do a 1000 degree chip o matic (for fun)🔥
We enjoy everything you do.
WHY!?!?
WHY do you have to destroy those chronographs?!?!
Do you have any clue how many guys would just love to have one?! It's not like they are only a 20 dollar investment!
I just wanna know why you own purple pants 😂😂😂
@jtjjbannie Because he likes showing everybody How much fun he has wasting money. And why does he have all of this money? Because we're the idiots that keep watching his videos to help him make the money. I've met him in person. I've got his autograph, just to find out later that he straight lied to my face And after that, my opinion of him sunk quite low.
It's surprising how much power the arrow gun has with just a 22 blank providing the momentum to the arrow. Imagine if they made a bigger bore version.
That was instantly my thought!
I tried 7.62x51 NATO blanks with an arrow a long time ago, it's too much and I'm just happy that the shreds of the arrow were blasted out rather than the gun blowing up.
The wing shot II will send that arrow at a much higher speed but when ti comes to gunpowder there isn't really a way to regulate the amount of pressure, it just expands with full force so anything above .22 won't work.
45-70 😁
50 BMG blank + really thick arrow 🤣
Would most likey destroy the bolt
I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
U're welcome😎👍
Hi bro, it's good, but I'll see the end
Do you need a licence for a home made 22 lr
God bless the 1% that see this 🙏
We always enjoy the videos lmao
I know it’s 2 years too late but congrats on recovering from the .50 bmg
Detectives arrive at the scene of a crime where the victim has an arrow in them and find only a .22 blank casing wondering what happened…
After So many years, I love how Scott is still making us happy with the skits
When Scott slaps the Ballistic Gel, imagin you get so a Slap in the Face..., Game over
Oh, was that the emotion I was experiencing
My crossbow manages around 380 feet per second. The fact that the arrow gun, with barely any hassle, manages to get 400+ FPS with a .22 blank is impressive.
its 100gn less on that ruger
I own a Ravin R20 crossbow and it gets up to 425 fps. But this arrowgun is quite impressive. Although it's no option for me here in Germany 😅
@@ExtendedShelf it actually is. this is basicly a non rated toygun over here. it doesnt shoot something out of a barrel so it does not classify as a gun after german law...
I would assume your crossbow fires much more heavy bolt than that gun?
@@samhawkens9561 It already exists something similar but with air pressure and it went straight from toy to illegal in Germany. They even have plans to ban crossbows since years. If you like guns, don't matter what kind of, buy from Germany (like HK, Walther,...) but better don't live there 🤦♂😉
Don't forget that Dewalt makes different power levels of 22LR blanks for powder actuated tools. I'd love to see a speed comparison between the different power levels. Also, I'm impressed that it cycles the spent casing out. There's enough back pressure from the arrow.
thats funny, my take-away from seeing it cycle was how much faster would it huck an arrow if it were a bolt gun?
Seems like a 10/22 is a poor platform for this. Just lost energy and noise and more difficult to single load. This barrel on a break open single shot would be a better idea.
That would be a great idea but it seems every time Scott gets a chronograph something tragic happens to it lol
*******SCOTT********Got to get an adapter made for the 4 bore and shoot arrows out of it!!! Could be an actual spear gun and not an arrow gun!!!!! If oil the trigger from a string of you attempt this with the 4 bore!!!!
with the way that arrows are i dont think a stronger blank would work out quite how you think it would.
I am genuinely shocked that Scott actually used the chronograph before destroying it.
I want to see a accuracy test at 20 30 40 and 50 yards. Maybe out further if its holding well. Definitely get some adjustable sights on that and go wild for science!
I think umarex PCP is accurate up to hundred yards, and you can always turn your eyes on Benjamin's or crossman 😉
@@ApocGuyumarex is good so is beeman but crosman kinda cheapo
As kids me and two friends had .22 rifles. Our parents wouldn't let us buy paintball guns at the time. We used blanks and pvc to make our own paintball guns. After our folks saw the plate sized welts left by our custom paintball guns, we were allowed real ones... long story short, this was no surprise to me!!
