To take out a piglin brute:
Ask its parents for permission
Set a time to pick them up
Take them somewhere nice (mcDs, the bell, etc)
Have them home at a resonable time
Using this method, you should be able to take the brutes out anytime.

I think the best way to handle them is by putting a boat in front of them when they charged into you. Shield might not be a best option because shield somehow can be disabled by axes...

Here are my ideas:
1) Build up on a 3-tall pillar. They can’t hit you and you can hit them. Be careful about piglins with crossbows. Alternatively, build a 3-tall pillar and stand on top. Mine the middle block and replace it with lava, and it will flow out in all directions to kill brutes with maximal efficiency.
2) Make sure you have a block between you and the bed to take no damage if you are using that method.
3) Murder hole. Hide yourself in the floor and dig a little tunnel to see the surface. They will come into the tunnel to get closer to you, and then you can swing.
4) If you really don’t care about preservation, build a tnt duper on top of the bastion and let er rip. Though I feel that would be counterproductive to what you came to the bastion for.

Just never, ever summon that thing on bedrock, especially in the nether. Not a good time.

The best method overall is to drink a invisiblity potion and then not wear any armor, so that they have absolutely no idea you even exist

Using an Invisibility potion allows you to move around without being attacked, and you can open chests without making the Piglins angry, but mining will still make them angry.

Potion of invisibility + lava bucket, as long as you don’t wear any armor the brutes & piglins won’t notice you, this means that you can also safely loot every chest without a worry, and if you take out the brutes with the lava, they won’t even notice your there

Boats: I am the most powerful weapon, I was a legendary weapon in 2b2t, pewdiepie's let's plays, and I can trap enemies eternally
Wattles: I don't even know who you are
You can dig 1x1 pokeholes into the bastion from the outside and hit a piglin inside to agro all of the surrounding piglins and piglin brutes and get them to run to your trap. If you do this multiple times around the bastion, most of the piglins will be cleared out, and you will be able to raid it mostly unimpeded. Just make sure to box yourself in so piglins don't surprise you from behind.
This was the very first method I came up with for clearing bastions once I came across them, and it worked like a charm. I’m very surprised more people don’t do it

A (very expensive) method: Call in some backup. More specifically, a golem. Piglin Brutes are tough, but they're no match for an iron golem. The iron golem has twice as much health as the brutes so they'll last longer and can act as a tank by aggroing the brutes onto themselves (and if you have a bunch of spare iron you can heal them with ingots to keep them going). Or perhaps you could use snow golems to keep them distracted by boxxing the snow golem in and they can draw the aggro of the brutes long enough for you to get in, get the loot, and get out.
An (infinitely worse) idea is sending in a wither. It'll probably be very effective at killing all the piglins, with the drawback being...well...now you have a wither to deal with, which is a lot worse than a few Brutes.
Or if you've got way too much time and redstone on your hands, you can make a redstone machine to kill them all (maybe setting up redstone traps like a tripwire that'll send the piggies falling to their deaths in a pit of lava, or even have it be the start if some kind of Piglin grinder).
The iron golem idea is actually really good. All u need is an iron farm

How to handle piglin brutes
Me an intellectual: dont come near them at all
Me, a minecraft brute: *Take em' on, hand to hand. Use end crystals and beds if you have to.*
An experienced player would figure out how take out brutes when testing before the actual fight, and it will always be lava bucket as an answer.
Coupled up with fire resistance, lava bucket has proved to an effective and safe method of dealing brutes.
I cannot bring myself to fight brutes with a sword, but always with bow/crossbow, but that usually don't work all the time due to the structure of the bastion, they could spot you as soon as you spot them behind the corner. But this is the first time i actually carry a lava bucket just to deal with the brutes, i didn't need lava buckets on vindicator because the mansion is an open area, and could also burn the mansion.
And then the dev intentionally force you into fighting the piglins in the bastion with gilded blackstone at the bottom of chest, and piglin brutes.
So i don't think gold boots is useful here.
Well, it's already an instinct to use lava bucket on brutes.
You also can get them in the overworld, because then they transform in to a zombiefied piglin with a axe. When they are zombiefied they don’t have so much health anymore.
I would definitely recommend a shield.

it will kill you as the player tho
The issue is that zoglins will also target you, and piglin brutes can 4-shot them (zoglins need 10 shots to win)

A common way to get rid of piglin brutes is to use their Argo to have them run into a hole so you can get a chest. Piglin brutes always spawn by chests so be careful when looting a chest. Also never wear gold boots if you have prot netherite. The brutes will do almost quadrupled damage to you. If you want to kill one with a sword, then abuse their short reach by towering up so you can hit them and they can’t hit you. Also a crossbow with piercing can be a huge help for taking out piglin swarms.
You could drop a boat and they'd be stuck in it the other piglins wouldn't aggro

In my opinion, the best way to deal with piglin brutes is to tower up 3 - 4 blocks high, and kill them with your sword or throw a anvil on their heads
Or just dump lava from the pillar

Piglin brutes are Piglins that hold Golden Axes, Wear a Suit, and Know that you think they’re Ugly, and it Insta-Aggros them.
They also have more heart and damage than the normal piglin
i thought bastions where really dangerous bc i have seen a lot dying from it but with these methods (lava bucket strat) i didnt even aggravate a single piglin while killing them with this strat . only bad thing is that u have to get close to piglin brute to put the lava down and sometimes you can burn your self while doing this but if you have fire protection its fine .

