Hackintosh is Dead - This is the Future! macOS on PC

- Forget about Hackintosh built using OpenCore or Clover, it's dead. There's much better way how to build a Hackintosh and I will show it to you in this video. Virtual Mac is the way to go. macOS on PC the easiest and also best way. It has so many advantages over "the Old Way" based on OpenCore or Clover, that you should really consider to build your Hackintosh "the New Way". If you want your Hackintosh to be easy to set up, easy to maintain, easy to backup and restore, if you don't want to be limited to really narrow motherboard and other hardware possibilities, if you want triple boot or more with all systems running at the same time without need to reboot, then "the Hackintosh New Way" is the only way to go. :)

I built my first Hackintosh in 2017. I went through the painful Clover method. A year ago I rebuilt my setup and was happy with how it went on with Opencore. But this… this is mindblowing! Looking forward to the next videos!
yes, as you said yourself "this is mindblowing!" :) That's why I produced this video to open people's eyes and mind :)

So what ever configuration you'll show live , it'll be great
So pumped about this! When do you think you'll release the video about how to do this? Also, if my machine came with OEM Windows installed, will I need to get rid of it to support this new way? Or will I be able to run your process on top of that OS? Or at least without needing to delete it
amazing ! can't wait for a tutorial ^^
Freaking amazing. I was considering building a PC for virtualization. So, I'll have to see this serie before build it.
thanks Ricardo for nice comment
When are you planning to drop next video? I'm excited about this idea and would definitely try it on my PC.
Love ur enthusiasm and passion Teresa! Stunning presentation and demonstration...as an old clover user back in the day I concurr about the frustration of updates wrecking ur install that to so long to set up..then i moved reluctantly to open core and have to say, after the steep learning curve, i love it.
i do updates all the time and have had no issue like i did with clover... i;d love to see the method axplained as far as how to.. im game to try it! that triple boot demos was nuts!
This sounds so much more interesting than "the old way"! I love tinkering with my computer and actually bought parts to build a Hackintosh over ten years ago. It worked as advertised but as you stated several times, there was a fear time and time again about upgrading the OSX from one version to the next. Typically the sound would stop working or the network, and so on. In the end I just tired of all research and stuck to my Windows PC. It was all done out of curiosity at the time and I really only needed Windows. I´m looking forward to see what Hypervisor you´ll recommend and use. Yes, I clicked on "Subscribe". Also, I must say I love your energy!
thank you Stefan for your nice comment

@@glenncol some of it will be free, some not ... :( :)
Hi, i'm interested in picking this up and but have some queries.
I have 2 ssd's with windows and os x installed and would rather not re-install.
Can I run the hypervisor from a flash drive and add the physical disks onto the hypervisor as they are and avoid the reinstall?
To run mutiple vm's as you have in your video, do I require 3 GPU's, 1 for each?
if so and I don't have multiple GPU's does that limit me to running 1 vm at a time? or outputting 1 vm at a time?
With this method of running os x, are nvidia turing gpu's such as the 2080 super supported? or do we still need to get an amd card?
Thanks in advance.
Great video Teresa! I just can’t wait anymore for the next one, but in the meantime I have one question, what is that hypervisor that you used for this demo? Thanks for your great job, greetings from Mexico

Interesting video. I can still remember your old videos that talk about it. At the moment I don't run Mac virtualized but I am running Proxmox bare metal on my system and use Windows 10 as my daily OS completely virtualized and I am loving it. Better to make backups, easy way to migrate systems when I change hardware or entire computers and quickly create a snapshot before installing important updates to avoid a major crash. Thanks Teresa - fun and educational as always!
You are so welcome Tim
Nice video, I have a question though: Does this method make it possible to do a hackintosh with any GPU?
That's my problem with doing hackintosh in 2023, thanks to Apple Silicon, now GPU support is extremely limited, and you need a specific GPU (Most of them are too old) to use macOS, I was thinking maybe these hypervisors can "emulate" different GPU architectures.
Thanks!
So can you use this the other way around to virtualize windows on the Apple Silicon chips or does it only work with Intel/AMD chips?
Incredible ! Your presentation is clear and you so well analysed the Hackintosh actual situation that it is a pleasure to look at. Watching your videos saved me so many times on my newby hackintosher. You are the Queen of the Hackintosh !

Thanks for the great video, this is exact what I want. I'm building a new server rack, what hardware do you recommend? And what to choose for videocard? Only AMD is working with Macintosh or not?
each clients needs and workflow is different so for each one I would recommend different hardware. That's for longer debate. Overall in macOS specific AMD and Nvidia GPU are natively supported
Sorry if it was mentioned (I don't remember), but is the setup something like this?
Install Linux as the host computer with quemu and libvirt, and run any OS on top of that as the guest OS? So in order to run OSX you need to run Linux?
Amazing info Theresa. I’m looking forward to the next few episodes. Be blessed for all your hardworking time and commitment. ❤️
Thank you so much for your nice comment, take care
It's very interesting to see Type-1 hypervisor having to be able to display the VM screens on very same "server" machine. Some kind of "thin interface" to select which VM to boot and display. I've managed to run Mac OS on a VM like what was also mentioned in this video, through arch KVM but the "boot experience" is not great. It feels awkward to have a Linux running before you run the Mac VM, although I think there's a way to just script it out to auto-boot, maybe that's what LTT did afterwards. However a better experience would be to have a selection of OS/OS'es you want to boot; although I have no idea on how to fork the display into three monitors. And yes, I totally agree with this video, the future is Virtualization; even Android relies on virtualization.
thank you cyberquarks for your smart comment, it's very rare to see :) 🤘🏼

thank you CMZ_DL for nice comment. I'm glad we are on the same boat :)
I have done windows gpu passtrough with kvm/qemu/libvirt for gaming before and now got interested in creating a hackintosh with opencore. I would say that both methods are somewhat difficult make and if you are more familiar with making it the old way I could see it being easier. Also even if the new way is basically same as bare metal it still not as performant and if you have weak hardware that small difference can matter.

Actualmente tengo la versión del sistema High Sierra (10.13.6) instalado con Olarilla. Mi pregunta es: puedo actualizar a una versión más reciente con el metodo de OpenCore? Necesito tu ayuda
Pavo's OC-Gen-X has saved me a ton of time but I still approach most every OC/OSX change with trepidation. Plus migrating to a Ryzentosh introduced some application issues due to Intel specific code. For those reasons I was already planning to deploy OSX on my Proxmox server but resigned to accessing it with a virtual console. The setup you demonstrate with vm displays on a physical console is a feature I've always desired, in fact just one is enough for me. Can't wait to see how you do it!
