Mom, can we get Pokemon Legends Arceus?
We have Pokemon Legends Arceus at home.
Pokemon Legends Arceus at home: POKEMON CONQUEST.
Pokemon Conquest is an amazing Pokemon spinoff on the Nintendo DS. Essentially Tactical Pokemon. Pokemon x Samurai Warriors? NO! Pokemon x Nobunaga's Ambition. Oda Nobunaga was a real guy, and sure enough, so are most of the other characters in Pokemon Conquest! So in this video let's explain the warlords! I should also clarify that the warlords are able to use most Pokemon, however, they all have Default Pokemon, as well as Pokemon that they have a 'Perfect Link' with. In this video, I simplify this as "These are the Pokemon they use."

Gnoggin, hosted by its creator Lockstin, is a show delving into the mysteries of Pokemon! (and other games sometimes too). Explaining everything there is to explain! Why is each Pokemon given the type it has? What are their origins? What is the lore of the Pokemon world and the design inspirations? And what does it all have to do with alchemy? Let's Go find out! - Hry
Keshin isn't supposed to be a ninja, he's a warrior monk. He's known as the "God of War", and he's doing Buddhist hand signs.
Thanks for pointing it out, mate, that whole section was killing me.
Beat me to it
AAAhhhh, gotcha! Something felt very off about my findings of him. That hand sign I've always associated with ninjas because of Ninja Gaiden and Naruto. Somehow the warrior monk aspect never came up for me, but admittedly there were SO many characters that I couldn't dedicate a ton of time to individuals. Unforunately because of the whole gag thing I did with him, there's not like 1 or 2 lines for me to cut out of the video with the CZcams editor, so I'll just pin your comment as a correction. :)
It's not arceus it's arkoos
Still can't unsee him about to pick his nose.
Nobunaga with Shiny Rayquaza is the sickest boss in Pokemon ever

I'm upset that he missed... The reason that Mitsuhide has Ice types is bc they beat Dragon and he beat Nobunaga. It's also why Hideyoshi has Infernape, bc fire beats ice, and guess who ends up uniting all of Japan?
Personally I imagine that Mewtwo found himself in the world of Conquest by way of Hoopa and he decided to roll with it.
That or he was made with black magic, I dunno
Yeah Mewtwo being there always bothers me. And it's on the damn start screen, so I have to be reminded of this aberration every single time. What Kenshin, is Cresselia not good enough for you? Or Latios/Latias? Or the Lake Trio? Or Mew? I get not doing Lugia though, because even if they gave Lugia a move that wasn't water type, it would still have an advantage over Shigen and Groudon by being Flying time and immune to Groudon's one move (Earth Power). But your Hoopa idea makes sense, even if it's only a retcon.
how about some human turn into a mewtwo ? *cough cough* dungeon
Maybe some other land created him, or he's just literally Mew's child.
"****ing Celebi..."
There’s some implications that the land of Ransei is stuck in a Medieval time loops. It’s ancient Japan in there but outside it’s the modern day. One character, the grass type warlord, mentions a book describing capturing Pokémon in what was basically described as pokeballs. And given the release date of this game it might be what they were going for
"Imagine if my legacy was, I was just as a big pokemon fan"
Goes on to suggest the video, " Grown Man lists the 20 Worst Designs".
Your scripting and timing are fantastic, never change.
For Mitsuhide, it also makes sense for him to be the ice type trainer as that was the only type (besides dragon itself) at the time that was super effective against dragon, which was Nobonuga’s specialty
Damn you beat me to it lol
I still remember evolving my Eevee into a glaceon to fight zekrom.
Also Mitsuhide was killed by forces under Hideyoshi's command, so the Fire type makes sense for him as well.
Fun fact: In Conquest, Hideyoshi and Mitsuhide actually get some unique dialogue if they both participate in a battle on opposing sides.
@@fixedevening4623same
Easy win though
Kenshin's design was more of a sohei/warrior monk than a ninja and was likely because of his devotion to Shingon Buddhism.
