Have a set of wobble shafts as they're called,, very handy, have encountered many spots that a u-joint &or swivel sockets. don't quite fit, especially when using power tools
Why buy an entire set of swivel sockets when you can just buy a single wobble? If you're using it all the time, sure buy the actual swivel socket, but if it's just one offs don't bother.
Real trick is reaching that shit when the insert snaps and leaves your socket and extension all deep like up in the underbelly of what it was you were working on due to socket now being semi stuck on the bolt. Good time and mainly time waster. Big advocate for hand starting and cranking by rachet.
I have these as well as extensions with the same head. They are some of my most used tools, as an automotive technician, these are a must. They have made my life much easier at times, and have payed for themselves many times over!
Perfect for drive shafts on trucks. Shaft angle tends to get in the way of getting dead onto a bolt. Especially if you're using a driver with a wide body without an extention on it
I have a few socket wrench extensions with the same rounded edges. Last time I did a transmission job & stacked two or three of them it completely eliminated need for u-joints. Absolute life saver!
For those that don't know what to ask for to purchase, it is called a wobble extension. It's a Super wobble if it does two things and locks up like a regular adapter too
We call them socket busters. The tiny contact area puts a lot of pressure on the socket if you go full tilt, and will bust your socket. I think most people use impact swivels now.
its a wobble socket. cant say Iv'e seen many 1/4 hex to 3/8 wobbles that short but they carry longer shanked ones at harbor freight and wouldnt be surprised if any box store has one like it.
You can find em at the automotive store. On solar, it freaks out my coworkers. They think my socket is always about to fall off, i dig my gun under the array to move an l-foot and go full tilt.
It's not needed everyday but when you need it and don't have it you would do anything to have it for that job. They're not that expensive, so I have a 1/4 and 3/8 wobbles to go with my 1/4 and 3/8 standard socket adapters because I already had a couple williams wobble extensions and loved how they could save the day from time to time.
Haven't watched it yet, as I'm doing Tech Support on two jobs @ Twenty two hundred hours. But my gut tells me you've got something important to tell me, so I've saved, liked, and subscribed in advance. Best of luck Best wishes to U&URS
Gotta be careful with those wobble drivers, if the socket has a thin wall where the drive goes in, it will just round out the socket on the drive side. Personal experience on that unfortunately. A different brand of sockets solved the problem
I like that that one will work as a wobbler or a standard extension, but they've been around for a long time but be careful using it on an impact cause that baby will fly off n hit something or break something you definitely didn't want it to...
I have had the same adapter for years. It's pretty common. You just got to know where to look for them. Home Depot has had them for 10 years that I know of
Ive never seen that except bon an extension. An issue is theres a lot less potential contact area, I'd expect it to wear itself and/or a groove into sockets fast on impact mode. Also a narrow base might allow it to snap easier.
I have made great use of the impact wobble sockets . Snap on is pricey but the best. The wobble plus extensions are nice , on occasion . I still prefer the wobble impact sockets .
It’s a wobble adapter. They have been around for nearly 50 years. Not something new. Only new part would be the shank that allows it to be used on a drill/driver tool.
It's a wobbler and it'll hog holy hell out of your sockets, or if it's softer than the socket, wear out and launch your socket into orbit. I use em on manual ratchets if I'm too lazy to go get a proper swivel but never on high speed power tools.
I had a friend using one of these on his car from my tool set and he kept saying it was a POS because it was wobbly..... I just sat there and watched him until he realized that it locked in place if you pushed in a little more. 😂😂
@@ToolReviewZone - It got annoying after a little while because he was deaf and would ignore you when he wanted you to be wrong and even though I tried telling him he just kept arguing so I sat back and laughed at him the whole time.... After he realized he looked at me and I signed "I was trying to tell you but you didn't want to hear me" and he just shook his head and said "O well". 🤣🤣
We used these all the time. We broke a lot of them, but didn't care because they were awesome for what we needed. I can't find these anymore. WHERE CAN I FIND THEM? Home Depot doesn't sell them any more.
been using Makita since the 80's and have owned 2 of these, 1 i loaned out and never got it back and i still have the 2nd one and never leant out not even to family
Bro just created a black hole somewhere in the universe by putting a Pittsburgh socket and a Makita socket adapter in a Milwaukee drill.
Hahahaha 🤣🤣👊👊👊👏
But yet they are probably made just down the street from each other.
The ol Pittskiwaukee.
It's an impact. Not a drill.
The only thing left was to use a DeWalt battery on his drill
People normally call those wobbles and they’re very very common.
Came to say this exact thing. Glad I saw your comment first!
Perfect name , I callem wabbel extensions
Most folks don't know what they don't know.
@@calitri76 I know, I'm mechanic of 47 years !
@@Louis-kk3toworked at CAT used them a lot
It's really amazing how far a socket will fly off of one of those if it breaks loose
😮 Aye Crumba !
Buy this and hire a quality dentist 😅
They get scared and fly roll bounce and hide with all the 10mm wrenches and sockets
Exactly!!😂
