I don't think that it's VAR's fault that English refs can't learn to use it to be honest. Other leagues are using it successfully.
Ur wrong, LaLiga have had some shocking decisions aswell. Some teams whose names i wont mention.
Absolutely, there seems to be some sort of arrogance about the PGMOL that they are all seeing and they could not possibly use the tech as an additional TOOL to enhance their work when they make a mistake!
Frankly when it was mentioned on Sky sports that they have been adjusting what they consider to be a requirement for fouls, cards etc as they go through the season then it is no surprise that there is no damn consistency! Bunch of clowns who have never made the jump to being remotely professional!!
@@gerthajredini5957 I think u mistaken, La Liga don't have goal line technology, that is the problem.. They have very very less issue with VAR..
@@PaulForeman-indievisuals it's not just that, it's that the same inbred org is appointing all officials from the same pool, and there were several instances especially this season where VAR didn't make a call because they didn't want to throw their mates under the bus. Excuse me? In most other countries if there was as much as a hint of suspicion that there was any sort of favouritism, both the ref and VAR would get at least a 2-3 match suspension, in England they arrogantly say it on camera.
Same as the argument Guns don't kill people, people do. Remove the cause, remove the issue
Scraping var doesn't fix the shocking decisions by poor officials. The problem with Var is the same poor officials on the pitch run it off the pitch
Exactly, FA need to spend more money training these refs.
Exactly this! You scrap VAR and then we will all be yelling at the screen for the same blatantly stupid and corrupt decisions but this time we won't have a camera repetition to prove it. The problem with VAR isn't VAR itself, is the officiating using the tool for cheating (because at this point it's just imposible to deny these people are corrupt as hell).
I think as humans we can accept an error if we believe something was missed. The sense of injustice and anger (in my opinion) has intensified when we see that despite having technology, the officials are still awful.
VAR has been a quest for perfection in a game that isnât based off matter of fact decisions, thereâs many grey areas and subjective calls. My personal experience has been that VAR has only intensified anger and frustration

Having VAR doesn't stop officials making shocking decisions either.
Don't think var is the problem it's the pgmol running the whole thing
As mauricio poccetino said, it's not the car/var, it's the people that are using it
Scraping it makes it worse! Sky Sports will act as an unofficial VAR and drive fans nuts! Even though I am a Man U fan đ
The problem is not the technology, but the user
Scrapping VAR is not good for Liverpool because most of these referees have an agenda against Liverpool. So imagine without VAR any close call will be against us and the referees will take advantage of that.
So for me itâs a MASSIVE NO
It simply needs to be utilised better, with competent officials and technicians.
Shouldnât scrap var for poor officiating, will not solve anything and we should be looking to bring in automated offsides.
Yup! Once VAR is scraped, you'll hear the crying from fans after their club loses on an obvious missed call. "Sorry you lost the match due to error but there is nothing we can do"
â@jayjay0640 Coventry goal keeper scored a handball goal in the last minute denying blackburn rovers a space in the playoffs.
I am still calling for var to be scrapped!
You don't speak on our behalf we want this communistic type shite out of our beautiful game
@@NotHappening-wr9yj a bit of an overreaction. đ
@@jayjay0640 that's what it is tho, its root cause comes to add more control of the game and destroys thr game for the fans.
VAR is not the problem, corruption is.
All we need is automated offsides, goal line technology and on-pitch officials
Removing VAR doesn't solve the whole problem. Things like the Diaz goal, no pen Odegaard handball, and no pen Doku kungfu kick will still happen. Hope they just fix it and the system before next season
It solves the quest for perfection thatâs impossible to achieve
@@AnfieldAgenda That's true. But we see VAR work in Europe and even at the Afcon. English refs are a big problem. If they scrap it, I hope we get better officials from somewhere
PL refs are incompetent but they are even more incompetent with VAR..
â@@AnfieldAgenda VAR during the world cup was excellent. So efficient and black & white. THAT mitoma cross that was a hair from out of bounds against Spain proves that VAR without refs drawing imaginary lines just works better when it is 100% automated.
That wonât help at all. The problem are the referees.