That's what I thought.
I love Pokémon Conquest, the unique battlefields, the historical context, and the music are all so great and unique among Pokémon!
It's the most Japanese Pokemon game. No comparison
It’s the best spin off, to me anyway.
I think there is some justification for Mitsuhide's Ice typing Ina's Empoleon;
Mitsuhide: he was the one to betray Nobunaga, who's a dragon type user in this game, and what were dragon's 2 weaknesses at the time? It's a bit of a stretch sure, but it's still an explanation.
Ina: Being the daughter of Tadakatsu, it would make sense if her Pokemon tied into her father's reputation for being nigh invincible, so a Pokemon who, at the time, had 11 resistances and 1 immunity would fill that role nicely
I might add that with the guy who kills Nobunaga, it makes sense that his Pokémon would be one of the few types that dragon is weak to
And Hideyoshi, who defeated Mitsuhide in battle which resulted in his death shortly after, has fire type, which is strong against ice
Also with Mitsuhide, his use of Ice-types means he's super effective against Nobunaga but weak to Hideyoshi, which creates a power dynamic mirroring history
It really would be cool having a Dragon/Ice/Fire trio even though Dragon is not super-effective against Fire.
They need to make a sequel to the game and add a Fairy type kingdom with Oichi as the ruling warlord.
Fingers crossed.
I see someone else has seen the greatness that is Pokémon conquest.
For those who haven’t even played the games, play both Nobunaga’s Ambition and the Samurai Warriors games. If you want a good starting point, then I recommend Samurai Warriors 4, though Samurai Warriors Chronicles is regarded to be the more historical spin-off franchise
EDIT: also, to explain Kenshin; his armour isn’t meant to reflect his status as a ninja, but rather as a Buddhist. Specifically, in this depiction he is wearing a Sōhei, which was worn by warrior monks. In fact, many of his peers believed him to be an avatar of Bishamon, the Buddhist patron god of warriors.
Also, one of the more interesting facts about Kenshin is that many people believe he was a woman, with many reasons why ranging from never marrying or having kids despite preferring to hang around women rather than men, as well as having his official cause of death being uterine cancer.
I also recommend samurai warriors spirit of sanada, if you want a more focused story of the sanada clan
It’s been forever since I’ve heard about Pokemon conquest, ancient Pokemon warfare sounds badass
Munching oragen is doing a play through of this game on his channel
Now it's even more relevant with Legends coming soon
I've been watching a Let's Play on a friend's channel. Channel name is Green Villains if you wanna check it out
It is
Its basically pokemon chess
Also the abilities got changed a bit to fit the game (some of them)
The warlords and warriors had their own abilities too
Some of which would allow you to move twice
Or heal
And though the pokemon had only one attack
There was so much strategy involved
A lot based around the stage you're one too
@@lillith7257 I wouldn’t gas it up that much, it’s my favorite pokemon spinoff so far often it seemed like the same strategies were always optimal: starting off the campaign by choosing violence. The only time you could face any problems is if you decided to grind.
The most challenging campaign I ever had was my “retaliation only” run where I couldn’t attack someone who didn’t attack me first because you can’t snowball as easily.
I think Mitsuhide uses ice types as they are super effective against dragons, and Oda uses dragons. He killed Oda irl so makes sense he would have a way to kill him more easily.
This game was my childhood! I spent hours trying to find Lilligant’s perfect link trainer (because it’s my favourite Pokémon, not because I was filling a 100% thing)
Own tempo lilligant is op in this game lmao I even brought one in the last battle and destroyed some of nobunaga's army😂
Oh, it gets even better with life force. She pretty much turns into a melee turret and is unkillable on flags lol
It looks good on Oichi so I replaced Wigglytuff with it
Lilligant's perfect link is with Terumoto Mōri and Urakusai/Nagamasu Oda, if you still wanted it.
@@notIAmPlayer I’m sorry, they have TWO!?!?