Did you buy your blanks at home Depot or Lowe's or mclendons?
You were allowed to have .22s but not paintballs ? Lmao
@@POTATOEH81blanks in the US can be purchased in home improvement stores. The intention is for them to drive nails into concrete, but I've seen other CZcamsrs use them for making "gun" hybrids like hammers, bats, and golf clubs.
@@dogishappy0 Ramsets are available in many countries, not just the US
@hawkstable8889 lol, I have Discord friends all over the world, so I'm used to adding context like this whenever discussing anything gunpowder related.
It really made me chuckle when Scott brought out the chronograph. I really was curious how fast the bolt was moving but I immediately got disappointed because I just assumed he was gonna shoot it without getting a reading first 😂
I gotta say, I don't get that bit. There's been several videos where I was honestly curious about the speed and he just shoots the chronograph. Lol, joke's on me, I guess.
I was guessing at the speed and was dying to know, so really glad he let this one go.
@@jorgejiminez-rk1uuI think he just gets a chuckle out of it 😂
@jorgejiminez-rk1uu I too must've missed that narrative, been subscribed for years
@@MichaelPoage666 yeah I guess that's the funny bit, the randomness of it. Like some channels have attractive models doing sophisticated and highly technical data driven videos (Paul Harrell) and then there is Scott, making poop jokes and destroying tables and his equipment.
De-knocked aluminum arrow in a .410 works phenomenally. Gotta open the shell and dump the bbs out but leave the wad in. I watched my cousin bust a groundhog from a solid 100yds away with one one time lol. First deer he ever killed with an arrow came out of a .410 too. 😂🤦🏼♂️ Squirrel season and Whitetail archery season were both in, so he took buckshot and an arrow.
I've been curious about archery ever since my father told me more than half my lifetime ago when I was 16 and had educated me on the history and use of certain widely available trees for the wood used even smack bang in the middle of a battlefield. I didn't get to know him much throughout life and he died 8 weeks ago today. As a fantasy gamer, I've always preferred the idea of bows and swords to firearms, even though I enjoy games like CoD. Watching archery videos led me to your crossbow test and then to your other vids like these and they bring me comfort. I hope to take up archery soon, though I'd probably have to visit the United States of Merikuh if I get curious enough to try firearms, they're not anywhere near as prominent here in the UK! Keep entertaining me with powerful calibers, unique weapons like these as well as your usual shenaniganry, Scott!
- Ash
Scott, every day you post a video it's a better day. Thank you for being the incredible person and character that you are. You have a gift for bringing joy to all our lives.
💯 even if i didn't like guns, i'd still watch for the skits🤣
Amen!
Hey Scott! Just so you know, not all .22 blanks are created equal. I believe there's a company called Ramset that makes "powder actuated tools" and they make at least four different levels of .22 blanks for firing said tools..
IIRC these blanks can be fired from any .22 caliber rimfire gun.
Something to look into.
Ramset #4 yellow blanks are the strongest of their .22 cal blanks
The yellow ones get stuck in our single shot .22. To much power.
They can, I've got some of these blanks, they work great.
YUP I NEVER KNEW WHY THE VARIOUS DIFFERENT TOOLS TA SINK NAILS IN TA CONCRETE/CINDERBLOCK COULDN'T BE USED AS A TYPE OF PROPULSION TYPE SYSTEM🤔🤷♂️🤨HMM..!!??
@@65coupestang Yea, I used some ramset blanks in my .22 revolver with .22 pellets, and they worked fine. good velocity and fairly accurate.
Arrows have more kinetic energy transfer than bullets, I knew it would go straight through that body armor with ease. I'd love to see you test arrows with a higher caliber round on higher rated armor. Love the work on this channel, and glad to see genie return too lol.
The length of the arrows has them weighing more than a small caliber bullet anyway. That velocity is comparable to my crossbow actually and the total kinetic energy is basically like a handgun, somewhere between a .22 mag and a .380. That razor broadhead is the big difference maker though. Vests are designed to stop bullets, not flying blades.
