    I lived in Portland for 4 years and never got bored. I even surfed and snow skiied on the same day......in the summer! If you have limited time there, both Mt Rainier and Olympic National Parks are actually closer to Portland than Crater Lake, even though they're in Washington State. I would also highly recommend riding the aeriel tram at the South Waterfront, and touring the submarine and taking a jet boat ride at the OMSI.

    Thanks for the video. Quite good. Why did you think it was funny to see people meditating at the Japanese Garden ? It is a most Zen place. Many gardens like this in Japan are part of Zen temples.

      @katieblake  Před 2 lety +1

      I actually have a pair of real hiking boots! They definitely came in handy but a pair of sneakers would honestly be fine too! They might get a little dusty on the trails. Hiking boots do offer a little more support when things get kind of rough on a path. Hope you have a great trip!! 😁

    I’m planning a trip to Portland mid March. Do you happen to know what are the best places to visit with my pregnant wife (should be around five month around that time) and my four year old?

    • @kennethhaskett3322
      @kennethhaskett3322 Před 2 lety +1

      From Portland, visit screen door for breakfast. They have two locations. One in downtown Portland and one in south east Portland. Walk Hawthorne street shops (also in south east Portland). Go to the rose gardens and Japanese gardens! You can drive up hill to parking lots. Fairly easy walking from that point on. Pittock mansion is a must do and easy access by driving up to parking lot as well. Go to salt and straw for ice cream 100%. I also tell a lot of people from out of state to go to Pips Donuts. Voo doo donuts is a bigger tourist place to go but has dropped in quality a lot over the years due to it. Pips is so good and it’s in south east Portland as well. Always got to make a stop at burgerville as well. Really good seasonal milk shakes. Last I would suggest going to historic Columbia highway and going to the main lookout on it! Also a really cool fish hatchery near there as well.