always put in your bite guard when working on vehicles. gives you something fun to chew on while you work as a bonus
We call them woblers and they come in lengths too. Just don't put a lot of torque on them
A swivel socket does the same thing, without the risk of sending a socket straight into your forehead
Have a set of wobble shafts as they're called,, very handy, have encountered many spots that a u-joint &or swivel sockets. don't quite fit, especially when using power tools
Wobble extensions are incredibly common and not any more dangerous than any other socket setup
A swivel socket adds a lot more bulk. This is a much better option when space is restricted.
Ahh yes unless you buy locking ones like ones offered by snap on.
Why buy an entire set of swivel sockets when you can just buy a single wobble?
If you're using it all the time, sure buy the actual swivel socket, but if it's just one offs don't bother.
...and a chrome adapter on a impact driver! The eclipse must have had an affect! :)
I still use these. Theyre at home depot. All the time
3/8 WOBBLE hex drive.
It’s just a wobble bit. They make extensions too they are get for those hard to reach awkward nuts and bolts
Just don't go all full impact mode on the adapting piece. I've broken mine a couple of times. 💙 T.E.N.
You broke them with. 1/4 in impact driver?
It's a wobbly wobbly socket attachment!
It’s definitely “real nicelike” I love that quote!
Pretty real nicelike😂
Took a minute just to say "this is an wobble socket adaptor.
His short is way too long.
I have wobble extensions like this in every size. They're definitely handy. Wouldn't put one on the impact like that though
I live life on the edge
@@ToolReviewZone😂 haha, I love it!
One of the most handy and most commonly used tools in any persons toolboxes. Only had 1 of these to wear out in 4 years. Love this bit!
Real trick is reaching that shit when the insert snaps and leaves your socket and extension all deep like up in the underbelly of what it was you were working on due to socket now being semi stuck on the bolt. Good time and mainly time waster. Big advocate for hand starting and cranking by rachet.
They make a special bit for that
@@ToolReviewZone one that is impossible to use in that hard to reach space.
I needed this on my 5.3
Hit the trigger in flex mode see if the socket doesn't hit you in the forehead.. Hahaha.. Yep I done that once.. Hahaha peace man Rolfie
It's that damn turbo!!!!😎👊
Those harbor freight impact sockets are pretty decent! Got some myself.
A lot of their stuff has become just average now, which is a hell of a step up from the bad old days
I just use my impact wrench if i need to use sockets, but a wiggle is useful!
It's a wobble extension. That's what that heads called
I have these as well as extensions with the same head. They are some of my most used tools, as an automotive technician, these are a must. They have made my life much easier at times, and have payed for themselves many times over!
We always called it a Wobble socket. Super useful!
good ol wobble socket, Iv used many of them from my dads tool kit. mine isnt as complete as his but i do have atleast one in 3/8 drive
Perfect for drive shafts on trucks. Shaft angle tends to get in the way of getting dead onto a bolt. Especially if you're using a driver with a wide body without an extention on it
You can get them with the wobble extention already attached. They are called driveline sockets. Definitely worth it if you use them quite often.
I've found that two extensions have enough play to get that drives haft off, if I'm too lazy to go get my swivels.
I have a few socket wrench extensions with the same rounded edges. Last time I did a transmission job & stacked two or three of them it completely eliminated need for u-joints. Absolute life saver!
My dads favorite words when I was a kid... "dammit boy, you brought me a wobble extension!"
Haha 🤣
That's real nice like!
For those that don't know what to ask for to purchase, it is called a wobble extension. It's a Super wobble if it does two things and locks up like a regular adapter too
Yeah but those 1/4” adapters sheer in half all of the time with any real use. It’s much better to just buy a 1/2 and 3/8 impacts and swivel sockets
We call them socket busters. The tiny contact area puts a lot of pressure on the socket if you go full tilt, and will bust your socket. I think most people use impact swivels now.
Works somewhat like a universal, I've got a free of'em and they're certainly handy in specific situations.
DeWalt makes individual ones that come in 3/8,5/16,&1/4. Pretty handy on evaporator covers on KitchenAid side by side refrigerators.
its a wobble socket. cant say Iv'e seen many 1/4 hex to 3/8 wobbles that short but they carry longer shanked ones at harbor freight and wouldnt be surprised if any box store has one like it.
They still make them & surely are popular❤ 🔧.
You can find em at the automotive store. On solar, it freaks out my coworkers. They think my socket is always about to fall off, i dig my gun under the array to move an l-foot and go full tilt.
🤣👊
I picked one up a bout a year or two ago when you first had it on the channel. 👍✌️
The pitts socket from HF, good value. I've had mine for 8 years or something.
Fun fact: that fixed/wobble design was first invented/sold by Koken tools.
Snap On calls it wobble plus. Love my 1/4 and 3/8 drive extension sets.
I've got one for my bits, very handy. Thanks for reminding me to get one for my sockets. I keep forgetting. 😝👍
It's not needed everyday but when you need it and don't have it you would do anything to have it for that job. These actually come in handy, you can get them at harbor freight made by baur they come as a 3 pack 1/4 3/8 1/2” drive
Haven't watched it yet, as I'm doing Tech Support on two jobs @ Twenty two hundred hours. But my gut tells me you've got something important to tell me, so I've saved, liked, and subscribed in advance. Best of luck Best wishes to U&URS

