Wave Race 64 is a gem!!! The music, the wave physics, the track designs ... It's great stuff and lives in my heart rent free.
Its great on nintendo online. I managed to get no 1 on all tracks with the save option.
Brilliant game, the water effects are still amazing to me all these years later.
Anything Schwarzenegger from the 80s is gold.

Heck yeah, Wave Race! I used to play that with my buddies back the N64 days, when we still meet up at friends houses to play games. Something about it and riding the waves and doing tricks was so addicting.

Yesterday I went to my local game store and I picked up Ocarina of Time 3D, ZombiU, and a sealed copy of What the Golf? I'm happy to finally add these to my collection.
If you flip the blanket upside down you get another blanket for the price of one.
That moment of awe when you realize you have to go through the whole blanket a second time for the real ending.

I recommend Another Code Recollection! Absolutely one of the best DS games out there, remade from the ground up for Switch. And it comes with the sequel remade as well, which we never received in North America prior. This was my main January pickup and it's been a treat to be in its world again.
I was kind of interested in that one, in part because I'm a huge Wii fan so any previously unavailable Wii game catches my attention. Good to hear a positive opinion on it, though I'm going to be cautious for a little bit longer before I make the final decision to pick it up.

I recently got a Ps Vita after My original Vita that i had for like ten years died on me, Was so relived that I was able to re download my old games that i had one it, as I've came to find out that some of my games are now unlisted on the online store such as the Tomba games, Was also good to see the PS vita store is still open, I now have more games on this "New" vita than i did on my original haha! Great video Guys! i have Fond memories of Castlevania: Symphony of the night!
Robocop was one of my favourite games of 2023. These guys brought us Terminator Resistance another great title. Robocop was the next step up in every way. You have to play it. Robocop had a very limited print run too.

The whole trailer park area in The Last Starfighter was filmed in Santa Clarita CA now most of the location is just a liquor store in the same place Alex was playing the Starfighter arcade game. Sadly they remodeled most of it and now you can't see much of it except for the store which now looks like a big barn the only thing recognizable from that scene is the same big propane tank out front.

I didn't pick up anything. As a matter of fact I sold my entire collection, from SNES to PS5. I moved to another country and although it was super sad to sell every game I played since I was 5yo, I'm happy that they gave me the economic boost I needed to move. I never knew that I was collecting games to one day start from scratch a new life in another country. I only kept my Zeldas ❤.

Just so you know, Andrew. Your little "Stranger in a Strange Land" reference was not lost on me. I have also never really "grok'd" the whole Shmup thing. Although I did have a fling with Guardian Legend on the NES. Fond memories of that little mashup of a game.
Yeah, for me, the love affair began and ended with the original R-Type - although I will admit to a little Truxton on the side back in the day!
I'm a woman and I dig Conan the Barbarian... it's also one of the only movie soundtracks I ever bought. Basil Poledouris is the man! ;-)

My latest pickup: Xenoblade Chronicles definitive edition for switch, CIB for 10 bucks at a local pawn shop this weekend! Price charting has it at $35.

If you like the Robocop game you should absolutely try the developers Terminator game. Terminator Resistance Enchanced for PS5. It's a pretty simple FPS that doesn't bring anything innovative to the table but it absolutely nails the vibe of the first (only?) two Terminator movies. Excellent use of the soundtrack pushes it over the top. I've replayed the last mission about twenty times.
I'm really glad you mentioned the Castlevania Advance Collection in this video, because it reminded me to check my local game store's website to see if they had gotten any stock in yet of the LRG release, and sure enough they did and so I was able to grab a copy despite having missed out on the actual direct from LRG order placements.

