  • Director of Product Development John Romero provides a detailed overview of the CD-7 and CD-7L (logging) racing dash display's features and benefits. The CD-7 has a full color, daylight readable 7" display with 7 RPM/shift lights and two LEDs, four programmable main pages, a dedicated alarm page, unique on-change page and programmable start up page. Data channels are transmitted to the dash through two independent CAN bus inputs, allowing for multiple CAN-based devices to deliver channels. Please visit our website for validated 3rd party devices that the CD-7 will accept!

      Ha!! It does if you program it to say that! We suggest using it for overboost. Seriously though, all text, warnings, alarms, and channels feature fully customizable text that you can enter in almost any language.

    It looks really nice and i plan on getting one. My only criticism is using blue in the shift lights rather than red. I will be taking mine apart to change out those blue for red. Other than that, looks really nice.

    • @blacklineindustries7602
      @blacklineindustries7602 Před 7 lety +7

      The shift light is green/amber/blue for a reason. Most pro-level racers reserve flashing red lights to be indicators for bad things. Well a shift light isn't a bad thing so there's no reason for it to be red. If you do some looking around at very high end color LED shift lights for pro-level racing, you'll see that most if not all are in fact not red.

    • @jackass123455
      @jackass123455 Před 7 lety +1

      except in drag where nearly all the shift lights are red or amber because in drag you don't look at or have time for any other warnings it's just the shift light that's it any other issues are dealt with ecu end and engine protection protocols

    • @AEMpowerTVelectronics

      Thank you Kyle! It will work great with the Infinity, Series 2, EMS-4, and we have 17 validated 3rd party applications it works great with right now, with about 40 more 3rd party devices being validated right now. We want anyone who needs a dash to be able to use the CD-7, regardless of which ECU they are using.

    • @AEMpowerTVelectronics
      @AEMpowerTVelectronics  Před 5 lety

      If the TPMS is transmitted via CAN bus then yes, you can show it. You can show fuel if it is transmitted via CAN, or you can add it using one of our CAN Sensor Modules, either the 6 Channel or 22 Channel version. There is more info on those products here: www.aemelectronics.com/products/cd-digital-dash-displays-adapter-harnesses/aemnet-can-bus-expansion-modules

    • @AEMpowerTVelectronics
      @AEMpowerTVelectronics  Před 4 lety

      You will need to connect the Series2 AEMnet output to the CD-7's AEMnet input. We make cables that makes this easy: www.aemelectronics.com/products/programmable-engine-management-systems/series-2-programmable-ems/series-2-aemnet-adapters. DashDesign software has templates with channels pre-configured for the Series2, so you can display any channels from the ECU on the dash. More info is on our site or contact our support team if you have any other questions! emstech@aemelectronics.com

      HP Tuners is open source for the stock ECU. We have a Plug & Play Adapter cable that sends available CAN channels to the dash via the OBD port, but OBDII CAN is only available on 08-up vehicles. It has a pass-through connector so you can see the channels on the dash even when tuning with HP Tuners connected. The adapter is here: www.aemelectronics.com/products/cd-7-obdii-can-plug-play-adapter-harness
      If your car is not 08-up, then you would need a CAN output for your channels to display on the dash and for this we recommend our 22 Channel CAN Sensor Module. This will allow anyone to install a CD-7 or CD-5 Carbon dash on any vehicle: www.aemelectronics.com/?q=products/30-2212-22-channel-can-sensor-module

      The CD Carbon dashes require inputs from a CAN bus connection, so it will not plug in place of your factory dash. Check out SpeedAcademy's EVO 6 install, where they cover the conversion and what you need, and show the setup in a later video: czcams.com/video/3L0zNVqqIe0/video.html

      @AEMpowerTVelectronics  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Mike, you can install it on a street car, too! If it is 2008-up we make an adapter harness that connects to the OBDII port and transmits all available channels to the dash, and we also make CAN Adapter modules so you can add sensors and features you want and then send them to the dash over AEMnet CAN bus. Check out our website for more info! www.aemelectronics.com/products/cd-digital-dash-displays-adapter-harnesses
