Anna May Wong is reciting the Chinese poem in Toisan, a dialect in Chinese, and the poem is below.
"At the Lotus Inn Bidding Goodbye to Xin Jian" - Verse No. 1 (of 2)
    by Wang Changling (698?-757)
    Translated by Frank C Yue
    The poem:
    寒雨連江夜入吳
Hon yi len gong yeh yip ng
    平明送客楚山孤
Pen men thlung hak chu saan gu
    洛陽親友如相問
Lok yiang tin yiu ngui thliang mun
    一片冰心在玉壺
Yit pen ben thlim doi nguk vu
    Cold rains blott'd out the Yangtze as I came to Wu at night;
Amid the Chu hills, we bid lonely Adieu at first light.
O, Should my Louyang friends and relatives ask about me -
Of clear ice in a jade bottle, my heart is like a piece.

Wow. Some humor just doesn't stand the test of time, does it? 😉
At least Anna May Wong's bit is charming and she doesn't embarrass herself. The one with Bela Lugosi is pretty ubiquitous. It's often included in those multi-horror film public domain DVD packages. And let's face it, his "You have Booped your last Boop" line is probably the funniest thing in here. And it's nice to see Toshia Mori getting the spotlight. She was the first and, as far as I know, the only woman of color WAMPAS Baby Star. She was on quite a roll in Hollywood during the early to mid-30's, mostly bit parts of course, but a real scene stealer in "The Bitter Tea of General Yen" directed by Frank Capra who has claimed to have discovered her. She and Anna May Wong appeared in two films together, both in 1927: "Mr. Wu" and "Streets of Shanghai".
It's a trip to see some folks you know and still remember and others folks that make you wonder how they got into show business at all. Sort of a "Who the hell is that and why am I not surprised I don't know?" syndrome. But as dopey as these are, it's still a kick to see them all back to back like this so thanks for putting this together.

So true! I had to look up who some of these "well known" people are on Google. Haha! It's a time capsule for sure!