If they scrap offside var, there's a few players who have high offside rates that will overnight become exceptionally even more gifted players
Keep the automated offside that's on the way, and the goal line technology. Scrap the rest
Yep, the automated off side/goal line stuff is essential.
Exactly this
4:06 congratulations to Pep Lijnders, I hope in future he manages Liverpool
He has been for the past 2 years.
I am bold and brave enough to say that Pep should have replaced Juergen
Scrapping it does not help. You work on getting it better, through training and continuous improvement. That is what smart businesses do. You will never get perfection, but you need to just continue to tweak and improve it.
Football at the highest level is a multi billion pound worldwide business. Businesses solve the problem, don't scrap things and shove their heads into the sand.
I can GUARANTEE that in the very first round of games in a new season without VAR, some horrendous refereeing decision will take place and social media will be flooded with comments complaining that if we had VAR it would have been caught.
I really like VAR, but you cant have it work well when the bloody refs themselves are bad.
VAR should be scrapped in it's present form. The goal line technology should be kept and also introduce the automatic offside technology, and get rid of the rest.
It never was VAR at fault - it was always the officials. Goal line technology and automatic off-side rulings seem to be mostly working. It's a shame that all of their decisions can't be automated and take all the officials bias, preferences and incompetence out of the game.
Just keep goal line tec and thats all we need
I was so against VAR at the beginning but now i want it to stay but they need to continue to evolve.
That'd be ridiculous. It's clear it's not VAR to be blamed rather officials. Imagine this; when Maradona scored a handgoal against England! If VAR was in place that goal would've not count and the game would've ended 1-1. England might've qualified and even won the World Cup. That's how important these situations are. Yes, VAR should continue to be used but the people who make the decisions based on what they see on VAR need to be well chosen, perhaps not one official but 3 where 2 can decide or some other way to make sure the decision is correct!
Strange that they won't consider the automated system, you know the one that can't be biased or bribed...
The problems are not with VAR it's with the officials behind the scenes, remove the officials, and replace them with trained 3rd party officials, and I am looking forward to the automated offside rules get rid of refs outta var and people that aren't aligned with any team
I would go as far as bringing officials from Europe to work in it
It's the poor/corrupt officials.
Just want to maintain that invisible hand.
They should introduce automated offside technology
The problem is not with the technology. Its with the people who are using it.
Man city are not going to vote
Yup!
đ€š"cheatinđ€Źts
VAR is still a good concept, but I've lost faith in the authorities' ability or willingness to implement it properly. I'd prefer Ollie Watkins to Bowen, but I think Bowen would do well if he came.
I say keep it, and use it show how bad some of the officials are. Hopefully that will force independent VAR officials that WON'T be there to back-up their mates.
So over the notion that var is the problem. It I wonât stop coote from being incompetent
What they are thinking? If we are complaing at referees why we want to remove the system to correct them. VAR is not the problem- referees are
Itâs the refs, not the system. Fix the damn refs
Edit: after reading your comments I understand your point, I just donât think itâs VAR thats broken, I think the reffing is as dodgy and inconsistent as hell
If your radio is playing a bad tune, you change the station, you donât throw out the radio. Same with VAR, change the officials.
For me, VAR was brought in to help with the inconsistency of referees....who did they give control of it....the very same referees.
The referees are shocking regardless. Although, they should get rid of VAR but keep the automated offside.
I love always say one more thing or one more last minute thing. It like when youâre friendâs house but donât really want to leave at the moment. We love you Craig and the WFM family â€â€â€
Craig! Please tell me this! What change will this maketo Ctty's dominance seeing they got away without penalties out of court Then allowed to contiue untouched whereas other clubs got severely punished severely
The cope is insane
Me myself i dont see this vote being passed..I dont see enough teams being in favour of it...VAR needs people in charge who know how to use it and to get consistency on decisions..
Hi Craig đ
We could accept human error . Refuse to accept pgmol taking us for a idiots though . Officiating must be better next season. Congrats to coach pep well deserved!
It's not worked out so just use semi automated offsides and goal line technology.
