Got so baked one time I got lost in Powell's books, ended up flipping through an astrophotography book for like 2 hrs.
Watch out for those edibles 😂
Epic! You took a trip to space 🚀
My dude
Did you buy it?
massive respect, thats a great way to get lost and say fuckit im here lets get into it
I live in Portland and Have been to the majority of these places I never really realized how much I take for granted.
Portland is amazing.
And to all Portlandians all I have to say is -
Stay Weird 😉
Same!
The *places* are amazing, its Natives are not.
ThyAlchemicLove Awesome!💜😊
Most of these places won't exist in a year after nonstop riots.
Portland and Oregon in general the worst. Filled with a bunch of racist white people. I wouldn't mind if Russia nuked it.
Braking Cycles is a non profit coffee shop that helps young adults that come out of group homes that don’t have that many life skills or are unsure on the next step to do in life.
They have a great coffee and have a great mission.
In New York we say cawfee
As I scrolled through the comments I realized It always amazes me how a percentage of the population feels a need to be negative. This article is ""22 to Things to Do in Portland, OR" and as a native Oregonian, I agree with the writer. I've done about 98%, (I've missed some of the food/beverage suggestions.) Nowhere does he suggest moving to Portland or tell you how livable the city is. Portland, like any major city has it's social issues, such as the homeless and traffic, but that is not what the article is about. So enjoy his suggestions and add positive ideas of places to explore you feel he missed, like The Shanghai Tunnels and or The Victorian Mansion. An additional note, while Voodoo Donuts is not my favorite place for donuts, it is unique and features one of a kind donuts. That is worth exploring for nothing else than to check the place out and to say you've been there, i.e. worth exploring.
I agree to a point and appreciate your ❤for kindness, however, visitors should be aware and prepared for the danger and deminished experience due to the conditions our city managers have allowed. 😢 our family doesn't spend time in.many of our favorite haunts anymore. too dangerous
I agree. Compared to the cities on the east coast and Midwest, Portland is much safer.
Why even visit?
Portlanders are mostly clickish assholes!
They're so political they're exclusive to anyone that disagrees with them.
To them a Nazi or fascist is literally anyone who they disagree with.
@@malibu405Don't be honest! They don't want you mention reality.
What about the food carts. I'm a Portland native and I've found some of the best food in town is the carts. Cuisine from everywhere in the world.
Nick Kinler ah they had a indian curry food cart in downtown near the mall i went to when i was a 13 years old best lamb curry I’ve ever had but now it seems like its closed down
A lot of very good food carts but be careful some are very unsanitary.
Same
That famous chicken rice place is delicious 😋
Today, in Portland, I found a miniature food cart toy. I purchased it for $2. Now it lives on my counter. haha
OMSI needed to be on the list
It's a nice place to go but it gets boring after about an hour.
It’s not a list for intellectuals. It’s a list for people visiting who want to do the things locals do.
OMG YES omsi is great
Omsi sucks
Goreon i went there when I was in 2bd grade and I don’t remember much so I went there again for Senior skip day and it was hella wack 😂 waist of money i should’ve gone paintballling with the other group of friends
I’m so surprised you didn’t mention the Pittock Mansion!!!!
olivia bettineski you kidding? I loved it. So much history and charm. Touring the inside was amazing
olivia bettineski okay lmao
He wouldn't know about the Pittock Mansionbecause he probably lives someplace light nose hole Nebraska
Savannah Dodson why?
It looks amazing!
Oregon Zoo great old open air steam train ride through the woods at it above the Japanese Garden and Rose Garden. You can go zoo and depart to see the other sites, than ride train back to zoo afterwards. The woods are just relaxing & magical to ride the train through.
Remember the old Ladybug Theater?
@@DeWin157 I'm 56 years old , I remember the Lady Bug Theater.
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
a place you left off was mt tabor, it's a beautiful park with a great hike, and an awesome view
I live on mount tabor
He listed Rocky Butte and Washington Park so I think that covers the high view points. The thing he missed is walking the Downtown Park Blocks up at Portland State and the Art Museum. That area makes Portland stand out.
I guess they vanish every time I arrive.
Mt. Tabor is also a dormant Volcano!
