Xavi was a legendary player, but as a manager he has been mixed. I think he is a good coach, but a team like Barca needs a world class coach
There's not a ton he can do when most of his best players are central, his right winger is bad at dribbling and Lewandowski has horrendous hold-up play.
Imagine if Messi was playing over Lewandowski instead right now? How much more dynamic would Barca's attack be?

Antwerp lost 5 games cause they lack experience. They went 2-0 up against Shakhtar, but couldn't defend the lead. In the second game against Shakhtar, they got a red card and narrowly lost 1-0. Both of those game could have been wins for Antwerp and they could have had 9 points in this group.

Lewandowski is washed up, Raphinha can’t dribble and is a terrible finisher, ferran is inconsistent, Felix doesn’t have consistent output, Pedri is injury prone and lacks any physicality or speed, Kounde is extremely shaky at the back and error prone, Romeu straight up is not good at all, Balde is inconsistent, Cancelo is prob the most talented player on the team but leaves gaps in the defense, Christensen lacks physicality, and Yamal is too raw and young to impact the biggest games. The best Barca players are:
- Frenkie De Jong
- Gundogan
- Araujo
- Cancelo
Gundogan has been absolute trash mate. Doesn't control games and only 2 goals this season. 1 of which was a total fluke where the ball luckily fell right to him for a tap in after it bounced off 3 defenders. The other goal was a meaningless garbage time strike against Girona when the game was already lost.
Cancelo has been a ginormous liability at the back and a big reason why Barca is shipping goals galore this season when they had a record defense just last year. But this is the problem ... You think Cancelo is good because he scored a few goals and had maybe 5 good games in attack. Ignoring the other 70% of the games where he was dreadful and main reason his team shipped goals galore at the back. Cancelo is a wing back yet by playing him it's like playing with 1 less defender down. He's not just 'not good" defensively. He's absolutely horrid! There's a reason City and Bayern couldn't get rid of him fast enough. Same with Juve. Not good enough in attack to be a legit winger. Not good enough in defense to be a defender. Cancelo is a fraud.
Lewy is "washed up" but leads this team in goals + assists. Won the pichichi last year and had 38 goal involvements despite playing for this rubbish side. Won the Fifa player of the year in 20202 and 2021.
Raphina was scoring and beating defender all the time when he played for Leeds and even Brazil. Pedri looked like a generational talent a year and a half ago....All these players have regressed massively under Xavi. At the same time. These were world class players before they arrived. In case of Gundo and Lewy they were truly among the best performers in the sport for the entire decade before arriving. Look at the squads Girona and Antwerp have. Rejects like Garcia, "finished" senior citizens like Daley Blind and a bunch of obscure names nobody has ever heard of. Yet they both played Barca off the park and punch way above their weight. That's what good coaching does. It squeezes out the maximum out of players. It creates competent systems that work. Xavi does the opposite. Nearly all players stall or massively regress. There is no urgency, belief, confidence, patterns of play, no ability to adjust to situations, no ability to read the game, nothing.
He's the main reason this club is such a circus at the moment. Guaranteed if those players went to other teams they would start performing again. Xavi has destroyed this team and is over his head. He'll be gone soon you can bank on that.

No one talks about the FACT that Antwerp, a small budget team vs Barca , played very well. They have grown and learned so much, they could have won 2 more games, that was bad luck.

Hear me out. In respects to these massive teams which in the past were able to consistently beat out other non super star teams, the football doesn't have the amount of lethal players it used to. Even the most lethal players aren't that many levels above the rest. It's not that easy today even with all the financial resources at your disposal to create an unbeatable team as it once was. Even if your Mancester City or Real Madrid you have to take every game with the utmost seriousness. This Era of football is about masterfully putting together a team. Because relying on a couple players to put in so immense a performance that they win it for you is not a good strategy with this generation. There are some young players that on there best days can do it for you but on their average days they're just average. Nobody is safe in today's football and it's getting more and more unpredictable. There is a star power drought, and its going to impact the status of the biggest clubs the most.
Spot on! Expactations are too high nowadays and players are not as great. Jesus just look at the talent level at about 2015 spread among, barca, real, bayern, city, chelsea and juve. Also atleti and psg had good teams back then. And people forget that the golden generation of players between 98-06 played in teams that alsodidn´t get as many league points as in 2015. Those top teams (98-06) lost to lesser teams every week but onebody complained as much as today

@@ganaed9954 They won the league because of luck. It's not exactly a big achievement for a club like Barcelona to win their league when there is really only 2 actual other contenders. RM and Atletico. Both of whom had shitty league seasons. So who else was going to win but Barca????? NOBODY that's who. These are the only 3 teams who have won a league title in Spain over the past 15-20 years or so. Even teams like Sevilla and Valencia were dreadful last year and battled relegation. It was the weakest season in La Liga I can remember. If this was during the golden period when La Liga teams were amazing like the 2000s or 2010s with prime Messi, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldihno, David Villa Forlan, etc it would have been a far more impressive achievement. The talent level in La Liga is nowhere near what it used to be.
And if you actually watched Barca last season you would know they were dreadful after November. Squeaking out lucky 1-0 wins left and right.
Zidane inherited a team that already won the UCL without him, full of generational players in their primes. An average manager could have won and would have won trophies with that Madrid side. Xavi walked into an actual difficult situation and his managerial skills are being tested to the max. He can't just rely on the best talents and athletes the sport has to offer like Zidane did. And he's being found out. Also the reason I never gave Zidane that much credit because he's never managed another side and RM were already UCL winners. So it's hard to gage how much impact he actually had on that side.
