I agree but more then the aritist like a singer idk like when they do live performance im just talking but thanks for the tips 💯
"Show up to EVERY moment like your meant to be there" I never thought of that... this quote hit different.
Starting to ‘piece’ my own studio together one thing at a time. So, I’m really happy you’re doing this and helping people like me, who don’t know the first thing about any of this, by giving great tips and advice!
We all start from somewhere right? 💯
I started my pro career in audio production in the late 70's then stopped to restore antique cars and trucks. Now retired, I have pieced together a small 24 track studio. This is just for myself. 1 Yamaha keyboard and 5 different guitars. I'm coming at this again but from a beginner's stand point. Technology Is beyond every thing we could imagine back then. Thanks for the help. Cheers!
I am so encouraged to see you as I am 63 and just fulfilling a life's ambition of build ing my home studio, but coming in fresh as a means of producing and hopefully mixing my own material to start off with. It's great we have this opportunity. Y wish you all the best..
One thing about audio engineers they make the magic happen to make production sound good. Now when it comes to the vocals they have the super touch
I love how you started with the positive affirmation of banking on yourself. Im 27 years old and find myself feeling sad that I didn't think of learning this when I was younger when I could focus on it more and ashamed because I feel too old to try and start but I want to make music, if only for myself. It's a deep passion of mine I didnt realize until maybe 1-2 years ago and I look forward to learning from you! great intro video btw.
The basics of audio engineering are easier than you think. One good tip also is to use an EQ with a visual representation and an audio spectrum analysis tool. That allows you to sort of "see the sounds", and you can probably learn faster that way.
At the most source code level, sound is just waves/particles and maths. And sometimes computer code and electronic circuits or hardware create or modify that sound.
I'm 27 too, it's never too late to work on a skill.
I just started taking Electrical Engineering classes 2 years ago, now I'm doing a triple major in Computer Engineering and Science too.
@kuroikyuketsuki thank you for that and congrats! I'm proud for you. Along with learning music theory and strengthening my vocal technique, I'm also studying for project management. Like you said, never too late and I'm starting to realize that now!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Hope all is well!
I am posting this comment as someone who want to do audio production in 2021, I will come back and edit this when I will be a producer!

Tell us did you become what you wanted?
@@MrROMMEOswear I was wondering that asw I’m needing to learn things myself
How's it going?
You're explaining it very good, first time I don't wanna skip the intro :)
That's actually what a basic video should cover
Thank you
Ok, I pretty much do this already but, thank you for helping me understand it a lot more.
2:31 you are welcome
the first words out your mouth was the most truthful thing you could possibly say!!! people just dont understand how important your engineer is
Thank you, I was really digging your vibe, professionalism, your positivity and the experiences and emotions you shared that resonate with me. It's so easy to be discouraged when making music, when attempting to learn the science of sound and when one compares themselves to what they hear. It was motivating to learn that you may have also had the same struggles. I'm looking forward to exploring your channel. God bless!
Right on!! I feel the same way about him 🌼🫶🏾
I started recording music and when it came to finally singing into my songs I was like holy shit I don’t hear myself at all, and that’s when I discovered I need to learn sound engineering thanks for this video much love❤
Amen. Piece by piece Sound wizard make the artist sound great shout out to audio engineers
I want to be able to be solo on most of my tracks, so I wanna be the artist, producer and sound engineer so thank you for this video!!
Great information! Thank you I’ll be starting my studies in audio and music production soon. This gave me what I needed to hear!
Dope!
Legendary, I need these lessons!
Hey thanks for this video. I’m not technically “talented” but I adore music. Music was my first love of art. I recently heard an artist say there’s a lack of black women in the engineering side of the industry so this helps in my career research! Thanks brother 💜💜💜💜
I have been unemployed for a long time cos of a back injury. In the years I've been unemployed I found a passion for music and have since been making it, I don't know what I wanna doin life cos I can't do manual labor anymore, was thinking of a diploma in sound engineering.
Hey man, this video was really welcoming and helpful. Ever since we got all that sudden free time when the pandemic hit, I've been learning to play the bass, guitar, and a little MIDI keyboard along with a Focusrite into Logic (very much pieced together, as you said!), so I can eventually cover Rush songs that I love and make little fanmade music videos. I don't have much experience with an actual physical mixing board aside from making on-air radio production in tech school, but I learned some about how to use Logic's amp designers and plugins over the past year, and now I spend ages trying to craft EQs and instrument tones to sound just right. Give me enough time and I can make my jazz bass sound almost like Geddy Lee's Wal! Would love to try a career or internship producing stuff someday.
Great summary of the basics!
Thank you so much for this it was really helpful!!
Thanks alot 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Very important messages
you got me soon as you said i got tired of paying for other people studios... SUBSCRIBED!!!
I really need this.
You're a great help sir
Thx man, this was real helpful!
The way you explained it was very helpful, and valuable information. Thanks.
I just found this. I subscribed. Really interested in this. I’m also blind, so might have to come to the expert and ask questions. Thanks for the videos.
That quote is a bar bar !
Thanks, man. Great video for a newbee like me!
Thank you for the video. Found it helpful.
Thank you so much sir.
Good video, simplicity is an ability!
12 Year Audiovisual Engineer here. Subbing because wow this is dope. I'm so glad resources like this are around now. There was NOTHING like this around when I started.
Hello, could you please help to understand where is the best place to get audiovisual engineering in the UK and whether you see potential of this profession in the world with the AI? Thank you
@@jyldyzread9030 most audio AI's i've seen are mid at best. I live in the usa so I couldn't help.you with the other.
everything this man said has been spot on
great video thank sm it helped a lot
The engineer is an artist all there own
Awesome material thank you
thanks for being straight to the point!