9mm blank or 223 arrow gun?
@@michaelguerra5888 The length of the arrow also helps to transfer more energy, when the tip of the arrow slows down, the rear of the arrow still has inertia and can continue to "push" the arrow forward - there are some good videos showing them going clear through sandbags!
For real certain Arrows and compound bows can literally go right thru bears
Crazy arrow gun. But funny as well.
I watch your videos now since 2019 and I'm still very entertained by them. It's so cool seeing you over the years how you evolved. I really love your humor and your laughing.
I just wanna say thank you for all the years of great videos and great entertainment ❤
Scott's one of the luckiest people in the world. He never grew up on the inside and landed a job that's basically "Hey. Around here, there's no bad ideas. But more importantly, have fun with it". And I am so thankful for that.
Also. The chronograph thing never gets old 😂
True, though that cheap 50 caliber rifle that blew up was a bad idea in hindsight.
Whew! For a second there I thought a chronograph was going to make it through.
Can you imagine a 22 mag blankmagi
cept when that one gun exploded , that was unlucky
@@aaroncowan6654I was shocked and a little disappointed that he didn’t put the arrow through it.
So many similarities between this channel and my toddler spending a day at home out of school. Im just glad she doesn't have a chipper. However, my house sometimes looks like the range anyway. So nice to watch things being destroyed that i dont have to clean up, thanks Scott!
🤣
😆 😵
Great video, I was surprised to see the results of the speed and the penetration of that arrow. I used to put masonry nails into concrete with blanks but I didnt know how much power they had. Its almost as amazing as my black powder pipe bombs that I made as a teen. Thats about 55 years ago. After we set the first one off, we never made another.
well Scott, you never cease to amaze. Every trial with that weapon surprised the hell out of me. would not have ever thought the car door was possible!
How does Scott keep finding new random guns! This guy is a legend 😄
Convince a gunsmith to make you a .223 blank arrow gun next. You can never be too powerful!

the arrows will explode.
@@vikinglupapunt gun!!
@@deathninja16Yeah it would require custom arrow shafts. Probably steel or aluminum, basically a metal more ductile.
@@tommiefisher2458 it just fires fence posts.
*Chip-O-Matic single handedly keeping the local grocery shop open*
I freaking loved the exciting scream for the new chipper 😂 i need that as a ringtone
Would be cool to see a side by side comparison with a compound bow, crossbow, and the arrow gun.
And a normal .22 with similar barrel length!
I'd like to see that video also, but fyi on average recurve bows are about 200-250f/s, compound and cross bows are about 300-350f/s and this is doing over 400. That being said, the weight of the arrows and the types of head used will make a huge difference in damage and energy transfer so I still wanna see it.
There are also PCP arrow guns. The dragon claw II comes in around 600fps with a arrow
ten point crosbows shoot at like 505 fps
@@beardsmcguiness8463 ravin and other high end crossbows are all around 450FPS.
So glad to see Gun Genie back in action! You have the greatest opening skits ever! Keep the great videos coming Scott!
In the class of CZcams people who spend more of their videos talking to themselves playing other characters, this channel ranks at the very top. Right up there with that Pitch Meeting fella. Well done as always Scott, your channel is grand and I dig it.
My grandpa used to take a single barrel 410 & shoot crossbow bolts out of it. At Close range it was deadly on a whitetail
Scott, you are a true treasure of both the firearms/weaponry community and the general-Internet alike, and your fun-and-informative videos and kind-hearted demeanor are an inspiration and a pleasure to watch: thanks for so many grand demonstrations and awesome videos! Congratulations on the new Chipomatic 6,000!!! 😎😊🥳
$5 says this chip o matic doesnt last past January
In the Yugoslav Wars in the 90s, they used bows and arrows to penetrate sandbagged positions, because the arrows would go clean through them - whereas bullets wouldn't.
