Stadia is exactly what I don't want to happen to video games, a purely streaming, online-only experience where you don't own anything and are at the mercy of another company's data to play games. It's for that reason I applauded Stadia's downfall.
i bought an external drive. have a lot of the games i have on there. if a single player game has drm i find the cracked version of it and aave that too.
Actually, this isn't entirely true. A netflix like service, even if you don't own anything, is(or would be) drastically cheaper.
Currently, entry is a 500 dollar payment on a console, and 60 per game (so 300 for just 5 games) and then an additional monthly fee just to be able to play online.
So, its true, its unfortunate stadia sucks, but the if it (or a similar service) were to work, there would be a massive drop in pricing.
Its like, trying to compare Netflix vs trying to buy every show on netflix on itunes and building a library so you own the titles. Like, yes, you don't OWN netflix titles, but it is so much cheaper than the 2nd option that its a better deal for almost everyone.
@@AayamS but that was never what Stadia intended in the first place. Everyone thought that is what would be the service model, because it makes perfect sense, but it wasn’t until down the road. You had to own the games over Stadia’s system to play, a full 60$ on top of the “subscription” that literally only allowed to stream in 4K. Even now when their platform has “developed,” it’s staggeringly less games than Xbox games service. And staggeringly less stable in streaming.

Google has a history of starting half thought up services, not living up to expectations, and then dropping the services alienating those few who are using said services. Remember Google+? The service almost no one used. Well, a lot of TTRPG gamers were using Google+ when they discontinued the services.
RID Stadia (Rest In Dumpster). ;)
Feel bad for the kids who got this for Christmas
I'm pretty sure every parent out there knows about consoles or doesn't know about Stadia. Either way the kids are safe.
HomeAppliance Yea no kid thought “I want stadia for Christmas”
I got a bootlegged gameboy from China! Even that's better than a stadia thing
It is a bit difficult to imagine parents buying a sketchy cloud service instead of a Switch for their very young children.
@@squeekyisepic9552 why did you do r/wooosh?
Stadia : Play anywhere you want!
Nintendo : *calls lawyers*
I can't even stream 720p without hogging up the network and bringing everyone else in the house's internet experiences to a crawl.
The quality of Internet service is going to have to improve a lot, on a global scale, before something like this would be as successful as traditional consoles.
Welp now that Google Stadia is shutting down this vid feels weird now
stadia almost has more annoying adds than raid shadow legends

I honestly enjoy playing a Virtual Boy over using Stadia.
Granted, I’m using an emulator and it’s mostly ironic fun, but still....
@@ShibuNub3305 it can be genuine. i love it, red & black warts and all
Oof, you know what's sad about that? For as bad as the Virtual Boy was, it at least did what it was made to do and would at least work when you started it up lol
@@ScrambledAndBenedict Despite having less store time than Stadia you could play at least any of its games despite lack of headstrap

Take a shot everytime Phil Harrison says "Wherever you are, Stadia lets you play the latest games" and I guarantee you'll have the worst hangover.
Google may want to avoid use of the word "teraflop" in the future...
Yeah, kinda set themselves up without directly mentioning their fate.
They said that they have more teraflops then xbox and ps4 combined but its only by .5 teraflops -_-
More like gigaflop

tera is higher than giga
yeah Teraflop... because stadia was TERAble and FLOPPED like a fish

Gabriel Angelo I hope it does, but it needs to be implemented correctly.
They're probably just going to keep it going so it doesn't look like a total flop, but I bet the numbers are already almost zero
Funny how this channel predicted the future of Google Stadia!
I remember when I actually wanted this and thought it would be good. Thank god, I never got it.
I never wanted one. I realized based on xboxs xcloud that streaming wasnt the way forward.
For that to work youd need a crazy internet connection which my country (australia) is just never going to have. Plus theres still input lag which makes it impossible to be compediitive.
Always remember kids, never have Stadia or anti-vaping ads on your Gaming Awards show.
Vaping is gay anyways
Tommy Johnson super gay
You mean never have stadia or vaping ads that promotes vaping on your game awards show
stadia is gay, but vaping is BIG GAY
Rerez: google stadia had the worst console launch ever

All I’ve seen were adds with a yelling knight and then cutting to Assassin’s Creed and that’s my experience with Stadia. I just called them ‘random dumb adds’, and they were
I thought Stadia would suck.
I didnt even realize it was by a huge mega corperation like google, because the ads looked so cringy, and I had no idea it had already launched in November. I heard litterally *nothing* about stadia before ads and this video
i actually didnt know that it launched i just continued to skip those retarded ads

*Servers: 32bit and 2.7 ghz LOL*
The ads are annoying
It reminds me of the Atari Jagular Commercials.... ugh....
Especially the one with the dumb 80s guy that screams everything.
Stadia ads are sometimes the only ads I see a day. If the corporate overlords can see this, stop spamming me.
Not to mention we got that in the fucking game awards.

Guns N' Games XDDDD

Cloud gaming will never succeed, because it's fundamentally unusable unless you walk an extremely narrow happy path.
Don't have Ethernet in your home? Don't have a fiber connection? Don't live deep in a major metropolitan area with sufficient edge nodes? *Tough fucking luck,* the laws of physics (and the fact that the Internet is inherently unreliable at the link level) mean that any game you try to stream will be unplayable.
it'll frankly be YEARS until Cloud Gaming is actually possible, but right now: the world just isn't ready for it....and perhaps never will, I know this contradicts what I just said, but it's kind of the sad reality
I knew stadia was gonna be a massive shitshow. I'd much rather have a box that doesnt require internet to run, than a janky (in a bad way) as hell, unreliable chunk of false advertising that is called the stadia
Stadia is going to end up being one of those Christmas presents that you don't really want, but have to act excited when someone gives it to you. And you KNOW some poor kid expecting an XBOX or PS4 for Christmas, will be opening one of these.

If parents tried buying a Stadia because they wanted to save money they’d better have the best internet on the planet or else it would be pretty useless
Somehow Google managed to have worse marketing for the Stadia than Nintendo had for the Wii U. I applaud Google for that. That is really hard to pull off.
Indeed, borderline jaguar
Hey! At least nintendo tried with the wii u
Atleast the wii u is actually pretty good
@@weegeewegee639 The marketing was absolutely awful though. They could have given it a different name like the "Super Wii," but instead they gave it a name that was too similar to the original Wii (which had a peripheral called the U draw). The games on it, like Splatoon, MK8, SM3DW, Mario Maker, and Breath of the Wild are all great games.
The only consoles and handhelds I have owned are Nintendo.
What about the virtual boy or the Atari Jaguar ?
10.7 teraflops in one product
Teraflops,
1. “You need a better internet connection to play”
2. No search button
3. PS5 has more power than Stadias 32bit servers
4. No stadia on samsung or any other phone except Pixel
5. Slow asf
6. Sucks up internet ( i played doom64 for 30 mins on lowest quality 720p 30fps stereo sound and i lost 20GB data ngl)

8. No game runs well at all
9. Doesnt support android tv
