Literally trash songs were being played which consisted of sampling and were dance tracks not pop music. TOTP played such mediocre songs that manufactured songs entered the charts. I grew up watching the charts in the 80s every thursday since the 70s.

Was in Hospital in for months aged 12 in 1983 when this was out! Pop music helped me through the bad times and the love affair continues to this day. The 80's and pop music were uniquely perfect!! Peace to all! X

I listened to Capital radio all day in the ward, the two tracks that I remember always being played were 'lets dance' by David Bowie and 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet. Saw them supporting Madness in 81 at Sheffield City Hall. One of the highlights of my youth. Madness played out with It must be love, it hadn't even been released then.
This song takes me right back to the day in 1983 when I was 18 and I was sitting in a cafe in the Kings Road ( World End ) waiting to complete and collect the keys to my first flat ( Yeah in those days you could buy your own place at 18 if you had the balls, a decent job and a 10% deposit.) This song was playing on the radio...That day was the start of a fantastic journey through the 80's living in central London.
