  • Among other things, Portland, OR is also known for its food. After eating and more eating in this foodie town, we decided to get some ice cream at Salt & Straw in Nob Hill in Northwest Portland and go for a walk.
Nob Hill is an upscale neighborhood with victorian style houses, great restaurants and shops. It's great for walking and people watching as well.

The most walkable neighborhood in Portland imo. Washington Park is nearby as well for a forest walk 👍

will be moving there in a year...transfer for job. I have visited a number of times and at its core, I think Portland is a beautiful city. Yea...I know about the city's downtown-reputation. Im not phased. I get so sick and tired of society deeming any and everything that involves homeless, folks, horrible and systemic of this or that. I lived in San Diego, for almost 18 yrs. And, just like many people, I had opinions about tolerating the homelessness epidemic there and how it affected my life (wrist on forehead). You know what I did?..I rolled my sleeves up and did some volunteer work for the homeless cause...doing a number of things in the community and a well known shelter there. Once you do that, it makes it easier to look yourself in the mirror, in my opinion..and it makes it easier to LIVE ALONGSIDE THEM.
Go to ANY MAJOR CITY of note, and there is a homeless problem. Portland is not the only show in town, with that problem. LA';s homeless issue is 10x worse and has been FOR MULTIPLE DECADES. SD is getting worse, as we speak...Seattle has a homeless problem.. San Francisco's homelessness problem, hasnt really slowed down much, even with the new affordable housing being built all over the city. So, the root of the problem is NOT homeless people, per say. It starts with unaffordable housing and not enough money and resources, being invested BY THIS GOV'T, in mental health and substance abuse HELP and all the organizations that work for the cause of those who suffer from homelessness and substance abuse.

Portland is a beautiful city. Nob hill seems to have been spared the destructive nature of the fecal matter know as ANTIFA, except for maybe the cow. Love to sit outside at McMinnamins Ramshead and drink a beer on a hot summer day and people watch. Also international rose garden about mile from Nob Hill is fun as well. Nice vid thumbs up.

Good to see. I had wondered how Portland had survived the insane policies of its elected government over the past year.
