Absolutely the best version I've ever heard of this song. So stripped down and simple...just like he wrote it. Rest in peace David, thank you for always staying true to yourself and thank you for so much beautiful music. Love you man
My mom use too listen to David at a coffee shop in Pasadena Ca when she was in her late teens. When she told me, I was like, they had coffee shops in 1955?
That is SOUL!!!! Not out to be a bad ass on the guitar, not trying to impress anybody with fancy moves and clothes. Just a guy, playing his song, with passion!!!! THIS IS WHAT MUSIC IS!!!
Thank you for never cutting your hair, for all the beautiful songs and laughs. God is surely separating the wheat from the chaff. And you are the wheat. May you rest in heaven
RIP David. My teen years would have been so much less without your incredible music. God bless you, I bet you are singing with the angels right now. 💔💔💔💔
Loved watching him from the start of early 60's playing is Guitar and his Vocal Range was always Clear. You knew who it was. Seems he never missed his Mark. He always took you long on a ventures ride while on his own Musical Journey. He had his Ups and Downs. But he always brought the Goods to the Table his Great Great Musical Talent. Thank You David Crosby for never cutting your Hair. GOD BLESS RIP.
I know right? I have a guitar and I practice a lot. But as much as I'd do, I'm never going to be good at it. Driving, auto racing, karting and hockey (goalie) are my things!
One of the greatest solo performances in history, with incredible emotion, power and voice control. I can really relate to his performance, as I was 20 years old in 1970, when the song was written. It was the hottest part of the Vietnam war, an indescribably traumatic event in our country's history. The line "I feel like I owe it to someone" brilliantly expresses the sentiment of the song, and makes me emotional every time I hear it.
How have only 28,000 people seen this? This should be in the multi millions of views. Show the little Beliebers/Wand Erections of the world how music should be played. A man who saw it, did it, survived it and came out the other side with his head held high. Legend.
In 76 I cut mine out of respect for my 76 yr old grandpa's funeral It reached my belt at that time when I arrived my relatives said you could have got a hair cut. I don't regret it, wasn't for them anyway. Jump forward 25 yrs dad passed, another cut growing slower now but still respectable 4 inches from belt line, 2022 mom passes gone again only a 10 inch tail. Now I'm pushing 72 heads starting to look like croz. Starting to think like maybe a military cut or a razor. Hope your still amongst the living and the dome ain't shining like chrome. Just remembering.
Oh my word! What a phenomenal performance from David Crosby!! I could feel that performance throughout my whole body wow! Rest in peace my friend you are loved by millions
What a wonderful life he had..... I always wanted to be just like him..... For last 50 years.... Never a frown and almost never cut his hair, so damn cool. Please. Please REST IN PEACE
Mr Crosby, thank you for letting me carry all of the bittersweet memories of my father course through your music. Some were so beautiful, and others not so; you're not hurting anymore. You don't have to worry about a God damn thing and I think that's what's most deserved. Thank you, rest easy. Tears in my eyes writing this as we speak. What a dull start to the year. So. Much. Hurt.❤️🩹
Saw Crosby decades ago at a benefit at the Wiltern in L.A. trying to reopen the Ash Grove. He held the audience in the palm of his hand with his guitar, just as here. Like nothing else!
Woke up in hospital ward in jail Dallas Texas, the bed next to me was David Crosby. Very down to earth man who has conquered his demons. God bless you david
I love David Crosby, I have since I was born in 1967 and still do. He was the real deal and as an artist, he shows me that yes we grow old, but we never have to lose our relevancy or cool. Rest In Peace Mr Crosby....
Oh man, the “yes I am” (2:23)… like you, I’m here wandering the tube looking for crumbs to savor in the wake of his passing. Thank you, brother, for all the heartful memories, for all the challenges presented, for all the depth you presented me. In love, gratitude. Enjoy the weather 💖.
David, angel in heaven, your voice, your music, your very soul gives us goosebumps. We miss you, already; you are the Real Thing, brother. Peace, love and eternal rest are on the agenda. You've more than earned it 🕊🙏🤲🎸🎤🎼🎶
And to David Crosby's work on this, God, Than You, once again. So much of your brilliance has gotten overshadowed in forfeit to the groups acclaim. This has to be one of the better recordings I've heard in allowing your art to 'shine on its own'. ... One man's opinion.
David is a much better guitarist than I’d previously thought. Always seemed to be overshadowed, at least instrumentally by Stephen Stills. This is a performance filled with passion and truth. Thx David. You rock!
When I listen to these songs from the 1970's, I wish I was a little older and could have experienced the cultural moments they represent. They feel so real in a way more modern songs seldom do. Thank you David Crosby.
As a child of 1960s-70s I can tell you when I think back it was a comfortable and secure time ..no real problems, just highschool, summer & friends...none of the bs today 🥰
From what you have written I believe you get it, possibly more than some of us who were actually there. Sometimes I think that we don’t need to be somewhere to experience it. For instance listen to Joni Mitchell’s “ Woodstock” an event she never attended. Enjoy! 👍✌🏾
Letting his freak flag fly.......absolute legend and soul of the scene. Yes he was far from perfect but who is. Funny you couldn't always pick his voice in the harmonies but they were never the same harmonies when he was missing.
Absolutely the best version I've ever heard of this song. So stripped down and simple...just like he wrote it. Rest in peace David, thank you for always staying true to yourself and thank you for so much beautiful music. Love you man
Rest easy, sir. Thanks for weaving your magic so effortlessly through the fabric of our lives. 🕊️
💔
Couldn't say better, may him rest in peace.
Thanks for making your freak flag fly! ✌️
No "production" no dubbing, no back up, just a guy and a fucking guitar. This is true talent and CSNY do it ALL THE TIME!

