You sir are a blessing from above !!!! my truck was running when I got in to leave, I noticed that the lights on the dash were off, thinking the key might be stuck in the start position I shut it off and it wouldn't start up again, no lights no nothing....after watching the video I locked that connector back in place and bam!... you my friend saved me many hours of heartache and probably hundreds of dollars I just don't have... I cannot thank you enough!!!!!

Nice work!! This fixed my problem! The key is to make sure you have your key in the on position so you can hear a chime when you jiggle the wires. I had messed with the harness before with the key off. You need the key on. Thanks you saved me a tow bud I owe you a beer!

2014 Ram 1500 3.6L Base model truck nothing fancy. Same issue, no power to my dash, key became stuck, then unstuck. Battery was fully charged so i began to think it was the ignition switch. Thankfully I found your video before i started to throw parts at it! It must have came unplugged when i set my E Brake since i push it to the floor hahaha. thanks man!
We had a similar, intermittent problem with our 2017 Ram 2500, but we don't have that same white plug. My husband did discovered the the ground that connects to the body had some rust on the washer to body area. He scraped it off clean, and so far, no more problem.
Fell asleep on the drivers seat and accidentally disconnected it with my feet. I was stranded in Michigan yesterday. From 5am to 4pm with no heat. Saved me a couple of hundred.

You a fucking life saver. I put floor mat in the front and I guess it hit the plug. I pulled every fuse in the truck and checked grounds. I even took disconnected all accessories I added and nothing. Then I watch this video and boom that was the problem. Thanks again boss. 🤦♂️

My dodge starts as soon as I put it in drive it died no power nothing key stuck, finally got key out tried jumping checking everything nothing happens, took a break from it came back hr or so later it has power started up I checked the plug you stated in your video it was good so I’m confused why would it start die soon as put it in gear try everything to get it going nothing then just out of blue it starts and had power
Great video and diagnostic process. I wish you were in my city to do a similar trace on my Ram. My battery keeps going dead. My mechanic couldn’t find a drain said it’s likely a short cell in my battery. Put a new battery in, same problem 3 days later. I’ve been pulling the master fuse when not driving it but it went dead again. I did notice last week when shovelling snow that my puddle lights on the bottom of the mirrors were glowing (dim enough that I couldn’t see unless right up close) this is with the light switch in the off position. Any suggestions on where to look for that problem? Thanks
@@jacobgomez2682 when its running it’s just around 14.3 v. Depends on how long it’s been after I shut the truck off when I test (it’s still around 13v an hour or so). I usually discount the neg cable at the end of the day. When I reconnect it it arc’s. I put a clamp meter on it and it read 2.87 amps, but dropped pretty quick; after 15 minutes (I hadn’t unlocked the truck - just lifter the hood, to avoid waking it up.) it was jumping around from 0.00 to 0.09 and all variations between. I’m going to try again tho b/c I had hung the clamp on the neg cable while I pulled fuses, but after reading the instructions for the meter I see the wire is to run through the centre of the clamp on the meter. Waiting for nicer weather. 🥶

My father has a 2015 ram. It's crazy because to the smallest detail of the (p r n d). Lights only working, to the key being stuck. It's 2 in the morning,. First light I'm checking out the possibility of having the same issue with the connection. It's a very possible scenario. On occasion I drive the truck as well as my other brothers. I have what some people call "crazy feet.". And problem happened when I was driving the truck moving some furniture. We believe it's alternator but if it is a plug connection. wow. I will get back with you later on today and tune you in on what I see under the dash. -
I have the same problem but thought it was key fob/win module got a new one changed it didn’t do anything so I tried TCM that didn’t work now dealership saying it’s my rack and pinion I just want my truck back running someone anybody help please

I have same issue no power to dash or radio. I checked all fuses, replaced the bcm, pcm, and the engine fuse box you can call it the tipm, still no power to dash. My las resort is replacing the ignition switch and go from there. It all started when I was doing some body work to the truck and I left the ground cable unbolted from fender rail on right side near the firewall. Went to crank it and it would turn half a turn then stops tried it few times then brought my scanner I cleared the codes went to try it again this when I cranked little longer after that I tried it again it complete turned off as if someone unplugged the power source. The headlight switch works just not the dash. I need please.

Why in the hell people still calling these trucks a ( dodge ) ram. Its RAM. RAM is their own. Since fiat bought Chrysler/dodge, ram went there way. Daimler sold out to fiat. Ram is their own separate way. Still utilizing parts under the Chrysler trademark, but not dodge.
So you jeep owners that laughing at dodge ram, remember your driving a Chrysler dodge jeep..... owned by fiat. Ram and jeep isn't owned by the same company anymore.

Yes. After changing the ignition switch you have to reprogram. You don't have to go to the dealer. You can call a locksmith and they can come to you.
