  • HMS Diamond has shot down a drone suspected of targeting a merchant ship in the Red Sea using a Sea Viper missile. This is the first time the missile, which travels at three times the speed of sound, has been used in combat by the Navy. The Ministry of Defense revealed that HMS Diamond 'successfully destroyed' the target using its Sea Viper/PAAMS system.

    No cost- benefit analysis had led to such a disproportionate response with missile.🤣

      You haven't got much choice when a nearly 2 million pound missile is your only viable weapon on board. Had useful idiot globalist Cameron's government not cancelled the Type 45's RADAR guided 4.5 inch gun smart airburst project - which could have been dealing with these drone threats cheaply with a replenishable-at-sea asset. We wouldn't be having this discussion.

    Drone cost vs. missile cost? what do you think?

      Broadly irrelevant, because the cost if the drone hits civilian shipping is orders of magnitude worse

    It all comes down to numbers. How many anti missile does UK have and how many anti ship missiles the Houthis have.

      The Houtis have succeded in making the Red Sea a War Zone. No insurer will insure ships going inside a war zone, and no ship owner sill send their ship into war zone without insurance.

    • @itch4travel
      @itch4travel Před 5 měsíci

      Why is UK energy so expensive now?
      It's all because of the way the UK's energy system works. Although renewable energy accounted for almost half (45.5%) of the UK's total energy generation in the first three months of this year, we still rely on gas-powered plants to generate some of our electricity. And that's where the pricing issues come from.Nov 27, 2023