Be interesting to see what this does to a sandbag (vs a big bore, ofc)
No we didnt
Crazy an arrow could penetrate but not a bullet 😮
@Berm_Blaster The arrow has an easier time pushing the sand away. Bullets tend to just smash into them and lose their energy.
Hmmm source?
modern tank munitions (APFSDS) are just big arrows moving very fast
I loved it when he put the furby in the chipper. Absolutely hilarious.
I can't see a chipper without thinking about the movie Fargo.
Dude, those blanks are designed for driving nails into concrete. I love them!
I, for one, want to see that slap fight - and we should get Houston Jones, Eddie Hall and Wendigoon for the judges - with the dude from Tundra Tactical and Paul Harrell doing the play by play and commentary.
For sure need side by side comparison of the arrow gun and a crossbow that has a FPS rating around the same. Key is to have a bolt and broadhead combo that is also roughly the same weight for both.
I think the best crossbows are in the 400fps neighborhood
@@mikeschlup5279I have the Ravin R500 crossbow and mine shoots 507 fps through the chronograph. Ten point also makes a crossbow called the nitro 505 that shots around 505fps hence the name.
I think some of the fastest shoot around 530 fps even
@@joshua_JTrue. Tenpoint just released a new crossbow the TRX 515 , It shoots a 410 grain arrow/bolt at 515 fps (242 foot pounds of kinetic energy) . With a 400 grain arrow/bolt it would probably shoot around 525 I'd guess.
@@t.d.roverdrive1378The fastest production crossbow currently is the Tenpoint TRX 515. That shoots a 410 grain arrow/bolt at 515fps. Speed is sometimes misleading as manufactures sometimes use lighter arrows/bolts to achieve higher speed readings. Some manufacturers go as light as 350 grains , But the average weight these days is 400 grains.
As always great post and WOW, the power generated from that rifle to the arrow is fantastic‼️💥👍🏻
I was looking at Umarex Air Javelins and other variants not too long ago. Of course, those are Co2 or pneumatic pump powered rather than utilizing the gasses from blanks.
I always wonder... how can Scott possibly make a better intro than the last one... then Scott fails in enjoyment over a new woodchipper.
It's impressive those tiny .22 blanks put out that much power.
If you go to a hardware store and buy blanks for a concrete gun, they have different powder loads for different bolts and anchors. The last time I purchased them, there was low medium and high power loads.
@@kwhp1507 Using a Hilti impact gun, as a electrician i would shoot and set a 3/8 all thread rod coulping through a 1/2 steel beam, it would set in the beam then i would attach the all thread to it, it used .22 blanks
thank you so much kentucky, and im very impressed with the 22 arrow gun; congrats on 4 mil. subs!
Wow this is fascinating, a good break from my calibers video binges. Great stuff.
I got a few friends that had those made years ago, from an m77 Ruger 22lr. It looks like a regular rifle with the tube over the arrow. It's legit. It shoot 100 yards as flat as anything. Impressed the hell outta me. And you can also buy multiple different strengths of those blanks. And it definitely makes a difference
Tell them if they wanna make it way more powerful (with some slight risks), try the most high powered 22 nail gun blanks they can find. Three or four times the power of a normal 22lr XD
Dude, you are seriously effed up. I LOVE IT!!!! The genie skit at the beginning of the video was hilarious! It may be your best one yet!!
2:06 Mr. Eat your words over there lol
This is honestly a really cool and impressive gun/arrow hybrid.
First, glad to see the chip-0-magic 6000. also seems hungrier than the 5,000. Next the Ruger 10/22 Airgun is AWESOME…. It will pair up nice with my single 6 22. 6.5 barrel. I had no choice but to keep it easy. I broke my hand & wrist real bad….The same time of you 50 cal experience….
Let's just appreciate the effort Scott puts into his videos, he needs to get to 5 Million subs ❤
That's the first arrow firing gun using a blank round I have seen. There are a few compressed air ones around but that one looks great.
