    I did use tennisballs....I cut them open with a sharp knife and filled them up with maïs corn to ingrease the waight. Than I took a balloon to cover the slith in the ball to keep the corn in place.
    I put the balls inside long socks and for another pair I made nice crochet covers.
    P.s. love love love your vids and tutorials!! Thnx for sharing!
    With kind regards Cynthia - with love from the Netherlands ♡

    I'm just getting started with Poi and this video was very helpful as I was looking for a way to inexpensively experiment and make my own poi balls. You covered so many different options! Thank you for all the great videos you have produced and the thought and effort that you put into them.

    I've used tennis balls for many things in healthcare. Just 2 slits to slide the handle of silverware into can give someone their independence back.
    Got sidetracked sorry. If you cut a slit in a tennis ball and squeeze the ball at the right direction (think opening a baked potato) you can insert a funnel into the hole, fill it with rice and the hole seals itself when you remove the funnel.

    • @DrexFactor
      @DrexFactor  Před 4 lety +3

      Yeah...I still think it's easier to use a zip-lock back for things like that and I think it's more likely people will have them laying around (I can't remember the last time I saw someone casually playing tennis) but your mileage will vary. Tennis balls can absolutely work if you use them in this fashion.

    My favourite inside poi is my homemade sock poi. I found these nylons that were half sock, half nylon. Like in one inch stripes all the way down so they don’t actually stretch. And they’re rainbow. And I cut the heel off so they don’t actually look like socks anymore
    And I’ve got water balloons full of rice in both ends so I can practice tosses and gunslingers.
    I absolutely love them

    Nice options, I sometimes have used lanyards with whatever on the end (keys, carabiners, etc), they're a bit short and most things you can put on the ends easily are hard, but they work if it's what you got.

      Yeah I was really wrestling with finding a 3rd design and trying to come up with a material that literally everyone has access to. String/rope is not always as common as you'd think. Someone on my FB group posted a photo of a set of poi they'd made out of grocery bags and that was kind of an a ha moment. I went and looked up tutorials for making ropes out of grocery bags and none of them referenced how long the process actually took. In retrospect I think I'd have been better off investing that time into finding a different design entirely :-P

      @James Bolivar Digriz Free content? Do you even know how youtube began? This whole website was freemium from day one kid. Just because you took acid once doesnt mean you know the difference between what is subjective and objective. Every woke joke I find on the comments section subjectively taking the reigns of intent.

    • @DrexFactor
      @DrexFactor  Před 4 lety +6

      Because they do indeed support me. A couple years ago I was in a bind because a major supporter had pulled out right before the month was about to roll over and I suddenly didn't know how I was going to make rent. I went around to several companies and asked if they'd sign up for Friends of the Channel--none of them got anything out of it other than getting their logo in my video and a quick shout out. No endorsement, no editorial control, just showing their logo so I could make rent that month. I'm grateful to all the companies that signed up to help me and all that have signed up since then. They truly do help make this work possible!

    • @alwayssunnyincalifornia9272
      @alwayssunnyincalifornia9272 Před 4 lety

      So they give you the excuse to be lazy and make 2 videos a week to make rent? Damn bro. Sounds like you have it made to where you dont even need to gain more subscribers. Just skating by how you are is basically no better than the trust fund kids with their parents amex. I fear you haven't even busked a day in your life for a meal.

    • @DrexFactor
      @DrexFactor  Před 4 lety +8

      Wow...please write, shoot, edit, and publish 2 videos a week at the quality I do and come back and tell me I'm lazy. It's not rare that I put in 12 hour days doing this so that people all over the world can have the resources they need to be able to get into spinning and flow arts. I work to challenge myself constantly to produce better content and I think the community of people I've been able to cultivate around that really reinforces how powerful and important a force that's been in many peoples' lives. I did this all on my own with my own blood, sweat, and tears--learning what I could do both to serve people wanting to start their journey as well as how to connect friends making really wonderful props to people who could benefit from them. I'm kind of astounded by the level of projection and entitlement you're showing here, but I guess it's a good reminder to me that if you don't have haters then you're a bench player. Get a life, pal. I've got work to do.