4:57 The Grotto if you are ever in Portland around the Holidays, it has the most breathtaking Christmas lights all threw out it.
Also Peacock Lane for wholesome neighborhood Xmas lights and hot chocolate and carriage rides!
...”all threw out it” ?!
Hilariously bad English Grammar!
This video made me a little homesick as I lived in Vancouver (just outside of Portland and across the Columbia River for those of you who don't know). Now I live outside of Philly. I miss the PNW.
Portland has changed! antifa and the homeless problem the corrupt city government filth everywhere. Can't go downtown without the chanec antifa might attack you or your car. Portland has become a hatefilled facist city. Thanks to the leftest facist take over
How would we know lol wtf
Yo, I just moved from North Philly to Oregon.
Anika Kaiya Must have been a culture shock. The worst driving State in America to a Cultured State.
Anika Kaiya how many years ago did you leave
I LOVE PORTLAND........................I LOVE IT
I love how much you love doughnuts. Every video, doughnut recommendations!
Great Notion for the beer!! Best brewery in the northwest!
Can’t forget the Farmer’s Market!
Ananaya Alwal wait they don’t have that everywhere!?😳🤯
Saturday Market?
This is the best “what to do in Portland” videos that I’ve watched, in researching my upcoming trip.
Also just explore downtown
@@oliverhoffman4574any specific part of downtown you recommend?
I highly recommend Vista house if any of you plan on going out to Multnomah falls. If you have the opportunity, I would just drive all of the old historic highway 30 and you will see a ton of beautiful waterfalls that are usually much less crowded than Multnomah falls. I live only a few miles away from old highway 30 and i take my motorcycle out a few times a week just to ride that road and it blows me away every time. Also just an hour out of portland is the Mt. Hood National forest. Portland is a disgusting city and i highly recommend spending as little time as possible there. The streets are flooded with used heroin needles...
Quarter world is a awesome place to visit! It's a bar with a cool arcade attached. I always have fun going there!
Does Ground Kontrol still exist downtown? It is a place that matches your description.
We have lived here for 18 years and you have given us some fresh tips. Great work. Thanks.
Thanks for mostly sticking to the touristy places.
I moved from Florida to Vancouver WA and just recently went to the Japanese and rose garden! Absolutely beautiful !!
Absolutely love my birthplace ! I will never leave Oregon until I’ve explored everything here!!
Just wanted to say, been watching travel vlogs for awhile now and you are one of my top 5 favorites for sure. Love that you do the voice over after. Super HQ. Well prepared, edited, and produced. Kudos my dude.
The negative comments are due to the amount of whining you Portlanders do about everything and everything political. Anyone opposite of far left isnt welcome and you know it. That's 100% fascism.
So yes, negativity will follow Portland until Portland can accept different opinions, ideas, and thoughts without resorting to violence, vandalism, and fascism, etc.
Time to grow up.
Anyo
Thank you for making this great & very helpful, informative video for travel to Portland!
Hey Josh, I've recently had a 3 day stop-by in Portland and, thanks to your tips, I was able to visit Powell's, OHSU Skyline, The Stag Sign and Salt and Straw. Beautiful blue skies and beautiful tips. Congrats!!
Hearing you talk about the trams made me think about all the times I used to ride on them when I was younger. OHSU (The college that the trams are connected to) is the place where I got diagnosed with type one Diabetes when I was five. I'm nineteen now and I still go there for my Diabetes appointments. I always like to look at the trams because of the nostalgia I get from it.
such an awesome video! Thanks for all the recommendations. Can't wait to go to Portland next week and check these places out!
I’m planning a trip this year in March. Thank you for this video.
When he mentioned Tualatin I was so happy cuz that’s where I live. Also recommendation #23 go to a timbers or blazers game the atmosphere there is amazing
Have you seen the videos on the Tualatin Valley . org site? A Tualatin Valley Adventure shows how great Portland's backyard is!
I really loved Ruby Jewel for ice cream (Marionberry!) and Habibi for their mezza platters!
great recommendations! Excited to visit
Excellent video. I know Portland well and you have shown it in a great light. Well done!
Oaks Amusement Park in SE Portland. Has 25 rides, a new coaster, a skating rink, food and miniature golf.
I 100% agree.
My kids loved Oaks park...visting Portland once a year they love going to this amusement park.