I wonder what VAR would look like if it were independent of the PGMOL...and was a team of former refs, former players and rules experts?
As soon as Mike Dean made his "matey" comment, I knew you had to have VARs completely independent of the PGMOL including no former refs.
This is like saying you want to get rid of calculators because mistakes would be more understandable. The decisions arent tough ones. The tough ones we accept.
Scrapping the VAR would absolutely destroy the league so the main problem is the individual by scrapping VAR now they will have More power They can literally do what they can
Each Manager should get to have 1 Flag they can throw on the pitch to challenge a No Call or Poor Call each and every game.
I dont feel it the VAR it's the prats trying to use it
I'm sure too much has been invested in VAR for it to be scrapped but I remain hopeful
Cmon PepâŠ. All the very best for the future mate and thank you đșđđ„đ„đ«”đ»
Will be fantastic
We fly out to Tenerife on June 6th lol, so I'll hopefully be celebrating when we get there đ đđđ€
Enjoy your trip
@@AnfieldAgenda Cheers Craig, I'll have one for ya if it gets abolished lol đ
Oh please đđ»
Jarrod Bowen is definitely my favorite West Ham player. He'd be a good fit due to his physicality and work rate.
Hallelujah đđđ
Let's gooooo
- or simply reduce waiting time to 10 seconds to avoid any GLARING mistakes. If it takes any longer then it's not a big reffing mistake, right ?
This season has seen a host of ridiculous decisions and thatâs when VAR has been used.
Should keep the pitch side screen for on field ref to check himself without using lines, then if he canât be 100% sure of offside then give the goal
Might as well keep VAR
Hi my grandson is a big fan
Do u think eagle eye on the goal line is still needed as well
Plus Iâm for the removal of VAR and I think it will help with having to stop/start the game so much and the next thing you know you have +8 minutes at the end of the each halfâŠ. More injuries with VAR
Absolutely ridiculous!!!
It isn't VAR that is at fault, but poor officials! It works properly in boyh cticket and rugby. This just proves that football is lightyears behind other sports as far as ofgiciating is concerned. And it starts with offside and handball rules that are so comprimised that it simply can't be officiated consistently.
We opted for the wish version of VAR in the first place đ€·ââïž
VAR has made the bias towards city more clear, I think we should keep it
easiest fix for VAR - start clean and literally use prior decisions to create the standard. you give handball in game 1 due to an event, why not use that as basis for decision making for game 2. consistency is key and the reason why everyone gets angry because something gets given one week then not the next. Also, scrap these stupid close offside lines, go to the feet of people if its so close it takes 5 minutes to draw a line then clearly its not clear and obvious?
VAR is not the problem, unfortunately, and for crying out loud, it's time for Salah to move on
Might be in the minority, but this won't solve anything. Sure we will have quicker resolution of decisions. But the amount of mistakes that will happen. The only way this works is if we keep the automated offside tech alongside gettin rid of var
Away with VAR, it has completely removed the joy and spontaneity of the game, should only be used to judge whether a ball is in- or outside the lines, plus it has made the matches ridiculously long, constantly 15 minutes of extra time with both halves included - maybe that's why there are so many injuries in the teams now..
We will need VAR because of our high line defence. I agree they go against us a lot, but VAR sometimes help us catch opponents in offside trapa
The question why now??? After making teams lose.
the problem isn't the system its the people using it, the system is working fine the human aspect is not! refereeing standard is at an all time low without var you will see some equally shocking decisions next season
They will not vote to remove VAR. These clubs are dam Cowards. When Liverpool approached them earlier about calibrating on the VAR issue, they all turned their backs. Cowards!! But now the shoe is on some of their feet, action is now seen as eminent.
Mek dem Gweh !!!
Hmmm, VAR to be scrapped after it seriously hurt our seasonâŠ.. bollocks !
One thing I took from Klopps interview with fan content providers today is that he hates these watchalong reaction gimps more than Tierney and Taylor.
If FIFA hasn't rule it out then why should the EPL remove it. If the cricket guys are able to perfect it why can't football do it.
