I guess the best approach is to simply fly naked and buy whatever you need at your destination! Everything is a problem nowadays.

Spent inordinate amount of time on what bra to wear, not to mention the suggestive photographs.
Don’t wear layers. On another post the advice is wear your layers until you get through security to make your bag lighter.
Don’t wear makeup! That’s an opinion. I know no one who was stopped for wearing mineral makeup.

Sounds like most are for security easiness. Agree travel light is great and be prepared but really underwire bras! Been traveling for 30 years and seems every security check varies so much nothing is standard or their equipment! New rules of tor variance tolerance for each airport varies so much it can be very stressful for the passenger. Not Security, just us passengers.

No idea, but your feet could get pretty damn cold on the plane. Also, you'll have to remove them and go barefoot on a nasty floor where everyone else has been. My solution is Crocs and socks. Not a fashion statement but it works !

-I have an internal medical device (surgical steel soft tissue anchors from foot surgery in 2011). They will likely set off the alarms. What's your advice?

#1 - let the security person know your situation or you can request private screening
#2 -pack a mini umbrella and universal light weight poncho that’s travel friendly ( sold on Amazon)

Get a note from the doc explaining the device and why you can't go through the general security. You'll have to deal with a pat down, but that's what they actually tell you to do when you get it or any metal in your body (such at hardware on your bones). You are supposed to have a note from your doc saying you have metal in your body and can't go through the detectors.

Typical of a MAN to tell women not to wear metal free bras when going through security - some women with big boobs need more supportive bras than soft bralets and sport tops - I’m speaking from personal experience and how would he know what feels most comfortable for a woman during a flight?

Flip flops are just fine. Im sure they say that because people don't typically wear them with socks which is whats gross.
Real "precious" jewelry is generally fine to keep on. Never had to take real things off.
Wired bras does not set off the detectors as often as they say 🙄 of all the times I've flown, I've never seen the thousands of women that go through security get extra scanned or pat down. Only if they forgot they put a lighter in there.
