Now thats a .22 round with an attitude.
Spicy, messy and straight to the point.
My dad and his buddies hunted ground squirrels out in CA back In 50s and 70s. Liked .222 but settled on .243 because the accuracy at long range and less wind movement on bigger bullet. His buddy gad a .220 swift and after he shot out of a 26" barrell fire and powder blistered their sheets. Couldn't burn all the powder. 22 in 30-06 case necked down is just too much powder. Wonder what it would do with today's powders. Eat out the barrells real fast as well.
Check out the Raging Hornet by Taurus. That's another fantastic .22 caliber handgun.

Hey Scott. You know how Paul harrel makes those meat targets? You should make a meat target and shoot it out of the punt gun. For Paul!! And maybe for science
This is a great idea
Brilliant
It would be cool to see, especially I'd alot of other gun tubers did so in vids released about the same time or randomly in honor of paul!!!
But don't use venison, it's dear meat 😂
I agree! Scott should do this in support of Paul!
That thing is a rocket! I can't tell that the bullet doesn't impact the target at the instant you pulled the trigger. It seems instantaneous. Love to see Hickok45 shoot the gong with this. At that distance you can tell when he's shooting a faster load compared to say a slow slug.
I think the round gets there before he squeezes the trigger 😂
Many of the slugs he shoots the gong with we can see as they travel, unlikely with this round.
3,000+ Fps ain't no joke.... Tannerite blows at that speed.

What is so crazy to me is the lack of delay between muzzle flash and impact noise. Usually, and I might just be crazy, but I can hear when slower rounds take their time flying down range. It's slight, but you can tell how fast that round is moving. Another awesome video Scott, keep up the content!
Yeah depending on the sun and ammo you can see 9mm.
It is extremely fast. Almost instant, depending on the distance.
Hitscan IRL practically.
I can hear bbs flying
Garand thumb shot some subsonic 300 blackout at like 300 yrds a few weeks ago and they clocked it at like a 3 second delay to impact lol it was trippy cause you're so used to bang and an almost immediate ping. Then this thing the bang and ping were almost one in the same.

You should shoot something called a non-newtonian fluid. Solid when hit but liquid when static. It's pretty cool. Just need water and cornstarch
Some knee/elbow pads are made of that stuff. Pretty sure some chest protectors are, too. That would be a fun test!
It's called ketchup
The fluid reacts to slow to get solid on the actuall hit from the bullet. The bullet it just to fast.

Love 22-250. Have a Rem 700, 26" medium heavy barrel. My handloads get a tad over 4300 FPS through it. Does wonders on prairy dogs and ground hogs. The only downfall is that it's a barrel burner. Barrels only last about 1000 rounds before they're shot out.
Impressive! Getting 1000 rounds with that kind of velocity is plenty of life. Worth the cost of a barrel change (in my opinion).
What twist rate are you running?
Definitely a barrel burner almost as bad as222 fireball😂
@@brandonc4770Current barrel is 1:14 twist. Next barrel I'm going down to 1:10 so I can shoot longer/heavier bullets for better BC and better velocity retention at long range. It'll lose some of it's muzzle velocity, but retain it longer. As it is, 40-50 grain bullets (the norm for the 22-250 and the relatively mild twist rate) have terrible BC's and drop velocity very quickly. As fast as it is at the muzzle, it drops off so quick that 500-600 yards is about it's useful max range.
The dummy falling head first into the gloop killed me, never seen a bad video from you Scott, just great fun all the time. The power on the water bottles at the end was nuts, blowing them into the air like that.
We used to kick off camping weekends by shooting a can of shaving cream with the old .22-250. It “decorated” everything in about a 30ft radius. Glad to see that cartridge getting some love on KB.
Now that's the coolest pistol right there. And you sir are the coolest gun-tuber on the planet.

Love your videos! I am glad to finally see a Weatherby CFP on your channel. I have a Weatherby Fibermark CFP Mk5 chambered in 7mm-08 and it is a great gun. Keep the videos coming!
There was a video from Forgotten Weapons years ago where someone had a 2 bore pistol and now all I can think is where is it so I can send it to Scott so he can shoot anything and everything with it!! Thank you for the videos, I absolutely love them.
22 250 is a very under rated round that is quite capable of out performing both 223 and 556 weight for weight the 22 250 has much higher velocity with no difference in bullet diam. You should try some solids in the 22 250 non hollow point not the easiest to find but they do exist if i recall you can get steel core ones as well and those will chew up steel targets but good. Also you could technically reload and use any 223 projectiles you want
i should have bought one back when i had the chance to get one at a reasonable price but being a young idiot back then i passed on it
I've never owned 22-250 but that's what my dad grew up deer hunting with in Virginia, tons of energy delivered downrange and a tack driver of a round. This was out of a bolt action rifle of course.
I have a Remington 788 chambered in 22-250, it shoots so incredibly flat its a dream. Only problem is its not a cheap ammo in Canada, and I have to do my own reloads to shoot any volume of rounds without missing rent.
@@locketom honestly it's not a super common load here in the states either, I'd say cent for cent when you find them here you're looking at same as .308 price range if not more.
@chrisscott6227 that's interesting 22-250 and 308 are about the same price point here as well. It's about $2 CAD ($1.48 USD) per round unless you're buying bulk, which can be tricky to come by.