A good way to take the Brutes out with out angering the piglins is to hide in a spot on high ground and place lava through a hole. They will be fried up and dead in no time

You can use TNT and not aggro the other piglins. Rather than using a flint & steel, use a button on a block directly touching the TNT. The game doesn't track aggro if you use that.
What if you just spleefed them off with trapdoors on a 1 block bridge. Like lure them all towards the bridge and open the trapdoor(s)

Just like the zombie piglin farm from your survival let's play, you could create a trap hole in the ground with trapdoors open at the top. Then, you can simply lure them to the holes, jump over, and then close it off once you've gotten them all.
You could even blow up the lot of them if you preface this all by putting a bed at the bottom of the hole.
I would massively suggest wearing a gold helmet and no other type of gold armor as it has the least armor loss. (Only 4%!) while boots have a huge 8% loss. Use helmet.
I don't ever wear gold armour in the nether, not even in bastion. Becoz I'm alwaYS in full prot 4 nether it's armour and have a high chance of dYing.

Honestly there's no reason to wear gold in the nether again, because if you attack them all Piglins attack.

Trap and encase. They’re one time spawns after all from my understanding.
Trap them with a boat, encase them in blocks, voila! No gold axes and a possible addition to your special mob collection. 😁

A good way of taking care of brutes if you have an iron farm are golems. They will attack all piglins while u steal the loot

Iron golems need a 3 block wide path. Don't get that often in a bastion, But still, pro level move.

This is now obsolete because in order to get netherite stuff, you need a smithing template which is in the bastion. It got a whole lot more difficult.

The best way to use the lava bucket is to build up about 2 or 3 blocks so the brutes can't reach you and you can place the lava bucket at the bottom of pillar you just made

Or maybe run through the entire bastion and let the brutes follow you then take em out with trapdoor trick or stick 'em in boats
Two things... First make sure you have an escape path with a 1-wide hall that is 3 blocks tall. Dig a 2 deep hole in it and put an open trapdoor over it. Run away from brutes and jump over the hole. Second, build a beacon if you have the materials. Use scaffolding and dig up till you hit the bedrock ceiling which is transparent for the beacon. With just 1 small beacon you can get Jumping 1 which will let you jump over fences. Then you can block off any area and any hallway with fences and jump right over and dump lava on the brutes from the other side. Regeneration will help if you get hit for any reason so you don't have to eat so often. More beacons would help of course...
One of the things I do to save myself from most hostiles in the nether are 2 things, either a bow or a boat.
Endermen killed me twice in hardcore, learned to trap them with boats. As well as piglin brutes but I never died to a brute.
Ghasts, I died like 3 times, always have a bow, you can get string easily by trading with piglins.
i would just bring some invisibility potions and drink it.
Not so sure until I test that. In impulsesv's attempts at invisibility with raids, if they get too close they see you, invisible or not.
The most OP way to raid a bastion (Unless you want the gold blocks) is with invisibility potions.
They can hear your footsteps if you get close but if you go invisible and sneak and hold nothing in your hands, this range should be only about 2-3 blocks.
do soul torches and campfires work on piglin brutes? cause honestly if it does, its the easiest and safest idea.just place one down, and flint and steel them

Another way is actually after hitting one and killing it, if a piglin sees you, just block yourself in and the pigskins (that auto-correct is funny so I’m keeping it piglin - pigskin.) forget about you. Pretty easy if u have lots of blocks from mining, and a source of blackstone and netherrack.

You can also use a boat to make them sit down and then finish em with the good ol’ lava bucket!
You could dig out a big hole, put in trapdoors, and hit one to herd them in. Like Wattle's starter pigman farm, but bigger!

Build a 2x1 pillar under your feet, look at the brutes come at you, kill them

I think you forgot two other better options. First of all, I think generally piglins and piglin brutes are afraid of soulfire, that can be used in our advantage. Second, if you still remember, there is a potion of invisibility, you can drink it and also you it in your advantage, do you really think opening chests while invisible won't agro any piglins????
piglin brutes do NOT retreat from soulfire. Aggroed piglins do not retreat either. You are wrong.
potions of invisibility do allow the player to open chests without aggavating the piglins.
Well it would be better if Minecraft would make me right, potion of invincibility should have a strong benefit like this.
I've been playing awhile, but by no means a master. I've cleared 4 strong holds in the nether so far, was looking for another when I came across this. " I have fully upgraded diamond armor, I should be good !" My diamond sword wasn't jacked but had perks. Within 2 seconds one of the brutes was after me, and before i knew I was DEAD! Crazy, when you think you can hold your own to then get your bum handed to you. So my new goal is to take this over!

get in the boats
Really easy way to deal with a hoard of piglins after mining into a bastion with a friend and they manage to aggro every single piglin, brute and regular, in the structure by mining some gilded blackstone:
1.) Open up a one block hole into the chamber where they’re ammasing in their literal army.
2.) Start swinging with a sword until the entire army is dead.
Only downside is that the piglins with crossbows might get a few shots in.
I speak from experience. It was not fun to begin with seeing them all charge towards us as we ran back into our tunnel.
Ofc, just legging it out of there is also a viable option.
Shield, powerful netherite sword/axe, powerful netherite armour a few totems of undying potion of strength (for yourself) a bow/crossbow trident
Pretty expensive but worth it
Normal Brain: Using weapons
Big Brain: Using Potions such as Invisible to sneak inside the bastion undetected
Planetary Brain: Spawning multiple withers inside the bastion
Galaxy Brain: Building World eaters above the bastion and bombing it with TNT.
I just hope they would never make their way in Minecraft even if they would drop gold bars or ancient debris

I went to the nether with a full iron armour (with gold helmet) in my hardcore world. I was instantly greeted by a ghast. then I realised that I was right next to a bastion. the brutes started chasing me and killed me even when I had my shield on.
