Thank you for suggesting this! We just got the Receta Oaxaqueña - Gracias a Dios GIN!… Blew. Our. Minds.
I never KNEW you could sip a nice gin neat.
Grilling on the beach, sipping on this, and making refreshing Tom Collins for everybody to enjoy sounds like a dream!
Since you say it has a citrus note to it, it could make a good substitute for tequila in a Jalisco Old Fashioned with a bit of agave nectar (in lieu of simple syrup) and an orange bitters. It could also make a great wet martini... I might have to get some of this!
Before I got into tequila I was a Gin man. I’m from Texas so a cold G&T is so refreshing in the summer. Plymouth is my absolute favorite. Hendricks with cucumber slice ie great too. Do not forget the he fevertree! The tonic is what makes or breaks the drink. Brambles are also delightful
Fever tree is the best tonic water and it’s a hill I’ll die on
@@Cflynn2001 I'll die on that hill with you.
Gunpowder Irish Gin is hands down the best gin I ever had… but I really want to try this. I’m a huge Negroni fan and think this agave based gin would be very interesting in a Negroni
The gracias a dios red label is fantastic - had one of the best cocktails of my life at the Nobu in Cabo San Lucas
The salmon:
2 slices strawberries, muddled
1/2 oz orgeat
1/2 oz yuzu juice
1.5 oz gracias a dios red label
1/2 oz Aperol
Garnished with 3 drops sesame oil, sesame seeds, and an edible flower
That actually sounds absolutely wonderful. I'm going to need to give that one a shot
I love gin and I love tequila, I think I need this in my life.
There are many Gins I want to try outside of the regular ones I buy. I checked my local Total Wine for the Barr Hill and they didn't have it. I'll catch it at some points along with others I want.
Have you posted your cocktails with the St. Georges Terroir gin? I love it too but struggle a bit making cocktails with it.
Ford’s Gin is my go to for Negronis, and I made a killer French 75 with it yesterday.
Best Gin I've ever had is made in Athens Georgia. Robert's gin by Oak House Distillery
If you can.. do more videos with other Mexican Gins like Condesa Gin and Las California Gin! 🎉 Sipping Neat, Making Cocktails, I just want to LEARN!
I wanted to like Barr hill but it was funky with everything I made. Maybe I got a bad bottle but I did find a delicious one by Mojave-high desert was excellent. Need to try their low desert next.
My local stores stocked up recently lol. Our costco had crates of G4 and siete leguas for under market price 🙏
I need to find this to add to my bar. I had no idea agave gin existed. Sounds like a win to me.
It's pretty cool!
Beefeater gets a lot of hate? I saw some of that after the announcement of the U.S. version getting its ABV lowered a tad but that's really it. I think it's a pretty solid workhorse gin that's widely available.
One of the best for value. I always keep beefeater or tanq in the bar
I love all the gins you pointed out. I saw that agave gin and wanted to pick it up. Thanks for the review. I like to sip on Bar Hill Tom Cat.
Happy were on the same page 😁
Agave based Gin, that is an interesting idea. Instead of calling it a London Dry Gin you could call this a Oaxaca Dry Gin.
I picked up that bottle last summer, and we really liked it for the first half of the bottle. By the time we got to the last half we couldn't wait for it to be gone. I'm very glad for the experience, and I do recommend it to others to try, but I don't think I'll be going to back to it again. As a suggestion try using this gin with lime juice and agave syrup. It blurs the line between a gimlet and a Tommy's margarita, and it was hands down my favorite use of this gin.
That does sound like the perfect use for this gin! Thanks for the rec. Why would you say you couldn't sit to be done with it?
@@Lui_Fern It was more for my wife who thought it was too funky for a gin. A G&T is her absolute favorite drink, and this gin just didn't do it for her. And since I have a limited space to store bottles this one became the one that was taking up space that could have been used for something that we both like. I do really like the Gracias a Dios espadin mezcal, and I wish there was a greater selection of their lineup where I live.
Sounds like an amazing gin.
Gotta add that to the menu and call it the Juan Collins
Hahahaha a Juan Collins is the perfect name for it! Love it
The Juan Collins already exists. Very boring drink though, just a Tequila Collins.
I saw agave bourbon in the liquor store yesterday, had a few items on my list already, so I didn't grab it. I've been hearing about a reduction in agave prices, do you suppose that's the catalyst for these products or is it just a trend? How long until we see Busch Lite Agave? Roasted Agave beside the Avocado at the Subway Sandwich shop?
(Edit) Stopped by on the way home from work and grabbed a bottle, Devils River Agave Bourbon, 80 proof and $27.99 for 750 ml.
Try Condesa Gin!
I have in the past! I really like it. Cant seem to find any here in MA
Thoughts on 123 tequila?
Try Tres Generaciones Anejo
please do a video of ranking every cachaca brand /
Vodka cocktails are almost always improved by switching the vodka out for gin.
How good is that agave gin
I literally review it in this video lol....
@@Lui_Fern na I mean like a rating like 1-10
Gin? I never had Gin 🤔
Great video, Lui! But Drunshambo Gunpowder gin is still the king!🎉
Hell yeah! My favorite Bottle of anything.
I love. It as well, but I think it’s a gin for people who think they don’t like gin. My wife loves it straight on a few ice cubes. Trust me when I say that really means something .
I drink Gin because I like it. Not flavored gins . Agave belongs in tequila, not gin.
I've tried various gins in my day. Gunpowder, Hendricks, Bombay, No.3, and so on. I don't think I'll be trying this one.
At least try the gin before you diss it. The purple gin that you said is owned by Wiz is actually really good.
Isn't total wine a dirty business? I've heard the sue distributers to get the price they want and recomend inferior stuff as top shelf.
You've just described pretty much every major retailer in any industry or segment of the economy. Not saying you're wrong, but good luck avoiding stores with such controversies in their business practices.
LUI!!! I need to find this Gin!!! I'll tell you another VERY sippable gin, Gin PiuCinque. Lots of citrus notes with a hint of wormwood!! One of my favorites!!! SLAINTE!!!
You should try Mean Mule Gin out of Kansas City, agave base with Midwest botanicals. It was too odd not to try and I now count it as one of my staple gins.
I second this, it's definitely different but very tasty!