Fuck yeah man no fuckin doubtafuckinboutit
My mom use too listen to David at a coffee shop in Pasadena Ca when she was in her late teens.
When she told me, I was like, they had coffee shops in 1955?
Literally everything was a coffee shop in 1955. But most did not have David.
That is SOUL!!!! Not out to be a bad ass on the guitar, not trying to impress anybody with fancy moves and clothes. Just a guy, playing his song, with passion!!!! THIS IS WHAT MUSIC IS!!!
exactly right.
Fuck'n-A.
But.... He can play guitar and hit notes most guys can't😂🎶🎶🎶🎶
AMEN!
Well said my brother
I'm 61. all my heroes are going away. so long David.
Thank you for never cutting your hair, for all the beautiful songs and laughs. God is surely separating the wheat from the chaff. And you are the wheat. May you rest in heaven
Che peccato, ho saputo poco fa che ci ha lasciato per sempre il grande inimitabile David. Sono commosso. Grazie, non ti dimenticheremo mai.
Dear David... To honor your passing I will listen, with heart and soul, to your art that has accompanied me in every moment of mine, always... 💔
RIP David. My teen years would have been so much less without your incredible music. God bless you, I bet you are singing with the angels right now. 💔💔💔💔

Thank you DAVID for the great music. I'm 69 and remember it all ,the great times my friends and myself had smoking weed and listening to you .RIP.
This is one of the most beautiful performances I've ever seen. So much presence from one man and a guitar. Rest easy Croz.
I Can't Sing, Thanks for Singing it for Me David Rest In Eternal Peace
Had to come here today and watch this again. RIP Crosby
R.I.P. David Crosby.Rock And Roll and Folk legend.
Jan 21 2023 David passed, love this song. God Bless. So glad I saw him play this live.
This is what makes somebody buy a guitar in the first place.
I know right? I have a guitar and I practice a lot. But as much as I'd do, I'm never going to be good at it. Driving, auto racing, karting and hockey (goalie) are my things!
Exactly. Right on.
one of my all-time favs. what a great song writer/singer! what a life. lots of love to u in heaven
A voice of the heavens. And there it goes. Don't cut that hair up there, man!

70...grew up and got my draft card to Croz' amazing music...LOVE this version. Always amazed that the track on their Deja Vu album was a first take!

Best kept secret on the internet

Respects David, shine on above us ..🌟😥
True Talent. A great example of the" IT'" factor. He has it don't need dancers, a big entourage , gimmicks, lips synch. True talent end of story
Rest Easy , David …..Thank you
I am 63, my "tail" is half way down my back. I will never get another hair cut. Why? Just because there is no longer anyone who can make me.
Exactly where I am at right now with hair to my waist at 65 years of age. I am me, and I am not gonna change for anyone's expectations.
Haven't cut mine in nearly 4 years, not gonna ever cut it short again. Anybody that doesn't like it can kiss my tired old ass!!!
Man, do I hear Ya!!! Same place on my back. And I wear it proud when I'm out! Untailed! "Lettin' my Freak flag fly"...yeah! Thanks, David!

DAVID CROSBY WILL BE MISSED..REST IN PEACE DAVID💖💖💖💖
I love it when in the end of the song he makes a fist and a grin like "I nailed it", like he's singing it for the very first time...
I've watched this several times and hadn't noticed that, lol. Nice
