- Today I'm giving you a tour of my huge home in Queretaro, Mexico where I've been living for over a year now. You are not going to believe the price of this thing!

My home that I've been living in since moving to Querétaro is located in the suburb of Juriquilla. It's a large home with 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and amazing views from every side of the house.
This spacious home overlooks both a golf course and a lake and is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods in the entire city.
Mexico is known as a country that's generally pretty loud and that's one of foreigners biggest pain points that causes many of them to move away. However, this home is located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood that's completely surrounded by nature yet is still very close to many restaurants, grocery stores, and services.

I'm still a little puzzled, Jordan. Your place sounds exceptional. Why do you want to move? I know you're in a new relationship. Is it mostly to adjust your financial situation?? Take good care, my friend. I always love your presentations. (I just wish I wasn't so old - 71 now - otherwise I'd move to Mexico.)

$1,700 USD for a studio apartment in Las Vegas? DANG! I rent a studio apartment in a safe neighborhood in Mexico, about five blocks to a beautiful beach on the Pacific Ocean. Rent averages approx. $350 USD per month, including all services.
Technically that Las Vegas apartment is 1400 + a parking fee + other bills. But one has to look at the total cost of renting

10:13 Even in the fanciest house in Mexico, it’s not as common as in the US to have a dryer for your clothes. I think we get used to hang our clothes to dry for so long that we, as Mexicans, see a dryer a waste of money. Beside, hanging them to dry is very eco-friendly thou.
Your clothes lasts longer too.

I love that you give so much information in every aspect of this homes area. Thank you.
He is right about the rent here in Las Vegas where I live. Rent in the areas that are bad have increased greatly over the past three years. If you want to rent a nice two bedroom apartment in a better area you are looking at $2,000.00 plus, and they have doubled our electric and gas heating prices.
meh. You can always buy a place outside of Vegas in the middle of nowhere, and it will be quite a bit cheaper and you can still visit Vegas whenever you want. Although you would have to pay the Nevada Tax of having your next door neighbor be a Trump supporter. lol
Here in Silicon Valley, a ONE bedroom apartment is well north of 2000. But then, you get to live in the Bay Area. Comes down to what it's worth to you personally. There are lots of cheap places in this world but then you have to live there. 🙂

Gentrifying.. Why don't u guys go to Europe instead
@@exposingextremists7786 gentrification is the natural order of Barrios. Either your Barrio is getting better or getting worse. Everyone benefits from gentrification. There are areas that went from scary as he!! In east Los Angeles Boyle heights area when I was a kid. Hard working people who wanted to buy a house moved there. They kept their houses clean, yards manicured. They got involved in the area. They called cops for crimes and told them information. Bad people got put in jail. Crime went down. More decent people moved in. Property values went up and people who had lived there for 50 years could actually sell their houses and downsize. The only people who "suffered " were the homeless, the junkies and the people who worked under the table for really good money, got section 8 and food stamps, even though they made more than I could as a union electrician. The people who had to rent their houses out to section 8, because nobody would buy the house, finally got either good rent or sold house for decent money. The money Americans bring to Mexico, is substantial. It enriches the areas they live. I lived in the same area in Mexico that my grandparents were from. I taught the kids English, put up a basketball hoop for kids in mi pubelo. I volunteered for numerous neighborhood things (volunteering isn't a big thing in most Latino countries) myself and two other expats and a bunch of current and ex policia started a gun club, so there was a safe place for people to shoot without endangering others.