Telah Grove it’s in Sellwood
@@ameliaeustice7720 Sellwood is in Portland... aka its a neighborhood not a city.
ian mccuaig I know but oaks park is in sellwood
@@ameliaeustice7720 Sellwood is in SE Portland though. I guess I am not sure what you are trying to clarify here.
I highly recommend 'Eem' on N Williams - one of the most amazing culinary experiences I've ever had, serving dishes unlike anything I've ever eaten. And I love 'Cider Bite' on NW Hoyt (so many yummy ciders) & 'Wailua Shave Ice' on W Burnside, both in the Pearl. 'Salt & Straw' had a seasonal lemon blueberry flavor earlier this summer that was mind blowing, but the Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache is a regular flavor that's fabulous. Portland has sooooooo much to offer that I could go on and on
It all looks so fun! Thanks for the recommendations
No problem, have fun exploring!
Thanks going for several days. Can’t wait for the bookstore.
I got a sugar rush just watching those voodoo donuts. Them biscuits though oh my. A video highlighting you’re favorite beers and breweries sounds like a great idea.
Italionmex2015 voodoo donuts is stupid.
Ooooh I’m going this weekend 😍
👍👍👍👍 Thank you for fantastic ideas!!!!!
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing!
We went and used some of your recommendations and appreciated your insight. Loved the Japanese Gardens and Tea House, Chinese Gardens and Tea House, the Rose Test Garden (Washington Park in general), and the Tram up to the hospital. And Voodoo donuts!
I’ve got a couple extra ideas should you go back.
USS Blueback submarine tour - as long as you can handle tight spaces. A lot more interesting than we thought it would have been.
PDX Dönerländ was a great place to eat but our favorite restaurant was adjacent to Occidental Brewery called Urban German Wursthaus, next to the St. John’s bridge.
I live in Portland and I haven’t even heard of a lot of these places 😂🤦♀️
Elena _mere same
Same here.
Interesting how people everywhere don't know their own city, state or country. Usually outsiders or foreigners are the ones who know them best.

Best introduction of Portland I watched so far.
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
As a local, this is a great list. I would add Tasty & Alder for brunch or dinner.
You need to add Sugar Street Bakery and Bistro on this list. Honestly the cupcakes are Delicious and they are named after Portland streets.... Naito, Pettygrove, Alberta, etc. This place is so popular but still a lot of non locals have no idea about it!
Great video, planning to visit this May ! Yay
So informative, thank you!! Heading to Portland in September, can't wait!!!
Great video! You should check out Vista House for sunset! Auhmazing!
Thanks for the suggestion, I will have to check that out!
No please stay in your own state
Vista is the best I rode with my cousin up there at the begging of February and it was perfect no wind nice and cool
Us Oregonians like our wine, beer, coffee, and donuts
"us Oregonians" I bet you haven't been here 5 years
We West Coast Americans are lucky that way.
And moly
@@terkish6203 $10 says he's originally from another state, too.
Wonderful video! Thank you.
Great video, thank you! I am planning to visit Portland after 30 years and excited to see how much it has changed!
You'll become disenchanted!
Honestly, read recent news articles about previous residents returning years later only to have their car's windows broken out three times in a week and all their stuff stolen, or being assaulted by junkies that are in every block and have the police refuse to come to them even if they were shot at!
The Duck House (by Portland State University) is a great restaurant in general, but my fav is the soup dumplings
Make sure you are making between 150 thousand to 250 thousand a year if you want to live there because that's what it takes to live in Portland OR nowadays. Nice place to visit.
Horseshoe 2398 , the median income in Portland is close to $90,000! I just found that out, and now so much stuff makes sense. I now understand why every day is a financial struggle! meh
@@heatherkaye8653$90,000 is about right but the point is, Portland has gone mad over the years on how much you must make in order to live. It's like a bunch of crooks in Portland got together to see what they can do in order to make 10s of millions of dollars off the people.
@@Earthmoonstars-el6rd People are reading Culture of Critique
Well done. Thanks for taking the time to make this and share. Good foundation.
Great video! Thanks for all the tips and advice. 🙂
My great grandpa worked on the St. John's bridge
I live in PDX and appreciate all these places. Your video is so well done! Every single one of these is an absolute MUST if you need Portland in a nutshell.
