    Word of warning! my passenger side upper control arm bolts were absolutely seized in place. Had to cut them out and replace them. Oreilly auto part number 86375. $40 a pair vs $31 each from GM. Worked perfectly!

    Hi there , better to remove the Shocks , so the Bolts can come out easily , and
    the Brake line should be opened to facilitate the take out of the bolt of the right
    side bolts , but you did it anyway , very good .
    And your car needs ANTI RUST treatment , a good thick layer of Grease anti rust .

    What upper control arm nits and adjustment cams you use? Just went to get my alignment done and guy said he couldn’t do the full alignment due to upper control arm won’t move up and down to adjust and that I have to replace it by torching bolt off or sawing it off cause it’s all locked up. Have the 08 Hummer H3

    • @NewRoad
      @NewRoad  Před 4 lety

      I used original one, didn't have to change it. I had problem with old bushings moving too much and guy couldn't do alignment.

    At 2:07 I noticed the rubber guard is stapled to the plastic fender liner. Is that oem? I noticed mine were stapled too..

    Question! Is the instal/removal the same for both sides? GM keeps telling me that 'it takes special equipment' and whatnot else, and its come time that I need to do ball joints upper and lower for both sides. I'm thinking if I can get away with waiting until spring I can do this job myself rather than spend ridiculous money at the shop.
    Thanks!

      Same on both sides. They only thing you may want to do after is alignment

    How do you like those shocks? The remote res bilstiens look awesome. I can’t decide.

    • @NewRoad
      @NewRoad  Před 4 lety

      I like Fox shocks, less bouncy and provide a bit more control. I don't have experience with Bilsteins - but I know many H3 owners run and like them

    Why do the control arms need replacing? Do the bushings wear out? Can't you just do bushing install?

    • @NewRoad
      @NewRoad  Před rokem

      It is either bushing wear off or ball joint bad - but you are right, you can just replace those parts without replacing the whole arm. I didn't have press to remove and install new bushing

    How will you know when to replace a upper control arm?

    • @NewRoad
      @NewRoad  Před 4 lety +1

      Bushings wear, bad ball joint or bent arm. In my case, my shop couldn't do wheel alignment because my old bushings had too much movement.

  • @rlightjr
    @rlightjr Před 4 lety +1

    Which upper control arm did you go with?

    • @NewRoad
      @NewRoad  Před 4 lety +1

      I got OEM ACDelco from rockauto. I always trying to use OEM parts unless it is cosmetic stuff or parts are not available.

    • @rlightjr
      @rlightjr Před 4 lety

      Thanks. My alignment guy at tire kingdom couldn’t do upper control arm alignment saying because cam bolts were welded together and can’t adjust it. He said rubber on upper control arm is wearing out and said need to replace that and get universal cam kit (alignment kit) for the upper control arm. He told me to get the moog grease alignment kit instead of the OEM ones that don’t grease.