.22-250 bench rifle with 50gr V-max at 100 yd. Shooting a stack of old latex paint cans (full), with a series of cheap flat-faced 10lb lifting weights between cans in an alternating tower. Results: the lid of the paint cans is pressed with so much internal pressure against the weights, that it extrudes a perfect hole, the diameter of the weight bar's hole, out of the lid as the can explodes.
This was done following a public County shooting competition at my grandfather's (a gun dealer/gun smith) place. We'd placed a backdrop of paper behind the target to try and make "modern art." All the paint sort of flies upward, not backwards, so no art was created. The consistent fluid-pressure steel extrusion was more than amusing though.
That's pretty badass. Just imagine how small of a window in time that all of that is taking place.
dude, you should record that! that sounds amazing. I shoot a .204 Ruger and fast little bullets have always intrigued me.
The glue slo-mo was beautiful.

Gotta love Scott, bringing joy to the masses through explosions and mayhem with a dusting of humor.
The bullet hits before Scott touches the trigger, it reads his mind. But truthfully, the sound of the bang of the until the sound of it smacks the target is incredible. Talk about a flat trajectory, there is no drop. Not only do I like being introduced to knew pistols but new calibers, and this one was a shocker to most people. Thank you Scott! Keep doing what you do. One of your best and my favorite and I would like to see more with this gun. And possibly pull in others which are also fun, since this one doesn't kick and won't scare your friends (hint hint).

Hey Scott, nice to see you bro i can't see your videos for 4 months, and seeing your amazing videos after this long time makes me so happy thank you😊
My brother has a 22-250, thanks for putting it into perspective what this round is capable of!
Wow!! 3,800 ft/sec. That's a tad bit under 2,591 mph. Not even the slowmo cam picks that up. That's a spicy 22
I love the T Rex!!! I like the way the just chucked the fire extinguisher, too funny!!!
22-250 is a great prairiedog round. It shoots flat, doesn't have much recoil, and has more than enough energy even out to 600 yards. It is great fun but just remember they generally carry the bubonic plague.
I need an AR chambered in 22-250
I'm always on the lookout for firearms that push the boundaries of performance, and this handgun definitely delivers. The way it handles and fires speaks volumes about its engineering and design. It's not just about raw power; it's about finesse and control, which this handgun seems to offer in abundance.

Hey I would say some vulgar words to right now but I'm going to be respectful just don't lie about ole Scott alright
So for those who might have questions about if the bullet is going how fast he says its going, at the 100 yard test with the water jugs, it took 5 frames between the recoil starting (aka the bullet has been fired) and it striking the target. That's about 0.08333- seconds (at 60 fps), which means in order to go 300 ft (100 yards) in 0.08333- seconds, it must be travelling at an average of about 3600 ft/s. Take into consideration that the bullet needs to accelerate to its speed after the recoil starts and some deceleration due to air resistance.. and its peak velocity of 3800 ft/s isn't too far off the mark. Science.
Seems like a stretch for it to be screaming like that out of a short barrel. With what I’m looking at rn you’ll get like 3600 from a 24 inch barrel.
I hit a steel plate with a 22-250 at 200yrds in a rifle, and it was putting holes in the steel like it was hit with a plasma cutter. How thick was the steel? And what grade?

This reminds me of "That Gun" from Fallout: New Vegas, which was a semi-auto pistol chambered in 5.56. Surely, if they can make a 22-250 pistol work, then they can whip that up for Fallout fans!
you could do it, but a practical model wouldn't look anything close to that gun. 5.56 out of 4-5 inch barrel would create a lot of blast but not very much power.
There are numerous semi-auto pistols chambered in 5.56. Most are called "AR pistols," though there are others.
"That Gun," was a revolver, but it was really just a replica of the gun from Blade Runner. That's why it's called "That Gun," because people asked the devs to put "that gun from Blade Runner" into the game.
And for the record, a revolver in 5.56 would be _awful_ unless you made it like the Nagant where it has no cylinder gap, because the blast from the gap would be terrible and probably get you kicked out of most gun ranges.
@@Bacteriophagebs You're right. I forgot the one in New Vegas was a revolver. I must have gotten it mixed up with the .223 pistol from Fallout 1 & 2, which I always thought was a semi-auto, because it was supposed to just be a cut down rifle. But looking now at the wiki, apparently that one was a revolver, too, so I'm just wrong.

I shot .30-.30 Winchester in a Thompson Center Contender pistol, when I was 14. A bit bigger than this caliber, obviously. That thing was a beast. It didn't have a tripod and I had a hard time hitting anything with it. It sure was loud though. LOL
ANY 30-30 is LOUD, doesn't matter what it is being fired out of. This is a first for me, though, I never heard of a 30-30 Pistol, ever. That sounds good on paper until you actually fire it; too much power in the bullet for the weight or stability of the handgun. Clearly difficult to control so I really don't blame your 14-year-old self for not being accurate with it; I doubt many adults would be either.
@@jamescurfman3284 Yeah, it was an interesting gun, with several interchangeable barrels. My step that had a huge collection with quite a few eccentric pieces, so this fit right in. It was a weird shooting position… on the back, feet towards the target, knees bent, pistol barrel braced against the leg, looking through the scope at arms length. I don't know why that position. That's just what he showed me. Anyway, after about 5 or 6 shots of getting close but not hitting anything, it wasn't really fun anymore. His old 45 and 357 revolvers, on the other hand.