There used to be a speargun available back in the 1970s called the Johnson Sub Marine Gun or SMG. It could be loaded with two spears and they were fired with .22 blanks, the sort used in Ramset power powered tools on construction sites. I think there may have been a four barrel one as well. They were made in the USA and then a New Zealand company bought them and produced them in New Zealand for a while. They ended up being banned for spearfishing in many counties so they stopped making them.
Omg ily for putting the chip o matic in there 😅😁😆you're laugh is priceless Scott ✌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
2:20 that "H'oh" sound is reserved exclusively for the coolest things men have seen (yes). i'm already convinced i need this.
If that's how much damage it can do with a regular .22 blank, I can't imagine how crazy it could get with a blank .22 magnum!
I don think he needs any new scars on his neck.
Man that thing really had a chance at being totally badass. It passed the test.
Way cooler than I thought it would be. Impressive.
That thing is badass!! I think it beats the power and effectiveness of 22lr and maybe even a few other low power pistol cartridges. But it's obviously not as convenient as a semi auto anything, lol.
I've been enjoying every one of Scott's since I discovered his channel early this year, and I think this is the very first time a chronograph has ever been actually used to measure speed 😂
Scott makes everyone’s day better when he uploads.
Hey Scott, one of the outfits that sold these was Swivel Machine Works. Well, back in like 96' or 97' the head dude at Swivel Machine Works offered to sell me one of his Airrow Stealth air/co2 arrow pistols to me for $425. So, after I flew to Alaska for the season (I was chief engineer on tug boats working the Kuskokwim, Noatak, Kobuk, and Yukon rivers at the time) I told my wife to order it for me. The dude reneged on his offer and tried to sell her one of these blank firing units. He said he quoted me too low of a price and couldn't sell it to her for less than $750. So she said she'd take it and he basically refused to sell it to her. He was a lying punk and Welsher. Anyway, have a lathe and mill and built both a blank firing arrow barrel for my 10-22 and a copy of the Airrow Stealth!
That's awesome! I've always wanted to get into bow hunting, looks like the perfect time to start!
The Arrow gun is an impressive beast. Never thought it'd pack such a punch.
Would it count for archery in hunting season tho?
@@Mack_Dingo I'm pretty sure it counts as alternative season, since it doesn't really use cartridge ammo
@@Mack_Dingo no string, no limbs so it's not archery
The arrow gun is very interesting and suprisingly powerful. Although you were shooting over very short distances the over penitration was to be expected. It would be interesting seeing how it works at say 25-30 yards.
Thanks for the laughs!
at25 yard which is im geussing 25 meter itll still pen a car door and prob body armor like that too

The two best pre-charged pneumatic areow slingers (airbow by crossman, and talonbolt by airforce airguns) both shoot at about 440-450 fps...

Let the chipping resume!!
Edit: We’re going to need a bigger hopper.
At least big enough to fit a furby.

YESS a SLAP CONTEST!!!
Good video, Kentucky! I love your content! God bless!
Scott, I'm not sure if I enjoy your intros the best, or your video content. One thing for sure is that both put a smile on my face, and more knowledge in my brain. No doubt I can use more of each! This one is a top tenner for sure, that 22 blank packs a punch! Thanks for what you are doing, and best wishes always!
My favorite firearm as a kid was a single shot .22 rifle. It taught me to hit the small game on the first shot. My Father was a Sniper in the Military, and taught me everything. I was never as good as him, but my accuracy was at the top.
Worked with a guy in Oklahoma around 1980. He used a single shot .410 and standard arrows.
Awesome video! I couldn't find any other videos showing the penetration through various materials. For those interested in the accuracy at 50 yards, search for Top Shot Dustin 10/22 Arrow Rifle. I bought the takedown version from e-bay, rather difficult to find the proper caliber arrows to fit, ended up making my own from arrow shafts bought online
Awesome weapon!
Would love to see a follow up video with a sight attached and tested at longer distances. I'm curious to see what the effective range is.
