    Being polite and understanding and never be disrespectful are great recommendations for not just the airport, but pretty much everywhere- hotels, inside the plane, waiting at a train station etc.

      That’s so true, the saying is treat people the way you want to be treated. In my life I have found that this is a true statement 🌸and it works.😌

      That must take some of the enjoyment out of travelling I would think. I really love travelling, and the trip to an airport or where ever and then buses or trains etc from airports to hotels I love all of it, for me, it's all part of the holiday but I actually suffer from situational anxiety, so as long as things go as expected or as I was told they would, i'm totally fine but if something changes last minute I get extreme anxiety so I really feel for you that it makes you anxious.

    I fly out of MSP (Minneapolis/StPaul). It's a really fun place. I like to attive early, check my large bag so I can avoid TSA hassles & go almost "hands free." Then I can shop, eat at a variety of great places & still have plenty of time to get to the gate. MSP is also now working on improving the experience for the disabled.

    I have never missed a flight, but there was one time when I almost did, and I honestly don't think it was my fault. They changed the gate not once, but twice. NO announcement was made about it, but they did change it on the lighted overhead sign. Fortunately, I was paying attention and ran back and forth the length of the airport a couple of times and did not miss the flight. It was Zurich to Barcelona, and another thing about it was that my ticket was from Iberia, I had to check in through Swissport, and I flew aboard a Vueling plane. I mean how much crap do they expect the passenger to keep track of and then still say it is all the passenger's fault if not at the right gate at the right time?

  • @louisenilsson8951
    @louisenilsson8951 Před 3 měsíci +36

    To arrive in time is obvious. But when airlines sell you tickets with connecting flights that has very little time for you to get through security and passport control it makes you wonder why they themself don't know better and put a person in that situation where you have to run only to miss your connection and then have to sit and wait for another flight for 16 hours. Is that reasonable? It happens a lot.

      Also ask every person you speak to what their first name is so that, if you later make a video like this, you can name everyone who made a mistake.
      Mark didn’t do that. As a result security gave him a body cavity search and he missed his flight. The good news is security found his lost phone charger in the process. The bad news is he had to lick it clean.

    I always arrive too early. I enjoy watching other passengers running through the airport. I play a game called "Name that celebrity" too. Usually it's mean spirited, but I only share with traveling companions. I've seen Elvis, Sonny & Cher, and others that look like a famous person...

      It’s also funny how others grip about luggage and have to pay etc.

    I would much rather be at the airport four to five hours earlier for an international flight. That way I can relax, browse around, shop, eat, and be relaxed before the flight. Beats the hell out of being stressed, rushed, nervous, and anxious if I arrived just within the prescribed amount of time for me at the airport. You don't know what could happen in a day--lots of people flying that day, issues with your carry on, traffic on the way, etc.

    On the "arrive 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international flight" thing, I agree. But some small airports actually are not staffed overnight (except for security), meaning you will arrive to a place with no way to check in, and not even anyone to tell you are there if you are on the first outbound flight of the day.

      @@vaska1999 Nevertheless it's good to have some masks with you which can be used as needed. The pandemic is officially over, but my doctor's office requires it.

    Being sanctionated by TSA for making a joke etc. is not right. And I consider mosed TSA rule as too much and without any effect. I prefer travelling more comfortable rather than comply to quite a bunch of ineffivient rules (liquids, put of shoes and belts at "security".

      And exactly how would TSA know it was a joke? Every rule TSA has put in effect that you think is ridiculous, is there for a reason. Why take off your shoes and put them through the X-ray machine? Because some idiot tried to blow up a plane by rigging his shoes with explosive material. Why take off your belt? Because the metal buckle will set off the metal detector.
      I'd rather put up with a little inconvenience than risk every life on that plane, including mine....and yours.

      @@LaurelWisniewski Life never is complete safe. I rather perfer a minimum risk than to having to comply to wast number of "rules". This holds true for TSA and daily life.
