Awesome ADV Mat. I've had my 390 for about a month now. Your content is very informative and down to earth. This Oklahoma boy appreciate s that. Keep it up.
Great video! I'm going to order from Zana based on this (I have to admit the whole 'send us money this way" link looks sketchy AF, but seemed to work for you). Great call on relocating those charging ports too. Bike looks good!
First thing I’m ordering is a tail rack. All adventure bikes should come with them standard. Mail hasn’t ran in 6 days here cause of the blizzard so I’m not gonna order it until things get back to normal.
There are more options now than before if you want to compare. KTM has one, its pricey. Look at Adv Tribe, I think they have one and Black Dog Cycle Works has dome options. AXP also had one that I like.
I dont ride two up on this bike with an adult, only my 8 year old daughter . I have here hold onto my jacket. The new tail rack still has bars that are bit lower and can be grabbed.
Thanks for the explanation. Can't this be stolen easily though? Like someone just comes in an unscrews the rack and takes the whole thing off. It doesn't seem secure to me. Any views on tha?
I have not heard of anyone having their tail racks stolen off of their bike. If someone wanted it bad enough they could take it. I keep a tailback on my rack all of the time. It would not be easy to steal it.
@@advmatt Actually it's the original KTM rack that seems problematic. They have the screws visible and accessible to anyone. Anyway might be paranoid. Thanks for the reply my friend :)
Thanks for well wishes, I did recover. I was supposed leave for Baja one week after borders were closed, so unfortunately I never made it. Not sure when Baja will happen now. Thanks for watching.
Hi Matt, thanks for this video. really thinking on buying this, one quick question related to the rack. are this able to carry heavy aluminum cases? or this is for soft luggage. thanks!
I only have a hydration back pack strapped to the back. It was what I had that my drone fit in. It is nothing special. I prefer soft luggage so I really dont have a top case recommendation. I am looking at a few new tail bags that I will talk about in the future. Sorry, this isn't a great answer.
Hi Matt, Thank you for video. In Zana website, They said that it is not suitable for aliminum Topcase. Do you have any idea for it? Is it caused from the location of mounting or load capacity isn't sufficient? Thank you.
I am not sure why Zana states the rear rack is not suitable for an aluminium case. I think that is a decision you could make for yourself if you installed it. I have never used a top box so I dont know enough about them.
Not really related to the rack install but there are so few owner/rider reviews on this bike. Have you ridden with a passenger yet? I’m looking for an all around bike that can also ride with passenger for day trips (under 100 miles). Thanks for your videos!
I think it depends on what type of roads, cruising at 55 mph will probably be fine for some day rides like you described. I am working on two review videos and plan to talk about this topic. I have to redo some filming. I wouldn't try to do long rides or do any extended travel two up.
I recently rode 98 miles with my wife on board. According to my tracking software, we hit 83 mph max. She said the Powerparts seat was comfortable. I felt a little cramped wth two, but it was not terrible.

Pannier rack install to follow. I wanted to keep video shorter.
Since I plan on buying one of these bikes soon I'm glad I found your Channel. Keep up the great work!
Looks good, and a better price option.

I was a bit nervous as well but I figured PayPal has security measures to protect buyers, so I took a chance. It worked out. I really like this rack.

I have Zana engine guards on my Himalayan. Very sturdy, lack of instructions annoying. I’ll have to check out their offerings for the KTM.
The passanger isn't going to miss their handlebars this way?

also not related to the Rack....just found your channel and watching random vids. Hope you leg/back/nerves are well. Did you ever do the Baja trip?

I think the tail rack could carry an aluminum case but the side, pannier racks should not be loaded up. They are better for soft luggage.
@@advmatt thanks for the quick reply!
I like to see your top case install, and what kind you recommend for this motorcycle? regards from Querétaro, México!

Thanks and congrats for your channel. I have that one bike! Enjoy it!!

Really nice! What is that side pouch on the lower right?
Not sure if you mean on the crash bars or something else. I did a video on the crash bar bags I use.
@@advmatt yes I just saw that video, they look really nice
How much time did it take to get to the US and how much for shipping?
It took about three weeks. Shipping was included in the price for everything at $214.
Hi,
I know you've only had this installed a short time. Any further feedback on rack at this stage?
Thanks
Not yet, I havent had a chance to do any traveling with it. I will update this message if I learn anything.
