I like Crosby but, my older brother (15 years older) told our Mom that he saw an old neighbor that I'd hang with once in a while, smoking pot so, I must be smoking pot (I was a Police Sgt. at the time and didn't use). And I thought, my moron brother had hair down to his ass before going in the service and listened to CSN, Moody Blues etc....and he didn't use drugs? He was 40 when he "told on me". What an asshole....Haha!

Last time that I cut my hair was in 1982. Three years later, while touring Europe, I was denied entry into East Germany unless I cut my hair. I read about Malcolm X using drain cleaner to straighten his hair, and I see young Black girls getting disciplined in school for not having White hairstyles, and I think "where are all the White feminists...why aren't they taking a stand for people who don't want to have White, gender- specific hair styles?". Or the right-wing, that is indistinguishable from the East German communists when it comes to gender specific hair styles? Let's face it, White feminists care about White women. White right-wing supporters of McCarthyism, support right-wing White plutocrats. I feel, like I owe it to someone. Love you David. Rip

Forty years ago, in 1983, was the last time that I cut my hair. A couple of years later I was traveling around Europe. I tried to get into what was then communist East Germany. They wouldn't let me in because of my ponytail. Those who hate men with long hair are no different than communists. Several years later I had just successfully defended my PhD dissertation. All that I had left was to turn in the dissertation and paperwork. But I went to the library simply to verify one of my references. A campus cop came by and asked for my ID saying that I matched the description of a purse snatcher. I knew that was bs. At one of the proudest points in my life I was profiled because of my hair! Yet it wasn't the first time, nor far from the last. Now, whenever I get stopped by the police I quickly identify myself as Dr....... Not that I am trying to get special treatment (I don't do anything illegal), but just to stop the profiling (I swear, that has caused many a cop to crap their pants). And I can only guess that it is worse for men of color. I haven't cut my, I feel like I owe it to someone. Love you David, I'll see you in a few years.

David is a much better guitarist than I’d previously thought. Always seemed to be overshadowed, at least instrumentally by Stephen Stills. This is a performance filled with passion and truth. Thx David. You rock!