This is a very helpful video cus you have covered a different spots that I haven't seen in all the other videos about Portland! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. It was a huge help in planning our trip. We loved Salt & Straw and Pine Street Biscuits. Gravy was another hit and we recommend you try it if you haven’t before.
The rose garden is beautifulllll
For the love of everything skip Voodoo...
Never skip voodoo they are ok but use a lot of sugar
theyre pretty expensive
The only good spot on this list lol
They are sex traffickers
Oatmealman why do you say that
I love your videos!! We will surely visit some of your recommendations in portland.thank you!!
Thank you -
great video overview
If u don't live in Portland cause I live here the festival's are the rose festival and cinco de mayo and rose is near summer and cinco is from May 4 to the 6 but beware of the many homeless people oh and busy Multnomah falls it's beautiful
Wow, you just summed up another reason why I can't stand Portland. Was that thing you wrote up there supposed to be some sort of sentence? Go drink some more tap water, I don't think you've had enough...
the beans Art & Music what’s your problem with my home
@@ameliaeustice7720 It's full of fake hippies with all of their fake "love" and stupid LOA religions. It is full of passive-aggressive backstabbers who use you for a free ride. Cost of living is high. California is taking over. All sorts of reasons to not like Portland. I loved it at first until all of the fake revealed itself to me.
No more 'festivals' now it is nonstop RIOTS. Dead city walking.
Great video. I’ll be out in Portland for work but I’m definitely gonna hit some spots you recommend. Thank you!,
I’m going to have to check out these spots. Thanks for the tips man.
Awe man. You missed screen door. Such a dope place to eat.
I have been there before, it is a great spot as well!
For transplant millennial wanna be Portlanders. People only go there because they have no ties to any cultural places here.

My Love... The property developers and the people who especially come to soak into the creative scene. I, and my beautiful friends from way back spent my life starting projects and going forward with another hundredfold. Finally, after 50 years in my hometown, my rent is far too high. Two jobs does not make it. I have no contempt for folks who have endeavored to come here...Love, I meet and love so many. My issue is start your own. I see too many tech people expecting to come to the old contingent. We did this far before the internet existed. Think about how I must feel. I was not trying to be intolerant but I well see now how that comes across. I grew up at the top of Cathedral Park. My heart breaks. Please understand. Gal, what about how your hometown was it that brought you here? XOXOXOXXXXX
Daniela Rivera and Thank you for your lovely and dignified response.
You should check out Jenni's Sacred grounds when you're here next. They have awesome food the best coffee and the owner does a lot of amazing things for her community.
Only had a few hours in Portland. All the recommendations were spot on! Loved the tram ride and Mill Ends park.
Perfect vid! Quick and to the point! Spanks!
Um.. Portland Saturday Market!? (Sundays too!) A fantastic way to experience what Portland is all about. TONS of local artist, vendors, and street performers! Every weekend from March to Christmas!
Portland is a fantastic place to VISIT nowadays. But please don't move here. The housing situation has gotten pretty tough. Instead, bring your weird experiences and the spirit of Portland back home with you! :)
aAh, I love the Saturday market! Living in Hillsboro, it's fairly accessible to me, and I love checking out the new booths
Hey gotta tell you guys I live in Portland and theres alot of things to do if you just walk down divson some of the few places I recommend or PDX sliders de Nicholas montage definitely check out some of the food carts
Thanks for the tips!
Nah, I would rather just avoid Portland altogether. It is too bad, too, I still have legit friends who live out there who aren't from there. Maybe that is why they aren't shitty people?
@@ArtofBrandonTruster Most of the really shitty "locals", came from California in the last 25 years. The actual locals do treat visitors poorly, because they have to deal with the ones who stayed.
Loves the video! Very entertaining and insightful. I’ll have to check out more than a few of those spots. Might even run into you. Cheers!
This is an excellent discussion on what to do in Portland OR. I am thinking of moving there. I love Asian food, so I will have to check that one out!! Thanks!!
Don't forget to get stuck in traffic! What is a 10-15 min drive takes over a hour.
