I work in customer service as well at a sporting goods store and i carry out 300 pound treadmills, 300+ pound weight sets, basketball goals, personally spend 15 to 20 minutes at times fitting people to bats or equipment and helping them learn techniques that will help them. Thats part of my job and i am helping the customer the same as a waiter and waitress. So im not sure why they would get tips and the rest of all of customer service doesn't. If it's only because the company is allowed to pay them less then thats complete BS and is the companies fault.

Reports how much he wants to. Kinda like working under the table. You think manual labor you pick up at home Depot parking lot reports the cash you pay them. Hell no.

I bought a '22 Honda Super Cub last year and was planning on driving to Detroit to get it (one place in all of Michigan that had the color I wanted). Would have cost me $200 for a carrier on my truck, plus gas since I didn't have a trailer set up for motorcycles. The dealer said they could deliver it for me if I was willing to spot the driver a tip for the gas since he would have to make a side trip on his run up north. I was more than happy to give $50 for as much money they saved me. He totally wasn't expecting it either.

Local restaurants are doing this on "carry out" food. They automatically check how much extra you gave after already being charged a service charge.
When I tip I don't give them it based on it minus service charge