Awesome to learn the HPC is a Conan fan! For a fun romp I recommend giving the Conan the Barbarian game on PS3/360 a chance. It has a suitably cheesy story, some brutal finishing moves and you collect naked women.
Never seen that Conan book before, looks awesome. I quite like the old comics drawn by John Buscema and Barry Windsor-Smith, their artwork for Conan was magical!
Nicely done guys. I've been playing King's Field 2 (KF3 in Japan) on PS1 and I'm loving it! Fromsoft made some cool games before the Souls series.
I just picked up world of horror after your last video. And the physical comes with so much swag, I love the tarot cards!
Very cool to see Andrew in a New Game Stuff episode! And I can understand Johnny not liking Tales of Symphonia too much. It was my first Tales of game so I have a lot of fondness for it, but over time I've found myself liking other games in the series more. I still really like the game though.

Cool things I picked up recently was Afterimage,Disgaea 7,The Legend of Nayuta Boundless Trails and a few anime box sets I been after. Glad to see Andrew on this video too,seeing you two talking about games reminds me of my best friend and I who have been friends for nearly 30 years,very awesome!
Has anyone heard of the game Void Stranger? It might secretly be the best game of 2023 and almost nobody knows about it.
My wife bought me a Sega Saturn for Christmas as she knew I never had one and wanted one. She bought it with Tomb Raider so I bought some other games for it myself - Athlete Kings (think it's called something different there), Sega Rally Championship, and a game which has quickly become one of my favourite games, possibly ever - Exhumed (think it's called PowerSlave there?). That game is awesome.

Lots of good pickups you got there, I really want to get Robocop soon. Just wishlisted Starfighter and some of those other games (a shame the ones I was interested in weren't on GOG). I recently got Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and got every achievement for it, so much fun I fully recommend it! Also bought System Shocks remake and some indies like Freedom Planet and Ara Fell and Cross Code, Started System shock but haven't tried the others yet so I can't give any opinions other than System shock feels really good.

I'm a shoot them up fan too. I love Macross Super Fortress... Arcade. I now playing on emulator. Vertical shooter I'm better in, side shooter I'm quite weak. Those days, i was collecting comics and Japanese manga. I love drawing comic

Stand outs this month for me was I got hi fi rush, sea of stars, both digitally, I also got hellblade senuas sacrifice for just 3 dollars digital. And I picked up a copy of chameleon twist 2. Tekken 8 also coming in the mail soon
That's awesome that you got sea of stars. I'm waiting on the iam8bit version which is up for preorder now. It comes with a manual, exclusive artwork, a slipcover, stickers and more. I'm definitely getting it for switch and maybe other platforms too. I might it for Xbox series x and ps5. Just to have them. The art style is fantastic. It is still amazing that the messenger is the sequel. The dlc to sea of stars is coming and It is supposed to connect to the messenger some how.
Im tempted to get that too, but ngl I like the standard cover art vs the special editions beige art. Its not that its bad but I like the original more, im so torn between the two!

I’m slowing down on game pickups these days as I just don’t have the time to play that I used to have.
I find myself leaning toward arcade style games as they fit better in my schedule for a quick play. Shoot em ups and beat em ups, single screen arcade games, etc.

Diddy Kong Racing also had some pretty decent looking water for a mid 90s console.
In comparison, Half-Life, a 1998 PC game, had way worse looking water, boy them water displacements sure are broken.

I recently picked up Raiden III and R-Type Final 3. as well as Rock Band 4 and a guitar adapter so I can use one of my older guitars rather than buying a new expensive one. Rock Band got here first though so I started that up, but I'm really looking forward to the shoot 'em up action afterwards.
Happy Sunday, Johnny. Hope you and the family are well. Recently picked up Smash Ultimate (finally lol), a (third party) GameCube controller and a Bowser Wiimote. For Christmas I got myself a Quest 3, upgraded from the original CV1 Oculus Rift and I'm LOVING it thus far. Thinking about pre-ordering FFVII Rebirth (as a hat person who hates GameStop....I need that hat.) Gonna shell-swap my Wii within the next week or so and I've been looking at a transparent Phantom Black color. My youngest and I just completed RE4Remake today and it was fantastic.
I picked up Talos Principle 2 recently and have been having a blast.
