      And the fact he's a boy. It really had to be an aggressive form, it's uncommon for men/boys to have symptoms and be affected. I'm sorry that poor baby. I started getting psoriasis at 13 during a divorce, and now at 27 I was diagnosed early, still. We shouldn't be showing signs until mid 30s.

      @@charchar2511 it does present different because there are different forms, but it is uncommon for men to show traits. They are usually recessive carriers, it affects women and has a higher percentage to affect women more. My rheumatologist is a man that has Lupus. And while my grandmother had an aggressive form with RA, that she was on mild chemo for killed her, my mom has PSA and mild lupus. I happened to get and have a trifecta of PsA, RA, and lupus. Trying to figure out which one, just the skin one, the immune one, or the organ attacking one...
      Ps you have to get in remission early and stay in remission... I was told they wanted a positive ANA for years, over 14 rhemutoid factor, i was at 13, and 40% of the silver scales on my body before they started anything. I switched providers and now I'm getting control of the flares somewhat. The RH I have now, I swear was sent to me by my daughter. I hurt so much carrying her and she left us early. We don't know yet if it was lupus nephritis.

    STRESS KILLS FASTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE

    • @overacheiver74
      @overacheiver74 Pƙed rokem +22

      In having Lupus myself, stress might kill people at a fast pace which has been proven by the medical profession
. Yet, for those with lupus it is more like being struck by lightning . For us it means massive flare’s of joint pain that are so severe you can’t move or function, swelling and being stiff, more like the tin man on Wizard of Oz. Dryness of the eyes which rubbing them sucks a$$ which for me I’ve been told one more scratch in my eyes and I’ll go blind. The constant fatigue and tiredness along with chest pain, headaches and memory loss, and let’s not forget not being able to withstand the sun which causes an allergic like reaction with all of this it doesn’t compare to a regular person with stress
 what we deal with kills us. I’ve had one organ shutdown, and I am constantly being checked and poked because of the possibility of a stroke
 so yes stress kills faster but for us with lupus and not regular people without it
. Just saying.

    Went to the dentist to get a tooth pulled, and had said that I hadn't been feeling well (not covid). They ask all these medical questions, then took my BP three tines, and each time it went higher. They didn't do work, send me to the walk in clinic, and I got BP meds for the first time. Had gone to the Dr three times before with high BP and they wouldn't give me anything at walking clinic, said I had to go to my primary care physician. So glad I went to the dentist, even though they didn't work on my teeth, I finally got on meds. To me, it was the most bizarre this to NOT get any meds when your BP is 180/90. Anyway, now I'm good.

      180/90 is wayyyyy too high especially if you’re young, you could have a stroke. I send patients to ER if they’re BP goes over 170 and we’re talking about elderly ppl whose normal BP is around 150. Did you ever find out what’s causing it?

      Holy shit! Usually when a patient is in pain there's always one indicative where pain can be "seen" BP is one of them. People in pain will have high BP the standard according to books is 120/60 for men 120/65 for women. Being 180/90 could mean that you were in distress that being anxiety or pain but if after a while your BP kept increasing and not decreasing you definitely needed to go to the ER bc you where running a high risk for a stroke. I am text book when it comes to BP 120/60 the last time I actually had to go to the ER bc I had COVID and I have asthma and I couldn't breath and my inhaler wasn't working my BP was 189/90. They admitted me immediately and gave me meds to lower my BP and give me steroids to open up my lungs. Hopefully i eventually went down with the BP to where they released me but boy I was scared shitless bc I was going to deal with stroke on top of everything else going for me. But I was good. I even told my roommate if I die tell them I have DNR cuz I don't wanna be here no more. 😂😂

    I have 3 autoimmune diseases. The stress is the worst thing. It ramps my BP. I have to go relax if I get to tense or worked up because the stress causes my diseases to get more "active." In a way, I'm stable but I can't do things. My brain doesn't work correctly, and I don't know exactly how to fully explain how disordered my thoughts are compared to how structured I used to think before I ever got sick. I literally have ADHD that occurred in the past 5-10 years which screwed up my OCD. But I'm 42 years old. Imagine structured thinking falling to pieces and being unable to focus. It's hell not being able to say the words I'm thinking about...like they got lost in my brain on the way to my mouth. Also a need to finish a conversation/explanation/etc if I start.

    The blood pressure cuff was upside-down, and the tubing was on the outer portion of her arm. Both issues will give you an incorrect reading. The tubing should be pointed down, and on the inner side of her arm, if you look at the cuff, there's a diagram to follow for accurate readings. Normal blood pressure is 100-120/60-80 for older teenagers and adults. This, of course, varies by your bodies' "normal," the time of day, your pain level , and the amount of sleep or stimulants you've had, but it should fall into these ranges for a healthy BP.

    I have Lupus and have struggled with my blood pressure for years. I actually had to educate a doctor once who didn't understand why my blood pressure was so high during an ER visit. I was seeking emergency care during an especially bad flare and couldn't get in with my PCP and my Rheumatologist can take months to see and she made several very rude assumptions about why my blood pressure was high or why I was "complaining" of certain very real symptoms. If you suffer from Lupus you already know you have to be your own advocate. Most of these doctors are completely clueless about autoimmune diseases. I've been on medication for my blood pressure for 3 years now and I'm 5'7 121 pounds and don't drink or smoke. Clearly I didn't choose for an autoimmune disease to ravage my cardiovascular system. The amount of medical gaslighting you have to endure before you even get your diagnosis is unreal when you have an autoimmune disease. And should you live a fairly normal life despite everything you are dealing with there will always be countless people questioning if you are actually sick. It's insane.

    The diastolic being 100 wouldn't mean she's close to a stroke. 100 is the starting point of bad. Hi also someone with SLE(Lupus) and have to do this several times a day also. Concerning for a stroke would be more like 115/120 and up. The highest mine has ever been was 255/162 and I had to be admitted. Strokes are very scary and a very real thing with lupus thankfully I've only ever had one so far. Idk how Selena still does all the stuff she does. She's pretty amazing.

      I work in medicine and 140/100 is definitely high blood pressure, but it’s not stroke level. Selena seemed a bit dramatic here. I’ve had to send patients to the hospital because their blood pressure was reading at 200/130. That is stroke level

    • @yezenia9830
      @yezenia9830 Pƙed rokem

      Wow! That's a scary high blood pressure. 150/100 as she says is actually what I usually have at the hospital because of "white coat syndrome" . While at home I only have slightly elevated or normal.
      They're definitely being a bit dramatic over a blood pressure cuff, but maybe thats how healthy people are :p

    Coming from an EMT, no. And you can find the range in a simple google search. But staying around 145 or 150 consistently just means it’s time to go to the doctor and evaluate the cause and get treatment. It’s actually not that high but can cause damage over a long period of time. We don’t worry about stroke or heart attack until we get to the 170-180 range

      Might want to find a different doctor. That is great blood pressure. 120/80 or lower is what you want. Heart attack or stroke level is around 180/120 or above but usually they put you on blood pressure medication if consistently running higher about 140/90