Beautiful home! 😍 Wish I could move there.
I am mexican, and I have family that lives around those areas. The reason why Queretaro has always been considered "somewhat safe", is because in the 90s, alot of the Cartels family members lived there. Back then (not sure now), there was a golden rule that no one was allowed to touch others family members. This is why Queretaro started having less crime and violence over that period. From what I know, all those familes have moved out since the late 2000s, and now live somewhere else in Mexico. Since then, the crime and violence has started getting worse again in Queretaro every year. I am glad that nothing really bad has happened to you (from what I know) while you have been there!
Queretaro is still safe tho
I don't think you're from Querétaro or Mexico to speak badly about your city, you do it to scare people or you do it to annoy

It's always nice to hear from a happy renter or homeowner. It seems to really work for you.
I gave Mexico a chance when I bought an oceanfront condo in Rosarito Beach, Baja California, MX in 2005 for $80k. (That is about a 50 minute drive from the San Diego International Airport.) After 5 years, I sold for $95k and have never gone back, even for a visit. To put it simply -- Hated It.
Why did you hate it? Was it something about the condo or something else?
@@glieseseventen4921 It was for both of those reasons.
As an owner, not a renter, this was a secondary residence for me. My primary residence, and my spouse, were in the NYC area. Strictly speaking, MX does not allow property ownership by foreigners along its borders and coastlines. But something very much like foreign ownership is achieved via a special legal provision, a document called a fideicomiso. By its terms, a MX bank is the technical owner of the property, but delegates full use of the property to the foreigner who buys the property according to the terms of the fideicomiso.
My condo association was not well managed. There were several ignorant, corrupt gringo board members who seemed to think that down in MX they could just do whatever they wanted. MX law had little or no force.
Whenever I went out, I inevitably headed straight for the USA and San Diego. As a guy in my 60s who only visited my place there, I never found anyplace in the Baja where I liked to go other than my condo and its beach access, and I formed no significant relationships with anyone else in the condo or in MX other than my local contractors. (I gut-renovated my condo unit.)
Crossing the border from the USA into MX was easy, but crossing back from MX into the USA was usually an hour-long hassle.
MX law was at times maddening, even when all I wished to do was observe it and be a good resident there.
@@fredphilippi8388do you think you would connect and form communion you lived there FT?
@@djkenny1202 I had lived half my life on the California coast before moving to NYC. The oceanfront condo in Rosarito Beach was meant to be a pied de terre on the West coast, and I wondered if I might eventually live there FT. The home prices in my state are one of the highest nation wide when it comes to percentage of what they were to what they are now. It has really devastated families because wages aren't going up. Affordable housing that is being built are apartments and it really isn't cheaper than a mortgage payment. People are moving because it's unaffordable. If I could, I'd move to somewhere more remote to get away from cities.
I swear in Mexico you could build a mansion with at least 200 thousand dollars a huge mansion and as you wanted no doubt
Stay away from Mexico
@@cruzburciaga9155or, spend 50k and have a nice sensible paid for home.
Mexico is a beautiful place and very affordable. I like to visit once in a while. One really nice place, I think is Chignahuapan, in the State of Puebla, Mexico.
Chignahuapan, Puebla, has hot water springs. Don't remember how much they charge but it was not that expensive. Don't know how it's today.
Curious about the electricity. Do normal 110 appliances that I might bring from the US work? Or is it a different electrical requirement ?
You're fine, it's the same.
Beautiful 🤩 home !! Parota. I think is one of the few ones that termites can’t get into. So very good 👍. And I think 🤔 you should add large indoor plants to fill in the voids. You have so much space I’d put one large plant in some corners.
Wow, I live in So Cal and I can't understand why anyone would want to move here compared to a place like Juriquilla. To have a place like that here would cost at least $5,000 per month if you can find one. Normally though you can have a place on the lake or the golf course but not both. Where are you moving to?
I moved to California 40 years ago from Chicago . My first house Was purchased in Thousand Oaks for 100 thousand. Now it almost 900 k .
glad to hear you are happy in my country
Huskies are so cat like! 😂 What a beauty you got there. And the house is lovely, too. ❤
You mean untrainable, and hopelessly annoying? Yeah, you’re right.. they are just like cats
@Su Ki ok ok, maybe I was too hard on cats with that comment. I’d actually take 10 cats over one Husky any day.
In my opinion, assuming you can well afford the rent for this "beautiful" house you like so much, I think it's a stupid idea to move out and into a new place with a new girlfriend you just met all because of some "history". Setting aside that in a good percentage of cases the new relationship do not work out, both of you should be strong enough to get past the memories of what is there.... it's not like you don't have a bazillion videos on CZcams to constantly remind you both of the past. The only reason I would move out of there would be to move into something nice that is much smaller at half the price so me and my new luv could save for the future and or to enable purchasing a place of your own....with an AirBnB rental operation in place to bring in income when off traveling doing YT videos.
Facts and a lot of truth to this statement 💯💯
I agree with this statement. It's hard but true. And it might even be a red flag. Anyways I really whish you the best of the best, just be careful.
Yes, very true. There needs to be closure
1000% not 100% otherwise it will repeat the cycle.
The success in CZcams is base on how much drama you can create out something or nothing. Here we have a mildly successfully person.

