Joey’s right about Pokémon. It can be hit or miss but its world and Pokemon just make it so that you want to revisit it over and over again.

You know, I feel like Garnt would enjoy Xenoblade Chronicles, more specifically XC2.
It has a ton of sci-fi elements, it has a great story with banger music, it has a gacha system, and of course, a ton of waifus. It's one of those games that I only ever see getting shit on, but I feel like most people just never gave it a shot. I get it, I never did either when it was new, but since then I have actually given it a fair chance and I think it's one of my favorite games of all time now.
I want to actually to suggest it via TTS but I don't know how to use it and what type of stream I should insert that question.
honestly, my only complaint about xc2 is just that theres so much goddamn fan service. and the plot isnt as great as xenoblade 1's but its still pretty good. the combat is probably my favorite combat system out of any game ive ever played though. and about the gacha, its cool, but then you get to end game and you can just farm core crystals really easily. i got kos mos pretty quick and it only took about an hour
I thought xc2 was okay, not as bad as some people make it out to be, but not nearly as good as xc1

Say whatever you will abt xbox, it is probably the most consumer friendly amongst all of them. When other companies are charging $70 and above for their titles, Xbox is like: Yeah play the game on release day along with 400 other ones at $5 a month.

As an eastern european kid in late 90's and ealy 2000's my only console was bootleg NES/Famicom aka Famiclone.
It was a bit modiffied N64 controller. It was a console and a controller at the same time. I don't remember all buttons but i think - It had Arrow pad, A B buttons, C buttons, Start/Reset button, but no joystick, but small red light next to Start/Reset Button. Although maybe there were no C buttons but two extra A B buttons. Didn't had L R buttons or some triggers or extra buttons on the side, back or under. On the back had 3 slots for cables - 2 tv and 1 power, on/off switch, and a slot for extra remote or light gun. Under it it had a slot for that battery pack (never used it, only used it pluged to the power), and a slot for game cartridges. I think side handlers were a bit longer and middle one was a bit shorter than N64 one. And it had 20 or 50 or 100 games on itself, although a lot of them probably were just repeats.
My favorite game that we bought in the market was *Mario* *10* aka *Kung* *Fu* *Mario*. It was a rom hack. In reality it was "Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu", except Jackie was replaced with gigantic Mario in white clothes. Everything else were almost the same, except there were few character changes in first cutscene and one and two enemies had different skin.
My mom liked different version of Tetris and one other game.
But later i was just a PC gamer and still am.
Nintendo fans need to play more Metroid games...
Also xenoblade, pikmin and bayo need a lot more love.

i literally only own that one limited edition mario bundle everyone flipped out over,and I've barely touched it over the years.
i have hades,doom(almost all), borderlands collection etc etc.
otherwise I'd honestly never consider owning it, i don't think that Nintendo ips suck btw,they just aren't my thing ya know.

But your 100 percent right though. Nintendo definitely wasn't the greatest during the 2010s (even though I love the ds and the metroid prime games). Nintendo really just got good recently with there open world plateform games and as you said including other parties to develop games for them.

Pokemon scarlet is the only mainline game I could not bring myself to finish, the world just feels too empty.
I think the Nintendo loyalty is in large part due to how many iconic IPs they have and continue to produce exclusives for their hardware.
Growing up the Nintendo games I'd see were Mario, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Metroid (sometimes). And as an adult, I see those same franchises. And they're all nintendo exclusives
Playstation seems to only make a few games for each of their own IPs and then move on from them forever.
Growing up it was Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Ape Escape. Then it became Ratchet and Clank and Jack and Daxter, then it was Uncharted and God of War and so on.
Xbox had Halo and............Halo.
The IPs constantly changed and thus they'd grab different audiences. Nintendo has had a core group from the beginning and continue to rely on that core to push most of their products.

Growing up I cycled through consoles i had or was near from Nintendo, to Xbox to Playstation, and now im on PC, but Ive eye ballin a Game Cube, craving to play Rogue squadron or some Zoids.

THe PSP guys I know went to 3ds because of monster hunter and since phones then were the movie and music devices during the wiiU era at least sony fumbled on the Vita so Nintendo 3DS had almost no competition aside from psp homebrews and translations of japanese games.

I'm not really a Nintendo fan, it took me a loooooong time to find a Zelda game I could enjoy (Wind Waker HD), & outside of Yoshi's Island & Super Mario World pretty much every Mario game ends up boring me & becoming highly repetitive. I've had some fun with F-Zero & Star Fox. But honestly most of their IPs I couldn't care less about.
Pokémon however, I have had that shit running through my veins for most of my life.
The funny thing is I can sit there listening to people shit all over these games & I'll agree with pretty much all of their points.
But then I'll play the game & still really enjoy myself. Could be worse, I could be playing Genshin :P

In my country, Argentina, it was way easier to get a Family, a fake famicom and then a Sega Genesis as a kid. Play Station 1 and 2 reign supreme here. Piracy was probably a big factor in that. And then we entered the Ps3 and Ps4 eras, which were terrible for Nintendo, until the Switch came out. (Wii wasn't bad for Nintendo. It just wasn't the type of console I wanted at the time).
So I haven't had that much of an experience with Nintendo.
Still, I like Nintendo fine enough. It is just I am already accustomed to Sony's consoles.
As a biggest PlayStation fan of all time , I just play Japanese games like final fantasy and kingdom hearts and digimon. The stream deck is just too dam big.

