    Hey guys!
Ballet teacher here! DO NOT DO POINTE WITHOUT TRAINING. Michelle, thank you for putting in that disclaimer. It's super important. Did you see how she hand to ice her ankles after just that short time? You REALLY CAN BREAK your FEET if your muscles are not trained to support yourself. Please please please. This includes people doing cosplay. DONT GO EN POINTE just for pictures. I've watched too many injuries from people. It's not about 'being careful' is about your body being strong enough.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Once you start to compare yourself to them you will get so far in your head that it can cause you delay your progress or quit altogether. I had to do that in the business I was in for over 40 years. I am a tile setter, doing custom work in home fo90r people and it is very rewarding when I do things fresh and new. I had to stop looking at what others have shown in magazines or elsewhere. I just did the work and let it speak for itself. I know they are 2 complete different art forms but you have to not compare nor judge yourself to someone else's standard. I hope this will help you along the way.

I am actually a dancer, I started when I was 15, now I am dancing for 7 months. To be honest, I have watched this video twice - the first time was 7 months ago. This video inspired me to start doing ballet, it was not easy at first and it just gets harder and harder. But you know what? I did not give up! After 4 months (i did not dance during summer break) I went on pointe, I progressed so much. I started to dance in theaters in my dance school's dance team. I started from small roles, our teacher - who was organising it, the owner of the school, always gave me something to dance. I am just so happy that I started ballet, this was honestly a really good decision. Tysm!

The Biggest thing in ballet is probably the pointe its kinda scary and painful but for skating its the general fear and all the technical Physics like spins speed. Im a figure skater, i dont mean that my sport is harder but it is the fear and also i did ballet and i couldnt handle it🤣(im adhd and very energetic and very impatient. As a kid especially.) But yeah master anything is hard. If she Do a episode on music( learning a instruments) i definetely thing IT Will be one if the hardest. But the Biggest things in both sports and any(but not all) is muscles memory, your body wont Do what you want if you dont repeat even if you know perfectly How.

I don’t like how people think ballet is easy because it’s not and honestly like it’s so hard. My dance studio is close to a shopping mall so a bunch of people walk by every day mocking us and I get super annoyed. Like I’ve already been there for three hours and it’s 9:00 at night and people think it’s so hard. Do people treat people who train for soccer 4 hours a day like that? Do they mock them by pretending to kick a ball. I get mocked by people who put their arms up and say wow that’s so easy, haha. It’s not, u can’t just put ur arms up. U have to have an angle ur arms are at. Ur elbow have to be in front of ur face but not too far in front. Ur hands have to be elegant and not like ur holding a hamburger. Suck in ur belly, put ur shoulders down, don’t hunch ur back, straitened ur knees, turn out ur legs and ur feet, and so much more. And that’s just one position, there’s so many more, like hundreds! And I have to memorize the French names too. ITS NOT EASY!!! I’m not saying u think it’s easy btw. Just venting my anger lol.

This comment truly made me emotional. This is so beautiful and it's wonderful how people of all ages can start doing this amazing thing called ballet. I took a few ballet classes when I was at the age of 7, I think. I idolised ballet because of Barbie, but through the years I started to recognise the true beauty of it. I wish I didn't quit ballet back then. I know it's still not too late, but I'm just so stiff. I want to start ballet again, but in order to do that I have to work REALLY hard on my flexibility. I hope that everyone who wants to start something new later in life or with a hard journey keep doing what they want. Art comes in many forms and we get to decide what kind of art we want to enjoy, even if we are older then usual or we don't fit in with the usual expectations and requirements.

I love that she really shows how hard ballet is. Everything always needs to be perfect and it is soooo stressful to be a ballerina, yet some people say that it’s not a sport. Try standing on the tip of your toes while jumping and dancing, then we can talk. I also appreciate how respectful she is to the ballet community.

Most audiences never get the opportunity to see the grit behind the elegance. I also just want to applaud you for your bravery and for tackling the fears and insecurities! Trust me when I say, even top-tier professional ballerinas experience these SAME insecurities. Even after years of dedicated training and years of performance experience... it can be scary and difficult facing the fear of potential embarrassment or the idea of not being "perfect" when out on stage. It's a very vulnerable and humbling art form and YOU did it! Kudos! As a professional dancer, I'm inspired

I was bigger than all of the other girls there, and I just didn't '' fit in ''. And now, believe it or not, I do one of the most dangerous sports out there. Horse Riding. I started Horse Riding when I was little at the age of 6, and I quit a year or two later. A few years pass, and I am back at it.