Ieyasu also has Registeel in the game, though I can see how that's tricky to draw a connection to. Maybe the whole "regi" = king thing, and how Ieyasu was the overall winner of the Sengoku era in real life?
Yep, you are correct.
Kenshin uses Mewtwo because he was a strategic mastermind. So much so that he was given the name Bishamōnten, a Japanese Buddhism war deity. (This is super simplified here, just hitting the basics). Being considered a god is certainly grounds for a Legendary Pokemon, and fittingly a man who became a god is pared with a god made by man.
The one man who Kenshin considered his equal, as sort of shown here was Shingen. Their rivalry was so intense, that it is said when he found out about the other's death, he committed seppuku because their fight couldn't be finished.
I don't know about the truth of the story, but that's the way I like to tell it.
I know they wanted to give him a legendary but Alakazam would have worked really well considering the Pokedex talks about how smart it is.
Can’t wait for the Pokémon: Birthright and Pokemon: Revelations videos!
I actually loled at this.
We made those jokes when Conquest and Birthright first came out, as this game was older than them.XD
It would be funnier if Pokemon: Birthright will be set in Fantasy Europe and Pokemon: Revelations, modern day I guess?
From what I know, the male protagonist might be based off of Oichi's husband: Azai Nagamasa. Granted, that's fan speculation, but I think at one point he betrayed Nobunaga. So...lose connection possibly?
Oh yeah...! Nagamasa is strangely missing from the game and he wasn't a no-name warlord. Good catch, fans!
Oh, really? I just thought the protagonist character was just a stand in protagonist with no historical connection. I even made a joke comment that he forgot to include the protagonist character in the video because of it.
@@arceus8089
I think it's only for the male that fans have come up with some sort of connection, but it's more of a theory.
@@HighPriestFuneral that just made me realize that Katsuie Shibata is also missing, so for some reason both of Oichi's husbands were kept out of this game
@@camil3545 Yea, it's just weird. Other than Nagamasa and Katsuie, Sakon and Toshiie is missing too, and it's not like they're removed from the series like Musashi, Goemon, and Kojirō, where they're now just Warriors Orochi characters.
Mitsuhide likely has two strong ice type Pokemon because he was the one who killed Nobunaga, who is a dragon trainer. So, it would make sense that they would make Mitsuhide's type specialty super effective against Nobunaga, giving him the ice type.
Also makes him weak to fire
Having your right hand to be the one who have your weakness is very foolish, indeed. Thats why they called him nobunaga the fool
@@romusa10 His later in the game general is fire based so, there's that
Pokemon Conquest was basically my introduction to Japanese history. Such a great game. I oughta dig up my old copy sometime
I got the game because I had learned about that era in school that year.
Some charecters are in castles that their type doesn't belong to but still fit because of their real life counterparts like Hideyoshi who, escapes to Nene's castle after you beat him.
Apparently Pineco is part cat, because I've never heard it pronounced as "pie-neko" instead of "pine-co".
I mean, Yoshimoto did historically die when watching a play, when he was on campaign to end the Oda clan.
Did it involve kimari?
Note for Kenshin: I have no idea how you missed this by calling him a ninja, but clan Uesugi was known for their warrior monks which is what Kenshin is designed to resemble. It also is what ties on his psychic typing.
Was I the only one that when Legends Arceus was first announced, I thought we was finally getting a new Pokémon Conquest? 😭 Anywho thank you for the video. Very informative.
I thought so as well I actually gasp cause i thought it was conquest 2
when Legends Arceus was announced Conquest was the game I first thought of
Muneshige: “I am the best samurai in western Japan!” *refuses to elaborate further, leaves* 💪
8:33 See you in a few months when Conquest is referenced in Legends Arceus' flavor text (eh it's just a hope of mine)
But also Shield's Aggron Pokedex references Ieyasu. "Long ago, there was a king who wore a helmet meant to resemble the head of an Aggron. He was trying to channel the Pokémon's strength."
Hero and Heroine in Masters When? :P (I kid of course, they won't even add the Let's Go protags because Pikachu and Eevee are already in sync pairs)
@@mattwo7 hero and heroine with arceus???