I had a hacked 360 and my barber at the time had a guy that got the games so when I set my appointment for my haircut I would tell him hey I need a hair cut Friday I also want the new forza and halo 😂😂😂 it was a fun time
I grew up playing NES, and then I kinda lost interest and only played PS and PC games instead. Never was a fan of flagship series like Mario or Sonic. Battle City or Contra were much more fun to me on NES.

Grew up on the Sega Genesis. Moved on to the Saturn then Dreamcast. Gamecube afterwards was my first non Sega console
Sega games always felt more fast and arcadey. Something like Gunstar Heros or Afterburner would never be on the Snes. Strider?And they often took incredibly wild risks. Mr Bones, Nights into dreams, Shenmue, Space Channel 5. Ecco the Dolphin
People say Nintendo had better games but its because Sega's catalog was a weird grab bag of creativitly strange ideas. You could guarantee if you buy a Nintendo console you'll probably get a Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros. With Sega it was always a surprise.
I still like their Like A Dragon series. Idk how they shift from goofy comedy, to full on drama gangster issues and it works so well. If there’s one thing I’d change about Sega games is their save system. It’s so clunky and feels very early 2000’s with constantly having to go through multiple menus.

Yeah sorry but if I meet somebody and they say they are a gamer, I am gonna mention things like RPG's, shooters, etc.. If their response is to dismiss those and say that they are a social (parties, events, etc.) or casual gamer then I am not listening to their opinion on games at all, people like those are one of the reasons the gaming industry is going down the drain so much and so often.

I didn’t own a Nintendo console till the Wii and my first console was a PS1.
Definitely agree with you here. I just love gaming overall and have had most consoles. All three big names have had their successes and failures, so idk why being a Sony or XB fan is seen as being a shill. I hate the tribalism too, but I get some people are looking for camaraderie so they sometimes become fanboys or fangirls of one brand. One would hope people would outgrow that, but we know reality.
My main gripe with Nintendo

Because Sony sold all of its brand identity and became a hollow husk of its former self fuelled by corporate greed to a much greater degree than Nintendo has so far. Nintendo is still pretty much a very Japanese company, a very traditional company and making games in an almost artisanal ways comoared to other software houses. Also, Nintendo is basically the Disney of videogames.
The Sony from the PS1-PS2 era is absolutely not the same sony of the late PS3-PS4 era and the PS5 era Sony seems to be drifting towards a different direction once more. I think Sony failed to reinvent themselves after the PS3 launch disaster and its first "loss" in the console war.
About the Berserk thing, maybe that's why female stereotypes in terms of demographics meansa lmost nothing. Did you know Redo of a Healer is also popular in Japan with female viewers?

I think the thing with all the brands is that Nintendo is essentially the Apple of the gaming space at this point, Sony is the Android and Microsoft is the Microsoft. A lot of stuff Nintendo does is anti-consumer and pushes costs onto gamers. They have 0 interest in making the best hardware, just the best Nintendo hardware. But the flip side is, they make game *consoles* not just lobotimised PCs. The Switch is great because of how you can play it, but also that it has local multiplayer built straight into it. All Nintendo games are mechanics first, then the story graphics etc afterwards, so you have a fun time with their first party titles & that sticks with you, as opposed to a CG fest string of cutscenes around generic 3d action. There are so many Nintendo games that have changed the industry, even well after the heyday of the NES/SNES/N64; BOTW's influence on stuff like Elden Ring is huge. And I think that's why I'll always play N stuff, just because I know there's usually the ridiculous level of QC they bring to their first party stuff (Pokemon aside).
Man, as I have gotten older, I have started to gravitate toward mobile gaming. I am always traveling or working, and games like genshin/honkai star rail, arknights have been the only games I care about. As a lifetime pokemon fan, I just wished nintendo would branch out and bring games like that diamond and pearl remake to mobile. I think they would make a killing!

Honestly I dislike pc gaming. I have a switch, a ps5, and a $2500 pc and I almost never game on the pc. I just find pc gaming to be really inconvenient these days.

Let’s be Real, the only reason why I bought Series X first was because PS5 wasn’t available and now I’m waiting because knowing my luck they’ll announce The Pro.
Xbox does win when it comes to service tho. Gamepass is far better then PlayStation Plus (that could change overtime but we shall see…the PS Price Hike doesn’t help) we get Day 1 games at times which they won’t do, and tho the exclusives aren’t that high, it’s not a bad console.
I give Exclusives to Nintendo because 99% of games on Xbox and PlayStation will eventually make it to PC (yes that means you Ragnorak and Spider-Man 2) but some games like Mario, Pokémon,Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, etc from Nintendo will never be on anything else except Nintendo Consoles….unless you emulate but that’s another story altogether.

The themed pop up cafes and restaurants in California have been weak to decent. From Saved by the Bell to Golden Girls, the food just wasn’t good and the atmosphere just felt like a Crypto Bro investing in something with a checklist without understanding the actual franchise. Same with the themed escape rooms, like the Zelda one from Scrap. It was just lazy.

@@bloodlove93 the most disappointing one was the Stranger Things drive through “experience” back in 2020 ish. Instead of copying the amazing Japanese drive through experiences, they half assed it.
Also I want to add to Connor's point Yes there is an element of you know you're supporting the business practice, but that is not what the business is going to take away from it. They're going to take away that people don't like the features. Frankly the best thing you can do is if there are new features that you want to support in a game by the first version and then see if the second version fixes it. If they don't fix it by the second version then stop buying it because then they can't use the excuse that it was the feature set that caused the problem it was their crappy practices.
Like I know that seems backwards, but if there is a major change in how a game is played and that major change is actually a good change they just polished it horribly they will not take the polish as the reason why the game failed a good 80% of the time. Because people do not know how metrics work especially when it comes to business people.
