Aye Pad. There's this album called Hurtbreak Wonderland by the japanese artist Worlds End Girlfriend. It's a Experimental Album mixing Ambient Orchestral Soundscapes with Harsh Noise and Samples. Don't exactly need a video on it, but you should DEFINITELY listen to it on your own time.. Really AMAZING stuff. Stay Fresh, Pad.
(also a video on the discography of SWANS would be lit)

You should really look into Mid-Air Thief!! They are an amazing South Korean folktronica musician and last month they released new material under the name Bird's Eye Batang!

i think it’s funny how as soon as i read the title i knew parannoul was gonna be here and i’m very happy about that, white ceiling+the album as a whole has been my favorite thing out of music since pretty much the day i heard it last year

    - 아무것도 기념하지 않는(To Celebrate Nothing) is right name of album
    - SoYoong Hwang(황소윤) is also leader of famous dream pop band SE SO NEON(새소년). Tae Sang Cho(조태상) is a great fan of SoYoong, and he always wished to perform with her.
So, finally SoYoong became one of Byul's member. And we became difficult to get ticket of Byul concert
    - If you like 우리는 속옷도 생겼고 여자도 늘었다네(Underwear Band), you have to try 박현민(Park Hyun Min)'s solo project 니나이안(Ninaian)
니나이안's first album, 'For A Little Cruise' is Instrumental Shoegaze/Ambient masterpice known for few korean indie fans
    - I want to recomend postrock band, 불싸조(Bulssazo). They are notorious for anti-streaming services, forbidding cameras on show, emotional guitar play with samples of korean old cult film
you can listen bulssazo's music on 만선(Maansun) only

For some more Korean goodness, check out Most Ordinary Existence by Sister's Barbershop. It's a pretty straightforward indie pop/rock album, but it's catchy as all get out and incredibly performed. Very comfy album.

Nice one Pad! I have been exploring Korean shoegaze/dream pop lately myself.
One band I have known of for about 10 years and always come back to is Vidulgi Ooyoo. Shoegaze/postrock with dreamy female vocals. Love them.

As a Korean myself this is the first time I have ever heard of these artists. I might have to catch up on them later! Thanks for the introduction!
P.S. I highly recommend listening to The Black Skirts(검정치마) and Adoy(아도이) (they're more relatively well known, I believe)

maansun covered on youtube? hell yeah! i've been a fan of underwear band since stumbling across a live video of them in like.. 2009, 2010. it also took me about 11 years to source a cd of their first release, haha. i could discover pretty much all of this great stuff through tracing each member and seeing which other projects they were involved with; jowall's solo project and byul (as mentioned), ninaian's solo project (the other guitarist), bulssazo (afaik ninaian served as their recording engineer for most/a few of their albums), jeong ji-wan (the drummer), plays in hellivision iirc. this is all on maansun though.
another sort of "constellation" which you can do this with is jambinai. tracing some of their members you end up with hollow jan and 49 morphines; two post-rock/screamo envy-esque? bands, and from there you might see combative post and noeazy and the hardcore punk sort of stuff. 49 morphines and hollow jan both had their best (imo) albums rereleased on dog knights this year.
other general recommendations: donawhale - donawhale, daydream - a land of april, puredigitalsilence - circumfluence (but also other choi joonyong projects like through the sloe! choi joonyong is a progenitor of experimental music in korea imo), glittering blackness, fall - untitled (either one is good, but the first one's my preference), loro's - dream(s).
there's more, but i'll stop there. great video!

  • @oldsmobilethompson1658

I hope you're having a great summer, dearest Pad, but we want more videos before the summer's over !

if u r looking for more foreign obscure and unique music u should check out Kunteynir. it's underground experimental hip-hop group from moscow.
i recommend their early tapes like в гавно (2005), вес (2006) and блëвбургер (2007).
it's super fucked up and noisy. all three members of the group are huge drug addicts

I love your content but I think its a shame that some sample of the music you talk about isnt playing in the backgroung. I bet its due to copyright and some YT terms shit but the stuff you talk about is so obscure that no one would enforce the law or it woud be easy to get some formal consent from the artists if contacted. I dunno how this works so Im curious. Did you consider it?