@@danielparakulath6399 yes. Also if they want to be tongue in cheek with the lack of name, they could have the Hero- spelled Hiro join Masters.
0:03 Lol I like how the box art is full of legends and jigglypuff standing there thinking he will beat them up
SO GLAD to finally get confirmation that I'm not the only one who remembers Pokémon Conquest. I was starting to worry that the best Pokémon spin-off ever made was all in my head
One of the best Pokémon spin-offs and a part of me wish’s to have nobunaga in smash with his zekrom
Getting a Smash character from Conquest would likely indicate a rerelease\sequel, which would be great.
@@Alex_1A yeah, this game deserves a remake, re-release or sequel more than kanto in gen 7.
soldiers fighitng with pokemon is cringe when they have weapons
@@alwaysangry2232 you’re cringe
For Mitsuhide he uses ice type that matches up based on him defeating/killing nobunaga
Conquest is a really cool game & concept. This could be a really great remake or do a crossover with Fire Emblem or other big Nintendo franchises like Mario & Zelda. A crossover with Fire Emblem could bring about some very "intriguing" possibilities
Originally tokyo mirage sessions(think of persona and BTS getting it on and bringing this into the world) was going to be a fire emblem and Pokémon crossover
Heck, since it was a game done alongside Koei, I feel like Pokemon Dynasty could work, as some sort of next installment to Conquest that isn't really a sequel kinda thing.
@@kiwiseatpumpkinpie1709 I thought Pokémon Conquest was originally pitched as a Pokémon/Fire Emblem crossover, and I’m pretty sure TMS was always planned to be some form of SMT/Fire Emblem combination.
@@AzureGreatheart I'm pretty sure that the FE dev team wanted to make a pitch to do a crossover between FE and pokemon to bring more attention to their franchise but someone already brought the idea to do a crossover between pokemon and nobunaga's ambition which the head honchos were already leaning towards green lighting. FE got beaten to the punch. If you want to fact check that for yourself I got my information from an hour long video on the history of the FE franchise. Pretty sure the video was made by this channel
I love this game, but man, I've spent way too long wondering why Mewtwo was there.
My best guess is Palkia kicking him through a dimensional wall
It could be that the region just just isn't with the times, I believe one of the characters said that other lands capture pokemon with poke balls~
*”GET OUT.”*
Actually, during the first battle against Greenleaf Motonari says: "I read that there's some faraway world where people put Pokémon into these little balls and carry them around."
I have never clicked on a video so quickly. I've beaten the main campaign of Conquest so many times that when I saw this I immediately stopped working on what I was doing to watch this beautiful-ass video. Great Job as always Lockstin!
Shady making a playthrough, Lockstin making a video about it. Conquest is getting more popular each and every day and I am living for that. This spin-off needs redemption and a sequel. Make it happen Game Freak. Give us a new gem with new pokemon. Can you imagine a bug type warlord with Golisopod? A fairy type warlord with Florges? A dark type warlord with Greninja? A mage warlord psychic type with Delphox? MAKE IT HAPPEN RIGHT NOW.
Loved this game, especially the character designs! I wonder if they'll remake it one day...
I sincerely hope it does get remade...perhaps with a kind of visual novel style to improve the artwork and cutscenes and maybe just make the towns more explorable.
I really hope so. I want a sequel and pokemon can do it if they remade mystery dungeon and Snap
I would love to see it but only under 2 conditions. 1. Koei is again the one to make it and 2. The pokemon company doesn't breathe down their necks to rush the game. I heard legends arceus was really good so that proves that we can still get good pokemon games but most of the modern games just have something missing. I'm not sure what it is but they don't feel right. And I'm almost certain that it is caused primarily by the dev teams getting rushed along to hit a deadline. They seem to go quantity over quality these days and i don't think they'd be able to do pokemon conquest right the way their going.
