Saw her perform in Southampton last night. She recently turned 60 but she looked & sang brilliantly. It only took me 40yrs to finally see her, but well worth the wait.

Altered Images played at Lancaster in 1982 and of all the gigs I went to that year theirs is the one I still remember. The band was on top form, and played a blinder, but Clare made the whole thing special. That voice, that face, that figure - she was totally wonderful. I wish there was a video record of that night.
It was May 11th 1982 - it's on this tour programme/poster that someone posted on Twitter - photos of band members and handwritten messages from Clare and the others. Clare wrote this song along with her husband to be in the group. It is a very special song and it means a lot to her. I watched her perform this live at Croxteth County Park in Liverpool summer 2019 and the whole group were just as good as they were back in the 80’s. A sheer delight 😀👍👌

I was introduced to Altered Images in college via a friend's mix tape, though I could have heard them in real time if I had been more clued in. But it wasn't until last year that I discovered this song. What a perfect distillation of everything we love about the ALT 80s. This has become maybe my all time favorite song. The vocals, the lyrics, the band's instrumentation. Perfection.