Just try to drive in L.A
spigetfinner 17 L.A is as bad as portland
Yessi Rice ...and the driver stuck behind you is thinking the same thing...and the driver stuck behind the driver stuck behind you is thinking the same thing and the driver stuck behind the driver stuck behind the driver stuck behind you is thinking the same thing....if you’re driving in traffic then your part of the problem that you’re creating...and complaining is not the solution.
Traffic ain't so bad right now..
I live in Portland I love it here
This video was so helpful and really well made. Thank you!
This was extremely helpful thank yooooou!
The Witch's Castle wasn't a house. It's the remains of a public restroom that was destroyed during the Columbus Day Storm in 1962.
I'm so old I remember when Saturday Market used to be the hippest thing to do in Portland. There are still great places and great things to do but there's also too much traffic, junkies and crime now. Guess that's to be expected given it's meteoric growth and influx of people from mostly Cali. If you can afford it and are lucky enough to secure tickets try and catch a Timbers MLS match at Providence Park, built in 1926 and gone through extensive renovation it's as close to an old school English football stadium that you'll find in the US. Now if they would just ditch that field turf and install a hybrid pitch like a real and proper English stadium I could die a happy man. We used to go up to the Witch's Castle all the time as teenagers and smoke weed while keeping an eye out for narcs. Now we just sit at home and smoke weed with our neighbors who are cops, ahh the benefits of legal recreational Mary-e-wanna.
Spot on! Also a Portland native and I remember when Hawthorne started to become super trendy and I was so happy since I lived in the neighborhood. Hawthorne and Saturday market were the place to go for hippy trinkets and wondering around. It's a shame everything has gotten so crowded and expensive, but it's still a super dope city.
Are you old enough to remember the shallow concrete pool that we could wade in? How about the downtown Morrow's Nut House, pre Lloyd Center? Best cashews ever! Speaking of L.C. how about skating on real ice and watching the Zamboni smooth it out while waiting to be among the first on the fresh ice?
First place I ever ate gelato was at the Sat Market when I was a teenager. It was mind blowing.
I'm considering a trip to Portland in November, so this is very helpful, thanks!
Love this! Thanks for the tips! :)
Ahhh I live here I love pips donuts go there all the time pls pls go there if u visit
If you come to Portland please bring extra large garbage bags. It seems we've forgotten how to keep it clean!
The thing I've noticed in Portland is a lack of public garbage cans (atleast on eastside). If you have some trash, you better be prepared to schlep it around with you until you get home.
Great video! Thank you!!!
This place is absolutely gorgeous!! I love being here in Oregon
Hav u watched the news for the past 2 yrs? Lol it was before Antifa took over
@@slapshot68 Antifa took over? There is no more government except Antifa? Wow. I actually didn't know.
The Bonneville fist hatchery near Bonneville dam is a spot not to be missed, i think!
And watch how few fish actually make it through the dam system. I went as a kid and it was teaming with salmon. Not anymore. The dams (and over fishing and pollution) are killing them off.
It’s mostly because of the sea lions, they have swam all the way up to the dam and eat the fish. But they are considered endangered and cannot be killed, or removed.
Alright I'm a Portland local and still found this video actually useful.
Am from Atlanta need a plug-in from out there
What about the art museum,OMSI i didn’t seem that on the list
Thank you so much for this. Im going to Portland this summer
All these places are amazing (especially pok pok-so delicious!) Also got a few ideas of places I want to go on weekends now. :)
You forgot to say about Oregon zoo, Cristal Spring Garden and 7 waterfalls.
oaks park 🤷🏽♀️
The one zoo where the animals are actually out and playing. Unlike L.A and San Diego zoos.
Yailen soto there’s theme parks everywhere and oaks park is pretty average
I don’t think our zoo is much better than any other zoo
All of Portland, OR is now a zoo with the animals wearing black clothing and killing/looting/burning the city to the ground.
People are so aggressive 😂 Portland is a great city with lots to offer! It's a reasonably affordable city to visit compared to other touristy cities. It's fun and quirky. It's no more dangerous or drug ridden than other big cities 🤷🏼♀️ Good video
You obviously don't live in Portland.
I do, and besides nutty tramps, it’s great
Well said Rachael! It's a beautiful city, the whole nation is going through something but we're just fine! ☺
Thank you sharing!
The best tour video thanks