Interestingly enough, there could be an exact place in the timeline for Pokemon Conquest, possibly around the same place as Legends: Arceus. A piece of dialogue during your battle against Motonari (the Grass-type Warlord) reads: "Hey, by the way, I read that there's some faraway world where people put Pokémon into these little balls and carry them around! Pretty strange, no? Now, where did I read that...?" This would make sense, as Conquest was set around the Sengoku period (circa 1460s to 1610s). This could mean that the timeline of Hisui takes place around the same timeframe, though this theory could be debunked by further research. This is all the evidence I have though
Hisui most likely takes place around the Meiji/Taisho period. The setting is a parallel to the annexation of Hokkaido
God did I freaking love Conquest as a kid. I still replay it every few years and I ALWAYS have to look up a guide to evolving the Warlords. But still an awesome game I would love an updated version, remake, or whatever of this amazing game.
My strategy is usually get their perfect link, get them to 100% and if that doesn’t work then try it again in their story or after beating it.
If conquest ever gets a remake then keiji NEEDS a Mudsdale
I really wish that Pokemon Conquest got more love and recognition. It is an amazing game, and I still hold out hope, that maybe 1 day, it will get a remake, or even a remastered version for the Switch [or whatever other console that may be in the future]
Their seem to be so many versions of how Nobunaga died, or in some cases didn't. Feels like every time i read or hear about it, it's changed again. Guess that just shows no one knows for certain what happened.
I've always found Hosokawa Gracia's life story to be very interesting. I actually live very close to her original Catholic burial site.
Her husband was friends with "Justo" Takayama Ukon, who was a Christian daimyo. Ukon was eventually exiled to Manila due to his faith. He was actually made a saint just a few years ago in 2016.
When Gracia received the news that Christianity had been forbidden by Hideyoshi, she decided to be baptized in secret. She was eventually killed by her retainer during Ishida's attack on Osaka Castle since she refused to commit suicide due to her faith.
Her death was so unpopular that Ishida's reputation and campaign suffered and this may have had a significant part in events leading to the rise of the Tokugawa Shogunate
Kenshin was associated with Bishamonten and Sohei warriors, so that's where his design comes from and why he gets Mewtwo, who is probs the closest thing to a spiritual god of warriors Pokemon had at that point.

Are you telling me none of the ninja character, or just any character, have a Staryu or Starmie 😑
A pokemon who literally is inspired by throwing stars, celestial bodies, a Japanese monster and has a cry "Hiya"...
First Shadypenguinn starts playing Pokémon Conquest, and now Lockstin is covering it! Nice to see this game getting some attention for once (:
I won't lie. I was addicted to this game a few months ago, where I started from scratch, and it took me ~15 hours to complete the story mode, then I spent another 80 or so hours doing every other single side mission/post game thing [yes... EVERYTHING else], and I have nearly made a complete 100% of the game, and I don't regret it.
I belly laughed when you said “you are what you eat, and he was stabbed in the stomach. Making him a ninja” 😂 that’s great
25:00 Because Ranmaru was a Wakashu, and Shudo was common practice in Feudal Japan .
Ironically his Pokemon have the edge against Nobunaga's.
There is a character called Chacha that uses the blond girl sprite, she could be a reference to nobunaga's niece and Oichi's Daughter.
The farthest I got was in like the third castle or whatever with umbreon, jigglypuff, and a magikarp that I thought would do something
i somehow managed to beat the main story even though i had no idea what i was doing lol
How did you have an Umbreaon by the third castle?
@@saphiriathebluedragonknight375 idk I haven't played the game since I was like in elementary school, I think I left off at a sandy place or something
That's strange considering umbreon is only obtainable by evolving eevee at 70% link (a really high level) in the dark type kingdom (should be the 11th or 10th kingdom you fight & conquer in the main story.
God this game is so good

I actually wished they gave Yoshihiro a cat Pokemon. Yoshihiro was known for his huge love of cats and built shrines for them when he was alive that still stand and are being cared for to this day.
One of my favorite non-mainstream Pokémon games. This video definitely brought back some fond childhood memories.
