I always thought it was a great shame that the F1 controlling body denied Sebastian Loeb an F1 licence on the basis that he didn't have enough racing experience in an acceptable category! It would have been great to see Loeb on the same track as Schumacher.

Lets be hones, That overpowered Citroen was build for Loeb and that Volswagen was build for Ogier. Yes Latvala is still worse than ogier, and Grönholm and Hirvonen had very good changes with the Focus WRC but it still wasn't as good as the Citroen but we are looking overall here. So Finland wins

The funny thing there is that Kankkunen is one Finnish word for hang-over :) There are plenty of those words.

Michèle Mouton la meilleur femme pilote de tout les temps et la seule femme qui fut compétitive au très haut niveau avec peut être Kleinschmidt en rallye raid. Des femmes comme elles c’est plus possible aujourd’hui...

Finnish and French drivers have won at least one race in every decade since the 70s. But they didn't win a Championship in every decade, France didn't win in the 70s and 80s and Finnish drivers didn't win championships in 2010s.

sport lab impreza WRC 2006〜は従来のエンジニアとは別にF1のエンジニア経験者を採用してWRカーを製作。結果的にエアロダイナミクスによる空力やエンジンは向上したのだがアンダーステアの酷いマシンの仕上がりになりコーナーなどでは性能の低さが露呈する事になった。元々のベースがダメなものを弄れば弄るほどおかしくなり以前のようなマシンを製作出来なくなってしまった。

While loeb can drive he isn't the greatest there's been. Alot of his world titles are down to citreon telling his team mates 1st and junior team to let him pass. That doesn't gain greatness to me

Somebody rember a strong opponent for Loeb ? Ok Gronholm, and then ??? nobody else..consider that hirvonen was not a great driver, that gronholm retired in 2007 and ran with the 307 wrc which was the worst car in history, that solberg ran with the subaru that from 2004 onwards has never been competitive .. and that the rest were mediocre drivers like duval, wilson ecc. Better 4 very strong titles that 9 Easy and weak titles. Put Loeb in the 80 or 90 years.. maybe he win an handshake but not for sure 9 titles.

No, because he has found real opponents, Rohrl won the pikes peak on the gravel without electronics beating vatanen, loeb same race on the asphalt with a spaceship against anyone. Evidently he is not so strong. Look Sainz.. 57 years old and win the Dakar 2020.. he win 3 Dakar.. the same was KKK that win Dakar in 1988, for me the best Is kkk but for sure that all drivers of 80 and 90 are Better than loeb, Carlos was the First no scandinavian to win the 1000 lake, he developed Subaru Ford Toyota polo wrc and Peugeot and mini for the Dakar, Loeb drive only for Citroen, with cars full of electronics easier to drive, sainz won with the H gearbox. Its all logical Loeb Is not the best. the 9 titles were clearly won without opponents, the subaru after 2003 was no longer competitive, gronholm retired in 2007 and in 2004/05 he ran with the 307 which is the worst wrc in history .. ogier sent away by Citroen because was a good opponent ..sorry but the rankings don't lie, just look at the top 6 drivers of the rankings of those years, any wrc race from 2005 to 2012 if you find a strong driver and opponent for Loeb let us know. an example ? in the 98 wrc races there were at least 4 or 5 world champions who ran for the victory and the future burns and gronholm champions. in 2008 who was there? who was there ???!!

@@VachicorneOld gronholm retired in 2007 and in 2004 2005 drive the 307 wrc that was a terrible rally car. Only in 2006 2007 he was a good opponent.. and the rest were mediocre drivers. Martin and burns that were very strong drivers retired because sad problems that you know... So from 2008.. no apponents for Loeb. there is a big difference between running for the win against makinen sainz Biasion McRae burns kankkunen auriol 15 wrc Championship and fighting for the win against villagra Duval kresta Wilson rautenback Galli atkinson 0 wrc Championship. Who Is Better Schumacher 7 titles or Senna 3 titles ? for sure most people will say Senna.
Actually. 2006 Grönholm was one point from Loeb. (even tho Loeb did not race 4 last rallies) Well then we have 2007 where he was only 4 points off. Then we had 2009 Where Hirvonen was ONE POINT off, and was actually the more consistent driver out of the two, and he would have won if he didn't suffer hard landing in the last race which caused the bonnet hinge to fail and he lost time and loeb got ahead and won the championship. Then we had 2011 where Hirvonen was only 8 points off and made small mistake in very tricky conditions and had to retire because of engine problems caused by the mistake (started as intercooler problem i think but it made it worse because they kept driving)
So even tho those years were generally pretty boring, it wasn't like Loeb didn't get lucky to be 9 times world champion. Luckily we are living good WRC years again but i'll always be sad that Hirvonen didn't get that one title to his name :(

If in 90s era a super drivers won 10 tittles all these drivers (sainz mcrae makinen etc ) for some guy's like you they will be slow drivers !! if Loeb does mistakes and had only 2 titles, Solberg Gronholm hirvonen would had these 7 tittles and some guus like you would think was more competitive era... Loeb is a legend! He win Gronholm (the driver who win all 90s stars in 00 and 02) with a slower xsara and a new c4 in 07!
about cars, the cars is easier but for all drivers is the same not only for Loeb, always is hard to win

Loeb is nine times world champion because he practically never made mistakes, he was untouchable on asphalt and could win on any terrain. Just ask your heroes of the past who is the best rally driver of all time, I think you will be disappointed with their response ...
