I don't think that it's VAR's fault that English refs can't learn to use it to be honest. Other leagues are using it successfully.

Absolutely, there seems to be some sort of arrogance about the PGMOL that they are all seeing and they could not possibly use the tech as an additional TOOL to enhance their work when they make a mistake!
Frankly when it was mentioned on Sky sports that they have been adjusting what they consider to be a requirement for fouls, cards etc as they go through the season then it is no surprise that there is no damn consistency! Bunch of clowns who have never made the jump to being remotely professional!!

@@PaulForeman-indievisuals it's not just that, it's that the same inbred org is appointing all officials from the same pool, and there were several instances especially this season where VAR didn't make a call because they didn't want to throw their mates under the bus. Excuse me? In most other countries if there was as much as a hint of suspicion that there was any sort of favouritism, both the ref and VAR would get at least a 2-3 match suspension, in England they arrogantly say it on camera.

Exactly this! You scrap VAR and then we will all be yelling at the screen for the same blatantly stupid and corrupt decisions but this time we won't have a camera repetition to prove it. The problem with VAR isn't VAR itself, is the officiating using the tool for cheating (because at this point it's just imposible to deny these people are corrupt as hell).

I think as humans we can accept an error if we believe something was missed. The sense of injustice and anger (in my opinion) has intensified when we see that despite having technology, the officials are still awful.
VAR has been a quest for perfection in a game that isn’t based off matter of fact decisions, there’s many grey areas and subjective calls. My personal experience has been that VAR has only intensified anger and frustration

If VAR was in place that goal would've not count and the game would've ended 1-1. England might've qualified and even won the World Cup. That's how important these situations are. Yes, VAR should continue to be used but the people who make the decisions based on what they see on VAR need to be well chosen, perhaps not one official but 3 where 2 can decide or some other way to make sure the decision is correct!

Even with VAR they are getting it wrong, may as well be scrapped. VAR sucks all the emotion out of goals and that isn't why we watch football.

Var should be used for blatent fouls or obvious off sides that couldnt be officiated on the pitch.but should be concluded in secounds like rugby .not used for corruption and stupid lines .if its not obvious goal stands

The problem was the way VAR was implemented. You cannot have a spectator sport without telling the spectators what’s going on. Isolating the spectators on the terraces is scandalous. AI will bring new technology to a new level. Equally stadium based positional tech can be better employed than what exists now. The refs are inadequate in some areas but generally (on the pitch) they are fine. VAR works in champions League games so why is it so awful in the premier league?

Its not VAR its the PGMOL. It works ok in the bundersleagu. Its here now, its still going to be used in other leagues and european competitions. Are we going to be the only league in the whole world to ban it because the PGMOL are incapable. Its the ppl not the tech. VAR is here now, its going to be there outside of the premier league - we just need to be as efficient as they are in Germany.

RIP. The players will still have PTSD from celebrating goals too early for a couple of seasons but this is positive news. The old understanding was that every team would gain and lose on decisions throughout the season through human error but thats the game in its purest form.

IF PEOPLE STILL WANT VAR, GIVE MANAGERS 3 VAR REVIEWS
That review has to take place within 30 seconds of the said incident.
It then has to be reviewed by three independent judges not linked to the referee team in anyway, who must meet a 2-1 or 3-0 decision. A report explaining their decision must then be published within 30 minutes of the game finishing and one of the judges has to give a tv interview after every game explaining their decisions.
As for the referee's, they also have to make themselves more visible in regards to explaining their calls and they also can't be immune from criticism, but also not demonised providing they explain themselves. Of course if they are consistently and constantly bad, they need to be demoted or removed for a period of time.
It can be done if the manager has genuine concern if a foul went uncalled or the referee made the wrong decision.
They get one more if a game goes to extra time.
This way the manager is in charge of his own decisions and we get more transparency with the decision making across the board. Plus we also get more speed, excitement and drama back without always trying to turn the game into an exact science.

Var is useless but it’s not the var itself it’s the reprobates who interpret it. Plus it takes far too long to reach decisions. Celebrating goals is nearly non existent in the modern game. They are looking for smallest of things not to give goals.

Salah 31 going on 32 and a great player, one of Liverpool best. I wish we had him in his early 20's.
HOWEVER if you've played footie at any level in your 30 or 40's, against 18, to 25yr anf if you're honest with yourself then it only gets harder. Yes with age you can keep your fitness, pace yourself better, become a season thinking player rather being a speed merchant that you used to be and yes can go down leagues or levels of difficulty.
But you cannot beat nature and you become slower than everyone else around you on the pitch. Salah at this stage in his life.......
Famous quote, don't be that manager who allows your player legs go on your own pitch. Make sure is on some else's pitch instead.
This is what happen to our own midfeild last season.