I think you forgot Registeel in Ieyasu’s perfect link Pokémon. A perfect Pokémon for defense, even more so than Aggron. (Registeel is an absolute pain to unlock and find, though)
I can't wait for you to run out of content and end up doing "all food and drink in Pokemon cafe mix explained"
16:33 probably someone already writed this but Ieyasu also used Registeel in the game (still resembling it's high defense thing)
As someone who plays Fate Grand Order, everytime Lockstin says Nobunaga my brain just goes 'NOBBU NOBBU!'
Pokemon Conquest was one of my favorites too! Hope they bring it back in one way or another
The countless hours of research you put in, so kudos to you on the depth this video brings!
ive been working over the quarantine to 100% this game and I love it the music, the characters, everything is just so great!
This game is somehow one of my favorite games of all time. I still don’t know how I got it but I absolute love this game wholeheartedly.
As a history nerd, conquest is by far my favorite spin off game.
Not sure if you noticed this after the fact, but Mitsuhide's pokemon are possibly Lapras and Articuno for the fact they're incredibly strong ice types that would be able to fight on equal footing against Nobunaga's dragons, to reference the fact Mitsuhide was the warrior that defeated Nobunaga and lead to the whole end himself thing
I love this! Conquest is my favorite Pokemon game, and I just started playing it again recently.
It was really cool to learn all this about these characters, and it explains a lot about what happens in the game. For example, in Mitsuhide's story, he is opposing Nobunaga's army, and in Ujiyasu's story, he opposes the warring Shingen and Kenshin.
However, I must point out you failed to mention that Ieyasu uses a Registeel as well as Aggron.
I hope they remake this, actually it'd be funny to see a hack and slash warriors style game with Pokemon as well.
I need to play this game. It looks and sounds so cool.
Pokémon Conquest was my second Pokémon game (I think) and I loved it so much. Years ago I lost the cartridge for it (as well as Diamond, Black and White 2). I bought the game for $20 a year ago, played it multiple times since then.
Conquest will forever be my favourite Pokémon game.
(Pokémon Conquest 2? Maybe?$
This is the earliest I have ever been to your videos. I love the work man
I LOVED this game! Grabbed it in total confusion in the Middle East lol
Yes we are talking about this, if Legends Arceus is canon and Conquest isn't still I am going to be pissed
Edit: But it makes sense and I definitely didn't forget about Kenshin
I actually started playing this game again about a month ago and REALLY wanted to learn about the real world equivalents to these warlords, so this video is an actual blessing

I love Pokemon Conquest so much! I was so excited when you said you were going to make a video about it! I hope we get another Conquest game. Especially since now we've gotten another Snap game. One of my favorite spin-offs and one of my favorite youtubers :D
A couple of things to add:
Types mattered to an extent in Pokemon Conquest. Mitsuhide killed Nobunaga in history, which is why he’s ice type.
Hideyoshi got revenge for that killing, which is why he’s fire type.
Ieyasu was known for being a very patient person, stalwart like the steel type. He also helped break Ujiyasu’s siege, so steel beats rock.
Kotaro killed Hanzo, so his dark type beats ghost type.
Yukimura singlehandedly slowed Ieyasu’s unification spree, so he’s fire type.
There’s many more than just this too. TvTropes compiled quite a few ones, actually.
Motochika in Samurai Warriors is depicted as a cool pirate of sorts, and during the late warring states period, it was the Chosokabe that used a naval fleet. That explains his water typing.
Yoshimoto is a bit of a gag. In Pokemon Conquest, Forretress is the game’s joke Pokemon, and Yoshimoto as a warrior is not the best stat or ability wise. Despite his fearsome history, he’s best known for dying to young and bold Nobunaga, so popular media treat him like a joke, even though he was once feared throughout Japan. His love of kemari was actually his son’s hobby, who was the actual historical fool.
Kiyomasa has a Haxorus compared to Masanori’s Krookodile and Mitsunari’s Bisharp because he was the highest ranked of the three and Haxorus is (technically) the best of the three Pokemon.
