min cycle
      3. A tub with no pump means a tub with no jets…. But hot tub chemistry is a big deal. One to two times a week shoul be enough to cycle it.
My hot tub cycles a few 20 min cycles a day (from factory ) which helps keep the water going and all.
Full disclosure- since power is out there and all of the other work and cost. I genuinely believe at this point replacing the heater and going from there might be the best solution after all. Same work. Probably less in parts. And The tubs are so well insulated I don’t think there would be a massive power draw. …just my 2 cents after all of this and having it running for some time Good luck

@@letsmakeitbetter2828 thanks for answering all my questions. All of this is great to know.
If you’re not happy with your pump right now, can I ask why? Which pump are you going to upgrade to?
I was going to do a wood burning stove/stock tank hot tub but now after watching your video(s), this makes more sense.

So both pumps work just fine I’m happy with the whole system. However, I think for the money and the time I could have repaired the original heater in the hot tub. Mine came with a functioning internal pump, and I think that having the system just running, would not be terribly inefficient based on the insulation and it would always sort of be “ready” because all of the other electronics on the hot tub worked. Believe it or not the first hot tub I ever got. I picked up the shelf for free and we ran a pump through a coil through a burn barrel, and it was woodfired. I had a blast making it with my friends, but it took eight hours of maintaining to heat it up so we only used it for very special events but those events were fun and memorable because people came over early. We got a fire going and by the evening we had a ridiculous, hot tub.

does that pump allow for water at 102 to 104F flowing through it?

never tested it...but way hotter than the recommended 105.... i would assume without saftey features on the water heater I have seen that heat 90 degree water to 165... so it might boil if you wanted to reset the timer every 20 mins
