Army Painting: Hive Fleet Behemoth Made Easy! [How I Paint Things]

- The first major Tyranid fleet encountered by the Imperium, Hive Fleet Behemoth are about as old-school as you get when it comes to these awful gribblies. Painting them is a little more involved than other white-leading Hive Fleets like Leviathan, for example, but not so much more so than makes them difficult. If you like red, well... there's not really another choice, is there?!

I'm not even collecting Tyranids, let alone painting them, but I've watched every single vid so far. These are just so damn enjoyable to watch!
Beautifully painted. I think the only thing I would have done differently is use Flesh Tearers Red, followed by a shade of Carroburg Crimson.
This is definitely one of my favourites from you. Great job as always mate.
These new Tyranids seem to be a dry brushers dream.
Nice job!
Glad you been cracking the brood clans of the tyranids my friend.
Oh man this sealed it for me. I'm painting my Nids like this. I absolutely love the carapace
Loving these tyranid guides, im still undecided on how i want to paint them ^^
Only just getting into 40k and discovered the Behemoth hive fleet colour scheme. This is THE BEST tutorial, so excited! Thank you :D
Brilliant, I particularly love the fact that you used a light caucasian skin tone type paint to highlight the red. As you say, it really works as a highlight for this kind of alien muscle.
I followed your tutorial for the Commissar last year for when I dipped my toe into Imperial Guard. Now that I’ve been hit in the face with a truck’s worth of plastic alien greebles, I’m definitely gonna follow along with this guide too! Sickety sick sick!
Awesome, this kind of finish is exactly what I'm looking for my basic troops. I'd go insane painting dozens of Termagants to a display-level finish.
great video I'm trying to decide what to paint my nids think I'm going to try anphelion project
Great tutorial as ever Troy. Thank you for consistently putting out such great content that is easy to follow. Your show has improved my painting more in the last two years than 40 years of painting on my own did!
Cheers! I'm sure a few years of practice moving the brush around might have helped on your part, too! 😜
Absolutely fantastic results on this guy!!
Thanks for posting this. Just got two leviathan boxes worth of nids... To add to my 2k+ painted behemoth Gribblies and monsters
Ah the Tyranid's love them nice colours may use that on my one's
Thank you , Troy .
🐺 Loupis Canis .
Amazing work as always, Sonic! I'm looking forward to more gribblies! I'd love to see your take on a xenomorph scheme on one of these termies.
This is great! Only issue is im finding blood angels red contrast much darker than the example, looks good but not sure if the colour has changed recently.
Excellent work! Was wondering if you would ever plan on painting some Victory at Sea stuff from warlord. Loved your Bolt Action stuff, so I bet your videos on Victory at Sea would be smashing as well.
Do you think you could have a go at the new Hive Fleet Typhon at some point? 😮
Typhon are one of those Hive Fleets where, when someone asks me how I'd paint them, the honest answer is "I wouldn't." 😅 There's too many transitions of colour from one area to the next for my taste; they look like way more work than I could make *look* simple.
They are ugly litter critters but the paint scheme looks great! I especially like the blue effect on the carapace. Thanks for sharing this.
Ugly is the word! I really like Caledor Sky, myself. Gotta find something a little nicer I can put it on... 😂
b u g s !
Today's episode is sponsored by "what have you"
I'd love to see Kronos next
sad Kraken Noises
I've done Kraken *years* ago, and quite honestly? I wouldn't change a thing about how I painted them then to now. 😅
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio ah, found it. For me deciding a color scheme for 100+ Minis is harder than painting them.😂🙈
Perfect space crab 🦀
hey what's your opinion for drybrushing and using a texture palette instead of a paper towel?
Do you think flesh tearers red will work in place of blood angels red?
Just one question.
Am I painting a hoard army?
There exists a very distinct possibility!
Is there a hive fleet with yellow/green oder yellow and black?
Possibly? There's no reason you couldn't paint your own either way.