Muy bella y grande limpia. Y sobre todo muy barata ❤
I'm recently subscribed to your channel, and just wanted to say thanks for such an open & easy videography style, and quality. I am considering retiring to MX in a year or two, and your channel will add a lot of value to my research :o)
Yes, I noticed that this posting is a year old now, but so far it is one of my favorites.
What a terrace! I would kill to have one like that
This place is amazing. I would never want to leave there. I love everything about it. 🌻🐕🇺🇸
Ha ha it always happens.no one is asking you to move there! La malinche is always there
Guadalupe? Lol
My goodness such a Beautiful Beautiful Home 🏡
México is incredibel 👍
Yes indeed it is an incredible place to live.
Es hermosa y amplia al estilo muy mexicano!!
Hello Jordan, I love your home. Les deseo lo mejor a usted y a May
Glad to see that young Lady is giving you a chance!
Really large for one or two people. Beautiful 🤩 place to live. I wonder if they have one or two bedrooms available in that area. I can see how anyone could be enchanted by the aesthetic of the neighborhood. I would too. 👍🏻. Another good video.
Based on my experience of over 30 years in Mexico, the home you showed would rent for much more in areas of Mexico where there are more expats or close to a beach. Areas like los Cabos and Cancun a house like that will set you back over $3,500 USD to $5,000 per month depending on the proximity to the ocean.
Why is closeness to the water is a big deal and extremely expensive?
I agree with you but being next to a great beach in the USA is far more expensive. That's an incredible house he showed for the money!
The beach is more expensive my friend. Has more value it depends , but wow in that place for $1700 usd nothing here in Austin a one bedroom unfurnished $1700 usd plus extra washing machine dog
@@DanielLeinhardt not just mexico but in usa proximity to the ocean makes prices go up because of access to beach and that killer ocean view.
Yes, I'm in mexico now and I'm not seeing these cheap prices. And definitely in expat areas it is very expensive. Not to mention, as a foreigner you just might get charged more to rent vs. another Mexican for the same place. In my experience, there are prices for foreigners and prices for locals. Guess who gets charged more?
This is one serious video where you show the true contrast of affordable real estate in Mexico. No wonder you were always high on Juraquilla and Queretaro in other videos! Mexican craftsmanship and landscaping is beautiful. That golf course and lake put it over the top.
Affordable to who not your average Mexican. Most Mexican people will never see a house like this unfortunately
@@irwinmenchaca8128 yes you're right. Only for gringos with dinero
@@michaelkraft218 I'm glad you know.
Any heroin around there
This videos just let the gentrification grow in Mexico. There's a big house crisis in Mexico but gringos can't see it cause they live in their f#cking bubble.
Amen to the robot vacuum. I've got a husky great Pyrenees mix that sheds an insane amount. My shark robot vacuum is a life saver. Also, nice home! Lol
I owe 20k in taxes in USA this year, my accountant told me three of his clients went to Mexico and never came back. I'm considering moving to LA Paz, San Felipe or maybe Porto Morelos or Playa del Carmen. I love the tropical look but enjoy the desert climate more than high humidity.
Consider the Pacific in Baja Sur.
What an amazing place and really very nice views from the windows. It am not surprised to hear you love to live there. :-)