Finally, in Samurai Warriors 3, when Hanbei dies, he tells Kanbei that he’ll always be a light that shines over Kanbei, and the latter has a candle Pokemon. Pretty heartwarming.
A pretty good analysis all-around. I learned a few things too. Did Gracia’s family really wear all black?
This was my favoruite pokemon game and i cant thank you enough for giving it some recognition. I think its so underrated and despute knowing nothing about the collab i played this all the time as a kid
I visited a Castle in Shiroishi a few years ago that according to the tour guides belonged to Date Masamune and they had armor there that looked very much like the iconic one you showed in the video!
That "just like Carnivine" line had me dying
This was such a sweet video about an awesome spinoff game! It'd be cool if you did one about some of the most notable other characters in the game! Some of those, i found, I really felt connected to in the game and After looking them up, it was awesome to see what my squad who took me to beating nobunaga were based on in real life.
I ADORED this game. I still have it and play through it over and I'm so glad it's being talked about.
I like it when you go through content you genuinely enjoy
Love to see this as I just recently started replaying conquest
I remember paying super close attention to all the Shimazu guys' names, and unfort realizing Toyohisa wasn't there. Maybe it was b/c he was too young or sth, but it would've helped when I was coming up w/ my Drifters theme team.
But at least I got the Fighting-type for the Shimazu in general. I ended up going w/ Emboar for him, lol.
Always happy to see this game getting some love. It was definitely one that I just unexpectedly ended up loving the first time I was able to play it.
For Nobunaga, Mitsuhide, and Hideyoshi, their types are based on who beat who (dragon
I love this video so much, Pokémon Conquest is my favorite game and no one ever talks about it, it’s criminally underrepresented and deserves a sequel so much.
I am so happy you covered Pokémon Conquest. It’s my favorite spin off too and I really hope it gets a sequel
Adding to Oichi, in hindsight, it's fitting that she uses a pokemon that would later on become a Fairy Type, considering her role in the game of opposing Nobunaga.
*EDIT:* Also... some details you also missed.
The reason why Muneshige also has an Emolga is because of his ties to Ginchiyo.
Kanbei having a Lampent line is a reference to Hanbei's ties to lantern lights, iirc.
Hattori Hanzo wasn't really a Ninja, more of a Samurai who took command of Ninja.
The reason why Shingen has a fan is a reference to the story of him stopping Kenshin's sword with a paper fan.
....Brah, you mixed up ground-types for Rock types for Keiji's bit.
Adding to why Ranmaru has a Lucario as his perfect link is because it's super-effective against Ice-types, thus making him a better retainer for Nobunaga.
Dude thanks for covering my fav pokemon spin-off!
I really want they make the Pokémon and Fire Emblem crossover that this game originally was. FE has many characters that would pair up really well with pokémons (Sigurd with Rapidash, for example).
Hideyoshi was unlike most samurai or high ranking strategist and warriors, initially a peasant, and his skill and determination were noted by Oda Nobunaga who proceeded to train and help him become the Warlord he was, and eventually even getting to be Shogun, Nobunaga may have been a crazy evil bastardad, but at least he didn't care if you were a noble or just Common folk
I loved this game when I was younger and I love it now. From designs to gameplay it’s wonderful
As a long time subscriber and Conquest lover (I bought it opening day) thank you for finally showing this game some love. Also congratulations on one million subscribers! 🎉
I love this game and for the last... 3~4 months(?) I'm trying to perfect link all warriors and warlords... 275 hours in.
29:57 I personally remember you as the "Oh great source of knowledge". which just happens to spread the knowledge with Pokemon.
Honestly pokemon conquest was literally one of my favorite spin off games. I loved the art style and the gameplay. I found it fun as a kid. Glad to see you cover it c:
Lockstin really gives his all to have a unique pokemon orientated content, keep up with the uniqueness and great content
We need a sequel to this where the characters all use their appropriate Hisuian Pokémon.
