This is the best termagant i have ever seen, can't wait for other hive fleets
Thank you buddy, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@@jwminiaturesHow did you do this perfect blue lines on carapace? I tried and this is unreal
Its just done to practice. There are a few things you can do the help, having a good brace position, either elbows on the desk and hands together or wrist on the desk. Another one, is positioning the model so I always pulling the line towards towards myself. This way I only have to move the brush along one plane
Bollocks to the trolls. Just keep doing what you do. Those of us that enjoy your content will be along for the ride.
This is such beautiful work, and a pleasure to watch it come together. Thank you!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow! Awesome work!👍🏽
Thank you very much
incredible tutorial! great skills you can apply anywhere
Thank you mate, glad you liked it!
Thanks you! This video is very helpful.
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful!
This is great. Thank you
No worries mate, glad you enjoyed it!
Quality stuff as usual, I really hope this channel blows up! I was wondering, where can I get a hold of a painting handle like the one you have? Thanks.
Thank you mate, who knows maybe one day lol. I use the Rathcore miniature holder v3 and miniature grip v3 with either a 50mm, 70mm or 90mm bow, I get mine from elementgames.co.uk/paints-hobby-and-scenery/rathcore?d=10816
I really like your paint scheme (I used your kraken tutorial for my nids) and how you paint. If possible can you do a tutorial for hive fleet ouroboros? It's rare and not alot of people do this hive fleet. great job as alway.
Great to hear, how did yours turn out? That is a lesser known one, I had to google that one. It may be something I tackle in the future but I got a few other videos in the works atm
nice video thx you
No worries mate, glad you enjoyed it!
Damnit, i had watched your Kraken tutorial and thought "thats the one for me, im doing that", then you go and release this one. Now I dont know what to do for my nids, Kraken or Behemoth!?!? LOL...great tutorial and thanks.
Hahaha if it makes you feel any better every time I paint one of these I rethink my direction for the rest of the army but I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Would love to see your take on Hive Fleet Lotann or Hive Fleet Tiamet!
I could maybe look at those in the future, got a few other videos in the works atm but I'm glad you are enjoying them
@@jwminiatures love your stuff regardless! Keep up the awesome work.
Hey, I'm planning to paint my fleet using your tutorial (it's great) and I was wondering about painting the vents/joins.
Do you think green would draw to much attention on vents?
Great to hear, I look forward to seeing them.
Green vents would probably look fine, natural complement to the red. It might take a bit of experimenting to find the right colour. Maybe a darker green with some Sotek Green highlights would be cool, keeps everything integrated.
Behemoth behemoth behemoth!!!
I have my speed paint for gaunt but will try this on bigger models
Very cool, I look forward to seeing how you incorporate this into your bigger nids!
What brush is that? Amazing work!
Cheers mate. I use mainly Artis Opus brushes for most of my pieces, I was mainly using a series S size 2 in this video
👍👍
What an amazing paint job.
Can this be done with a black base coat? I have some older minis that’re already based coated black.
Thank you mate. Yeah it should work over black, it will take longer to establish the base and the reds might appear less intense because of the darker foundation
Do you have a painted model like a gargoyle or winged hive tyrant? Curious to see your take on their wings. @@jwminiatures
Hive Fleet Tiamet tutorial needed before I start my Levithan Box please
Could be one for the future, I have a couple of other videos in flight atm
When you're all done, do you use a varnish?
Its optional. If you are going to be handling it and playing games I would recommend using your varnish of choice
Just wondering why do two stages of a khorne red wash instead of a solid khorne red basecoat (two thin coats ofc)?
Thats a good question. The reason for using the washes is because more of the pigment will collect in the recesses while leaving the arms and raised areas a bit lighter. It's a similar idea to using contrast
@jwminiatures related question would you use contrast medium or glaze to thin the red?
I just use water but pick whichever one you are most comfortable with as they all have slightly different properties.
Could you use black primer? What would that change
If you use black primer the red will not be as bright or saturated, so overall the scheme will be duller
@@jwminiatures got the paints today! I’ll let you know how it looks, I’m testing on black, white, and gray and seeing what I prefer! I was curious on what you would use for a brain of one of the physic nids! I want to do a kore human type brain but don’t exactly know which colors would be best!
*more
I would do something similar to how I did the tubing and tongue on this model. I might add in some red, purple and blue glazes to areas just to make it a bit more exciting