This made me want to become an Audio Engineer
This is the first subscription I did on CZcams. Please, man, tell us more because a lot of people here on youtube just lie. But I believe in you so much. I would also like to have personal help from you please hit my inbox so that we can have special studies about the topic you have just started
Excellent sir....

Great work👍
Good shit bro 🤙🏼
I was a sound Technition back in the 80's for prominent bands. Took on other jobs and now want to learn knew equipment as I'm about to retire and do sound reproduction for local bands.
You the Boss,
Yeah I wanna be the person that gets sent the music sounds awesome to make the music sound better
hi iam new to the topic and i liked the video , it was very useful
Man I'm at that level now bro, I got and behringer rd8, and akai midi player, focusrite interface with headphones and mic, I don't think my laptop has enough storage though, but I still need my monitors, and base, plus my software
I like your mixing board looks nice imma get something like tht
13 seconds in the engineer aint more important when u do everything 🤣 automatic like
I said the same thing they exist because of artists and producers
He's saying they're crucial and can make or break a song. A bad engineering job will have an otherwise perfectly good song FUBAR.
I need to know more about this🤗

I'm inspired. Thanks.
Please do a follow explaining how you got I to the industry and how you find work. And how old you are.

bro spittin fax
Ok this sounds more like me. Ive tried producing but its too much you need plugins etc... Im that guy whos friends come to me to tune their car speakers to sound nice together, i also have zero experience but they seem to like the way i do the car audios. So i believe im an engineer not a producer.
...yes
I am a newbie of Audio engineering, and looking at your channel and there is a lot of stuff in it, can you pls tell me where to start in Audio Engineering or what are the basics to be learn?
one of the best Intros I've seen as an audio engineer myself man u should become a teacher 😎
good ass energy
Nice
I have played guitar for a long time and would love to record myself semi professionally I guess you could say. I have my guitars, a laptop , and very little cash flow. I am really want this for myself. Where do I start!
Hello I'm listening to Dr. DRE Gospel, Diamond Mind!! I'm 40 and i want to start doing something I love and that's music .I need a on how to learn these things and what equipment do I need starting off on a budget right now plan together on where should I start?? Don't want to be a artist. More beatsmaker learning music engineering I would love your advice Thank you.
1:11 💯💪🏼
First statement always been true
For someone fresh into learning audio engineering what should I go about doing and learning?
Any help on the behringer rd8 and akai midi player
My Midas m32 won’t accept the usb drive, can you help?! The access light isn’t showing up even though I have tried formatting it as fat32 and exfat
Greetings from Germany
Can I politely request captions/subtitles for those of us having a go at this despite having audio processing disorders?
Next video 🥰
yo what program do i need to start mixing my tracks
I wanna do this for my church
I agree with you. Without sound, even Star Wars is boring.
"The whole point of sound manipulating is to make it sound good"
My advice? Just consume as much audio engineering content as you can. Books, podcasts, stems from your favorite songs, etc. Just play. At the end of the day that's all making music is. Playing. You just have a wider paintbrush in your arsenal the more you study this kind of stuff.
Was hoping for some technical information.
So gud👉💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
I want create my own music.. I learn how do everything.
👌
No one gives fundamental tips on VOCALS...I hope u gonna do that..🎉Shot Out from INDIA🎉.
I MEAN BASIC VOCAL TUTORIAL...only VOCALS no musical instruments.
Whats the difference between audio engeering and producing?
Do i need to know piano keys in order to be a audio engineer???
Hi there.. I just wanna ask you, what would be top 3 apps for sound engineering
Ummm. Apps? I’m not sure how to answer that question. I don’t use apps. Maybe one for sound decibel reading. Another one by KRK. You can place the phone on the speaker and rotate it 45 degrees to make sure your triangle is perfect. Those are the only apps I can think of using. Hope that helps.
@@EricsonPresents that helps too
thank you so much
The thumb down is because I didn't hear/see anything that would bring me to watch a second video. I was somewhat disappointed finishing the first. I'm a beginner for engineering, so I was hoping you'd give beginner tips as far as programs or equipment to invest in, just as a teaser into subscribing and watching more vids, to then learn more about engineering. I'm not however a beginner in music. Seems like this was for beginners in music, but only touching on the engineering. I've been to studios, created music and know the difference between a producer, engineer, etc... so women on dating sites might be impressed but I felt like I just wasted ten minutes of my life. Hopefully when I give it a second chance I learn something.. whether or not. mad respect bro, to anyone who truly loves the artistry.
Definitely not more important than the artist It doesn't go anywhere without the artist. As an artist even if you have a boombox to record on you're good you don't need any fancy equipment to make wonderful music That's kind of ignorant what you said.
I was an artist first. Still am. I’m speaking from both sides haha
im sorry but i just don't agree. while the artist is extremely important, many many people never get anywhere, never even released songs that could've made it to top hits of the year simply because they can't get it to sound right. doesn't matter how many times you play your parts over and over again, if you can't get the final mix/audio to sound right, it's not going to sound good.
The audio engineer is the most important person for the digital aspect, but the producer and the artist literally made the song, the engineer captures the sound and manipulates it but they don’t create it
Compression, EQ's and Limiters definitely seem to be the most commonly used plugins that I feel like I need to use sometimes(not just want to).
I also sometimes enjoy using a tube amp emulator. Also the order and routing of any plugins, fx or processing gear is often consequential. I rarely put a reverb before a compressor for example, unless I am trying to make some kind of odd sound that compresses reverb.
❤
Hey, thank you for this video!
I'm just curious, do you master and edit for other people if they sent it to you?