VAR in Europe works well a few bumps here and there. VAR in the premier league open match fixing.
Well... It should be a whole lot easier to get stuff wrong with 4 officials/no tech than 6 officials with tech. And better 'plausible' excuses...
I've been against VAR from day one because i felt it would be abused and used to manipulate results, with so many decisions going against Liverpool and other team's there were far to many errors to be human errors
Definitely get rid thank god hope it do go
I'd break the bank to sign Bowen
I don't think this will happen because they have put to much money into it
Oh god please please please please make it happen.
Even with VAR they are getting it wrong, may as well be scrapped. VAR sucks all the emotion out of goals and that isn't why we watch football.
Var should be used for blatent fouls or obvious off sides that couldnt be officiated on the pitch.but should be concluded in secounds like rugby .not used for corruption and stupid lines .if its not obvious goal stands
The problem was the way VAR was implemented. You cannot have a spectator sport without telling the spectators whatâs going on. Isolating the spectators on the terraces is scandalous. AI will bring new technology to a new level. Equally stadium based positional tech can be better employed than what exists now. The refs are inadequate in some areas but generally (on the pitch) they are fine. VAR works in champions League games so why is it so awful in the premier league?
đźAre the also insisting on manditory eyesight testing for all match officials???
Its not VAR its the PGMOL. It works ok in the bundersleagu. Its here now, its still going to be used in other leagues and european competitions. Are we going to be the only league in the whole world to ban it because the PGMOL are incapable. Its the ppl not the tech. VAR is here now, its going to be there outside of the premier league - we just need to be as efficient as they are in Germany.
RIP. The players will still have PTSD from celebrating goals too early for a couple of seasons but this is positive news. The old understanding was that every team would gain and lose on decisions throughout the season through human error but thats the game in its purest form.
IF PEOPLE STILL WANT VAR, GIVE MANAGERS 3 VAR REVIEWS
That review has to take place within 30 seconds of the said incident.
It then has to be reviewed by three independent judges not linked to the referee team in anyway, who must meet a 2-1 or 3-0 decision. A report explaining their decision must then be published within 30 minutes of the game finishing and one of the judges has to give a tv interview after every game explaining their decisions.
As for the referee's, they also have to make themselves more visible in regards to explaining their calls and they also can't be immune from criticism, but also not demonised providing they explain themselves. Of course if they are consistently and constantly bad, they need to be demoted or removed for a period of time.
It can be done if the manager has genuine concern if a foul went uncalled or the referee made the wrong decision.
They get one more if a game goes to extra time.
This way the manager is in charge of his own decisions and we get more transparency with the decision making across the board. Plus we also get more speed, excitement and drama back without always trying to turn the game into an exact science.
I do not think they scrap var fifa and uefa want var in big leagues in Europe.
VAR should be reduced to just offsides and goal line technology
I hope they do get rid of it grrrrrrr 0:27
it is a yes football will be great again and we wont have to wait to celebrate a goal if it Happens
Var is useless but itâs not the var itself itâs the reprobates who interpret it. Plus it takes far too long to reach decisions. Celebrating goals is nearly non existent in the modern game. They are looking for smallest of things not to give goals.
Salah 31 going on 32 and a great player, one of Liverpool best. I wish we had him in his early 20's.
HOWEVER if you've played footie at any level in your 30 or 40's, against 18, to 25yr anf if you're honest with yourself then it only gets harder. Yes with age you can keep your fitness, pace yourself better, become a season thinking player rather being a speed merchant that you used to be and yes can go down leagues or levels of difficulty.
But you cannot beat nature and you become slower than everyone else around you on the pitch. Salah at this stage in his life.......
Famous quote, don't be that manager who allows your player legs go on your own pitch. Make sure is on some else's pitch instead.
This is what happen to our own midfeild last season.
Canât keep up with these football rules should of just left them alone to start with
Imagine if there was no VAR that would mean weâd definitely have won the league
I honestly think instead of scrapping VAR the premier league start sending out scouts to find the best referees. If not then yep, scrap VAR.
Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaasssssssseeeeeeeee say this happens. I want to celebrate goals properly again
