Steep Point, exploring Shark Bay, Edel National Park (Coral Coast Part 4)

- This week we are exploring Edel National Park, which is home to Steep Point the most westerly point in mainland Australia, but to get there we first must drive through the corrugations and then a nice big sand dune. We camp at Faultline campground which turns out to be a challenge, but before all of this we find ourselves camped alone at False Entrance with a secluded swimming hole which turns out to be one of our favourite campsites so far this season.

Damn this was a mixed bag. Lovely and beautiful place, but horrendous flies and wind. Good onya for powering through it. Empty campsites are pretty common in WA because the booking system was designed by a toddler😅 Cheers.

Get a plastic bottle, cut top off and turn upside down. Then fill bottle 1/4 with warm enough water with Vegemite. Fly trap

Omg, we were at False Entrance last week. We booked site 5 and couldnt find it. We took a camper trailer in there and damaged the hitch and rolled a bead on a tyre trying to find it. 😅 left the trailer at site 4 and drove to find site 5. Found it, what a spot!.Not keen on tackling that hill climb out with the trailer so we found our way onto the beach back around to site 1. Stayed at 1 for that night. Great spot and will try it again one day. Great vid guys, safe travels!
Omg, can’t believe we weren’t the only ones that couldn’t find camp. It’s definitely a amazing place, guess the good ones are always harder to get too. Our backup plan was to exit on the beach to camp 1 too if we couldn’t get up the hill. Hopefully your hitch wasn’t too bad damaged and you could enjoy the rest of your time out there. Great video guys, those flys 🪰 too much. We actually just met some people from Steep Point who own a huge farm there, been in family for 4 generations! They’re staying with us on King Island but have invited us to park our van on their property right near where you were. Looks amazing 🤩
