    I been looking into this and other dash solutions and came to the conclusion that I either need to spend the money on a non-haltech all in one or buy the OBD2 adapter for haltech and use a GOOD OBD2 bluetooth reader with an adroid tablet. For the amount of money that we are putting down for the haltech dash it has very dated technology and feel. Would have been amazing in the 90s

    I contacted a Hatch Dealer and he told me to just buy the GM ECM with a Connect and Cruise Cruse Crate motor.. but I like the idea of the Hatch as it has so many user friendly inputs out puts and configurable features.. The Question is many extra items do I have to purchase to make it work as a Flex fuel engine controller.. Looks like the 2500 Model will be needed ..

    • @haltech
      @haltech  Před 5 lety

      It really depends what other features you need - for example if you're going to be racing you might be after some advanced racing features which are only available on Elite 2500. However if Flex Fuel is the only feature that you're after then even Elite 950 will do the job: www.haltech.com/overview-elite-950/

    I read the manual on this .. I must say the Video paints a basic picture what it can do .. Also the Video brought to my attention an engine specific wire set .. That's a good start.. I read how to calibrate it for gear indicator.. Calibrating the MPH was a little vague not sure of all of the values .. I am guessing one value is the distance your tire rolls in one Revolution .. I am not fluent in Australian Engines only USA English
    At this time not every method to set it up is necessary . I just need to know what it can and can not do.. For example I looks like I don't need an oxygen sensor gauge as the IQ-3 can do that .. I noticed two part ##### and only figured out the difference when this video stated the second one has a place for a memory card for Data Logging .. could not figure that out from the 46 page manual that I skimmed....
    Haltch seems to have better info on their web page than other brands have.. The old adage you get what you pay for .. Haltech costs a lot more but has a lot more features too ..

    Scott or should I call you Tuning Fork anyways I've wanted to ask you for the longest time if that would be compatible with my Ford Probe ? I've seen Marty use that in Super Gramps it looks really great in his car . Does the Dung Beetle or Unicorn run that ?

    • @haltech
      @haltech  Před 7 lety +1

      Supergramps and Dung Beetle use the older style IQ3 dash but the new one is exactly the same shape and dimensions - but with added features. If your Probe uses a CAN-based OBDII then IQ3 can be used, otherwise you'll need an aftermarket ecu. See the list here: www.haltech.com/new-iq3-street-dash-is-here/

    What is required to connect one of these to a Microtech LT16 ecu and will it display all the microtech data including microtech sensors ? Thanks

    • @haltech
      @haltech  Před 7 lety

      The IQ3 Street supports the Microtech CAN, and will display up to 20 channels from the ECU (eg. RPM, oil pressure, ethanol content etc). As there is no CAN port to plug directly into on the LT16C, you will need to wire the CAN Hi/CAN Lo wires between ECU and dash, and connect power/ground.

    • @haltech

      The IQ3 Street Display is HT-060102. You can either use a DTM2 plug and add your own wire to the ECU, or order our DTM2 to DTM4 cable (HT-060201).

    • @haltech
      @haltech  Před 6 lety

      There are some spec differences but the main one is that a Haltech IQ3 connects directly to a Haltech ECU whereas a Racepak IQ3 needs an adapter. So if you've got a Haltech ECU then a Haltech IQ3 is a much easier (and cheaper) option.