Needs a red dot.
I'd be guessing about the same as a decent compound bow.
Awesome arrow thrower!! Thank you for your time and your content!! Got some serrated ultra light carbon fiber broadheads if you go for distance shots and some ball bearing spinner 125gr thunderheads from the 90's. More than welcome to them if ya want them.
love your videos but i would like a follow up showing just how accurate it would perform (say at 70-100yds) or just show us the maximum effective range you feel it would woulbe reliable and repeatable. Thumbs up, thumbs in!
You want the most penetration from a broadhead, try the Wasp Havalon. Blades are the same scalpel sharp like the Havalon knives, made by the same people, and they're replaceable when damaged.
If it hasn’t already been said, load it up with a custom crimped blank 22 shell. Should be easy enough to do in incremental steps, so you could check each spent shell for signs of over pressure so you don’t go to far.
You would want to check on powder types, or just use the blank powder from unshot shells.
Just a thought 💭
Good luck!
Yeah what could go wrong
It would just shoot the tip of the arrow with the insert, Joergsprave had the same idea.
Taofledermaus tested it out for him and exactly that happened.

The first arrow's reaction is the epitome of why I love Scott. Even when I was entirely Team Matt and had my initial biased hatred for Scott, but when things turned into a huge team up and real collab, I was ashamed. This man is amazing.
When was there ever bad blood between those two?
@@SNELLERIZED There wasn't really but there was a pretend rivalry, where they'd throw shade at each other but then it turned out that the AK guy had lied to both of them to start the beef, to play them against each other so he would become the number 1 gun tuber, they figured it out and went after ak guy/Brandon but it was all just a joke............an extremely obvious joke.
That thing is crazy cool. So much damage from such a small caliber round.
Makes me realize how much power a 22 blank ramset really has
I once took an old .410 break action and cut the powder and shot out of some old ammo and shoved arrows down the barrel and launched them with just the primer. Didn’t work as well as this thing, but it was still very impressive for being just a primer.
Great content as always KB! I would be interested to see how it would do when shot at a windshield, side windows, maybe a standard house window as well...for science
I was most shocked at the body armor results. Curious how high of rating it would penetrate.
I think the body armor would've stopped the small game arrow
problem is it was soft armor, any level of plate armor should stop that no problem
Awesome brother, love to see more videos with this
Christmas came early! 😂 One of your best skits of all time, AND the chippomatic 6000! Loved the shots of the damage to each arrow and head BTW, super thorough!
You should try this arrow gun with stronger blanks…like the industrial ones used to drive nails in concrete. They make them in different power levels. It’d be interesting to see if the arrow is faster or not.
Thank you Scott! My 16 month old son laughed hysterically when you spit out that Gatorade😂
Many years ago my brother and I would get together with some of our friends and hunt in Vermont for both bow and gun seasons. At the local bar one night one of the locals was bragging about getting his deer in bow season. This guy had only one hand so we were curious about how he did it. He claimed to not have a prosthesis. He eventually invited us to his house and demonstrated. He basically had made his own version from a .410 single shot shotgun. He removed the slug and inserted the arrow right into the shell and up against the wad. Rested the gun on his arm and shot at a tree about 25 yards away. We were all amazed. It seemed like it was almost instantaneous and hit right where he said it would!
I am stunned by this weapon. I had no idea it even existed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention Scott. Absolutely love it along with your videos.
There are air rifles that fire arrows, too.

I love your content, I am an avid crossbow and Gun Enthusiast, the Ravin r500 fires bolts at more then 500 ft/s. However using a 22 blank is way more fun!
Darn sight easier to reload than a crossbow too
HEH. West Virginian here; this reminds me of dad telling me about the guys he worked with at the mines using cut .410 shells and arrows to get another deer without having to actually bother buying a bow. Nice to see the non-rednecked version!
I wouldn't say non...lol. I've seen overseas fishermen sniping fish off a bridge with a similar setup but the arrow has monofilament attached to it.
