Kindness rules. and so does Steve Hartman. I often share these stories with my students on a weekly segment called Wake Up To Kindness. I share something connected to positivity, kindness, and service. Just trying to combat all of the negativity in the world they face. CBS Sunday Morning is frequently the source of the things I share with them.
Please continue to do this, every week. Use Steve’s series on empathy, patriotism, compassion, service, etc. What an amazing teaching tool for kids and adults from upper elementary to adults.

I am very proud to be an American, and I will never take our flag for granted. When I look up at the flag blowing in the wind or just standing on the pole, I will think of Finn, the neighbor who built the stool for him to sit on, and all Americans, and how we should be united in kindness and love toward one another. Finn's story reminds us that we need to stop all this hate and division, and focus on smiling and keeping the faith. By focusing on the positive things in life and not taking them for granted, we can truly see the beauty of America. I hope President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris meet this young boy. They would absolutely love him and his sense of patriotism for our country! As our President Joe Biden would say, "God love ya, Finn!"

In hard times like these, this gives me extremely high amounts of hope, I'm currently crying so much in happiness, there's covid, there's the controversies against president Trump, people dying, riots, looters, the world is on fire... And this was months ago, but god bless this entire neighborhood, god bless the good people in this country, the men and women who fought and died to keep her safe, god bless you all, and I'm proud to be an American 🇺🇲