wobble extensions are clutch for certain jobs. also ball hex sockets
I have the wobble extensions. Great for spark plugs on hemis
I have a bunch of wobble extensions. They come in handy. I don't think anyone I know who actually uses tools doesn't know about them
It's called wobble plus by snap on.

Never thought of that. Good to know. 🤔
I have made great use of the impact wobble sockets . Snap on is pricey but the best.
The wobble plus extensions are nice , on occasion . I still prefer the wobble impact sockets .
But if you notice, they are not impact rated, you will break off or strip the anvil/ head
It’s a wobble adapter. They have been around for nearly 50 years. Not something new. Only new part would be the shank that allows it to be used on a drill/driver tool.

Used this for years for electrical instals
Keep in mind the design is helpful but is weaker, about half the material at the base has been removed in order for it to pivot.
I need to get one of these.
I work on semis and tht thing would not pull a mudflap bolt to save its lifee 😂😂
Called a wobble tip. Snap on sells them still. I have a whole extension set
I'm down to my last one of these adapters. I really need help finding some more. These are my absolute favorite.
Thx for the information. I wondered why it was like that😂
We call them wobble sockets, still easy to find in Australia.
Ahh yes the socket chunker attachment.

I've had a snap on set of these for a 3/8 ratchet and 1/2 for atleast 10 years
Wobble attachment. Been produced for at least a hundred years.
They function exactly like this ? Converting a 1/4 driver into a fixed impact wrench + option for swivel?

Still have wobble extensions and adapters from 40 years ago. Not to be confused with swivels when they first came out.
Got a couple of extenders in the shop where I work and they have that type of end on it very useful especially working on engines
Kingchrome makes a swivel version they're good for pipe bolts where there not much room
Bro pulled a South Park line out
Wobblers. I use extensions like it
I occasionally use extentions with an end like that but have not seen them like that for impact drivers.
Pretty common at least where I live. I got a couple wobble adapters and extensions
Was waiting to let that drill running
The trick to useing them is to get real close to it so you can keep an eye on your work and then just send it😂
Perfect for removing compressors in tight spots.
Good call brother....
been using Makita since the 80's and have owned 2 of these, 1 i loaned out and never got it back and i still have the 2nd one and never leant out not even to family
Oooh. I’ve seen the ones with a ball on a pivot but I’ve never seen that. That’s brilliant
I have that same conversion chart magnet on my fridge. 😂
Is there a benefit to using these over a swivel?
I always called them wobbleheads.
Is that impact rated?
That’s called a Wobble Adapter, you can still get them just about anywhere
Go Clint!
Real Nass-Like!
Hahaha what's up Redd!!!!
First step: get friends.
I used to have em called Dr. Wobble and I couldn't find a single one doing my intake manifold the other day
That’s real naas like!
I’ve had one of these in my pack out for over a year, today I learned it’s secret.
Wobble adapters? I have a set in every drive size.....
Congratulations on being the first to call it what it's colloquially known as, a wobbler.
Gotta love those wobblers.
Great for starter bolts
That’s the wobbliest wobbler I’ve ever seen
Darn! I spent a lot on wobbly impact sockets when all I needed was this😞
Benz tech here, can’t do certain repairs without a wobble set in 1/4”
