In this video, I'll be sharing essential tips to support constipation relief naturally. There are three fundamental practices that everyone suffering from constipation should follow: hydration, proper anatomical position for bowel movements, and regular exercise. These simple yet crucial steps can make a significant difference in improving your digestion and overall well-being.
Additionally, I'll dive into three advanced recommendations for those seeking further relief. I'll explain the benefits of bulking laxatives like flaxseed and chia seeds, the importance of incorporating prebiotics and probiotics to support a healthy gut microbiome, and the potential use of magnesium oxide as a temporary solution when severe constipation persists.
If you're looking to find relief from constipation and want to understand the fundamental principles and more advanced options for long-term gut health, join me in this video. I’ve just come across your channel and I’ve learned quite a bit. Thank you for that :) Would you consider doing a video on SIBO/IMO and abdominal adhesions being the cause? I have adhesions from abdominal surgery that then caused fecal loading in my intestines(every day since Oct 14, 2020) which then caused IMO, gastroparesis, every.one.of my pelvic floor organs to prolapse, hiatal hernia, and LPR/esophageal laryngitis. The drain tube from surgery also caused Candida. They can’t figure out the motility, so they can’t repair the hernia nor the prolapses bc it’d be pointless. There’s a 60% chance of needing my v***** sewn shut in order to treat the prolapses. I’m 51 :( Desperately searching for resolution.
Thank you so much for this video! I really appreciate the details you shared about taking magnesium oxide in the evening, on an empty stomach and why that matters. These kind of details are really important. And thanks for sharing about maca, I did not know about that. Glad to hear hemp seeds and chia are helpful, I have been using them semi-regularly when I make smoothies.
Glad it was helpful! There’s a few more pieces here but best to keep it simple
@@ByronHerbalist Yeah, break it down. It makes it easier to remember. Looking forward to when other pieces come.
Do you have any videos on stomach acid (increasing it, why it’s low etc). Thanks Todd!
Zinc, betaine HCl and extra hcl from hydrogen (H20) and chloride from sea salt or potassium chloride (supplement or other chloride foods. I have tried drinking more water, I've tried zinc, I've tried betaine HCl but I haven't tried them all at the same time so im gonna put it all together and see what happens. Not a clinician but just what I've read and interpreted.
Looking for where to get Bifidobacterium lactis Hn019 as a single strain. trying to avoid lots of extra probiotics due to MCAS and histamine intolerance and past SIBO history. Any help would be appreciated!!
CanPrev has one called « Bowel Transit » which is just that strain. The packaging looks similar to their multi strain (« Bowl Transit » comes in a box, not a bottle). Can find in health food stores and online.
Excellent tips. Succinct and easy to incorporate. Exercise, movement; and staying hydrated have been especially helpful to me when constipated. Tho' one of my go-to herbs (lately) has been ginger. It's a miracle worker as far as improving bowel motility goes. Thank you for your recommendations! ❤🥰🙏
Thanks cheryle! Ginger is a top herb for me, so glad you’re seeing improvements here. Anything I should cover in a future video?
@@ByronHerbalist I'm thinking possibly -- best travel tips for those of us struggling with a range of GI issues. Traveling can be kind of stressful and it can have us "out of sorts" and irregular. I usually have to bring a small arsenal of supplies to best help support my gut (when on travel) and dealing with a different routine and food options. Maybe that could be an area of interest to cover. 😊
@@cherylecooper906 yes! great input 🙂
@@ByronHerbalist Thank you! 😄
Do the flax seeds need to be soaked before consuming so that they are more lubricating or does putting unsoaked ones in a smoothie lubricate them enough?
I’ve seen both approaches work well depending on the patient
Coffee works almost every time. Sencha Green Tea is a good alternative if you don‘t like or tolerate the acidity of coffee.
Many can’t tolerate caffeine either and decaf is worse for you due to chemicals. Also most w/chronic constipation have other GI issues and very sensitive to coffee.
Good tip!
Hemp and chia doesn't work for me. Any seeds of any kind is bad for me
I would like to know your opinion about triphala?
Love it! Sometimes it’s poorly tolerated by sensitive patients but I’ll recommend it from time to time
What about a diverse diet with different fruit, veg, nuts and legumes. That could be a fundamental?
Love it! Most of my patients with constipation are more reactive to foods but this is a great long term strategy for sure!
@ByronHerbalist yeah I'm the same but I've been expanding my diet slowly with small amounts so my body tolerates it. It's definitely helped my constipation but still need to loose the reflux.
Please help. I'm concerned I have a partial blocked small bowel. How can I clear it?
That sounds like a very specific diagnosis on your part. If you have past experience of this you know you need a doctor, not a herbalist. Get an appointment or get yourself to A&E if you can't
Impacted stool is common. I recommend colonics and/or coffee suppositories and/or magnesium oxide to gradually soften and move the stool
@@humanresetproject This person is not talking about impacted stool in the large bowel which is common. The concern is small bowel which is a whole different ballgame & needs proper investigation. No one recommends coffee suppositories/enemas anymore, they're dangerous.
Is mag oxide safer compared to something like cascara sagrada or senna?
absolutely!
@@ByronHerbalist
Ok thanks 👍
Senna shut my bowel down; dependent on large volume enema bags 😢
@@valeriewestphal2507
I have used cascara sagrada for many years off and on, sometimes every day. I never seemed to get dependent on it, I recently did a 6 day water fast and had a couple of months off working and my BMs became super consistent.
@@valeriewestphal2507
There's more to it than just the senna. I was using cascara on and off for many years, sometimes every day. I recently took a couple of months of working, did a 6 day fast and began walking a lot- my BMs became super consistent.
💯
Thanks Susan! Hope you’re travelling well
@@ByronHerbalist Thank you 🙂
I exercise all the time I use a squatty potty Nothing
Do you possibly have parasites?
If you're drinking tea you're drinking water
Caffeine is a diuretic 😊
I think you need to make it clear to viewers that you're providing general information & are not diagnosing anyone or telling people directly what to supplement with nor are you willing to do so unless they are your patient. You aren't answering people who are telling you their specific symptoms & wanting advice. This isn't a great result & it would be helpful if you made a clear disclaimer at the beginning of your videos. Also as an aside, you quoted the saying that nigella sativa can cure everything but de*th. Well you're wrong because I've been taking it & I'm still here. So obviously it works. 😂
