Matt... You have the greatest job in the world! 🤣 Love picking my day up with videos from the Meat Church and you always make me look like a superstar when I cook for my family! Thank you so much.
I followed this recipe yesterday and blew everyone away. Thanks for the great info!
Used the Bird Baptism brine and Honey Hog rub and this was the best Turkey I’ve ever had! I can’t stop eating it and I am stuffed. Great videos and products! I will definitely be trying more of your products.
You need to do more videos from the Meat Church! Love the products (Bribes, Injections nd Rubs) they are now the primary items in my cooking arsenal.
Matt, great video! I'm ready for Turkey day. Keep these great videos coming.
G love is one of my favorite artists. Love the tunes in the background!
Love the G-Love intro. Wish I had your setup. Nice video.
Meat Church ROCKS..
Hello from South Texas
Love your channel! Thanks for the tips Matt! ❤
Awesome video man. Glad to see you here.
Doing my first Brined and Smoked Turkey for Christmas! Don't let me down Matt!
ordered the Brine and have the Honey Hog doing the turkey in the morning of thanksgiving and a prime rib in the afternoon ! FIRE ! Thanks MATT!
1. Good looking bird.
2. Everyone complaining that it’s a “YETI commercial.” Well......yea. He’s clearly sponsored by them. What you guys want him to do, not make a living?! Good grief.
3. This is the 1st video of yours I’ve ever seen. Do you have a video of simply showcasing your outdoor kitchen? That is a sweet setup you have and I’m actually looking for ideas/inspiration on my upcoming build for 2019.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
LOVE IT !! I've been watching this a few times!! Already have my turkey in it's Bird Bath Brine !! Not in a Yeti...baby steps for me for now :) Can't wait until tomorrow ! Which reminds me, time to order more of your rubs :)
Amazing video!!!! Thanks for the tips!
You’re livin the dream. Good for you. Excellent stuff!!
Ohhhh thank you for this!! Will be making it this way for Thanksgiving!!!
Love the video! Can you tell me what cutting board that cut tree is and also I have seen a table in this video and others that looks like a boos block table can you also tell me what the name or brand of that is as well I’m looking to purchase those they are great looking. Subscribed man awesome content about to use this on Thursday for a cook.
Love ur products Matt, have almost all
Of them!
Thank you!
Me and my family will be trying the Brine and Honey hog seasoning on our Turkey for Thanksgiving this year. Great video!
That bird looks so good. May use this brine for my Thanksgiving Turkey. Keep smoking!
Good morning. I'm glad you popped up on CZcams, I just subscribe to your channel
Love your stuff. Nice shirt
Can you also use that brine as a injection also ? I love all of your products especially that new suga rub!
Hi Matt! Awesome stgrill area bro. Followed the link from your instagram overhere. Good stuff
My two favorite grilling channels!
love the video got a traeger pro 22 2 days ago, planning on doing a 20 lb bird for thanksgiving. Was wondering if I need to brine if I am going to inject Tony Chacheres injectable butter kit all over the turkey?
I know this video is 2yrs old but I did a trial run this weekend before thanksgiving on my Traeger and Oh My it was delicious, the family loved it! Thank You Matt!
What was your temp, weight and cook time? His time for a 12 lb bird seemed a little short. I’m doing my 1st on tomorrow
@@jcreel157 mine was a 20lb bird I did at 275-290 degrees and it took about 3.5 hrs Brined for 24 hrs. turned out amazing. Im doing another one tomorrow as well. Good Luck!
@@woodyssawshop266 excellent thank you. Mine’s 13 lbs so I’m hoping for 3 hrs. Happy thanksgiving
@@jcreel157 Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Shoot for internal temp 165, I used two sticks of melted butter on mine. Matt from Meet church is spot On with!
@@woodyssawshop266 always. Just trying to roughly time it out.
Nice looking bird!
Trying this for this Thanksgiving, may the force be with me
How was it? :-)

CHEERS BUD
Been following your channel quite a bit Matt. Up here in central NC. We smoking quite a bit here. Of course a lot of eastern NC bbq here and it’s awesome. I’m adding a Kansas City/Texas flare to what I’m doing here. People digging it! Live what you’re doing there bro!
great video. i could tell the "that's unbelievable" came from the heart. trying not to salivate on the keyboard
Dammit man that’s a sweet set up ya got there 👍
Awesome video brother amen amen I am a part of the meat church family I have subscribed to your Channel preach preach. Keep smoking TNT BBQ with a Southern explosive taste
Very informative 👏
5 gallon buckets labeled as food safe are great and absolutely safe for brining meat. In fact, Yetis use the same type of plastic (HDPE) as the cheaper 5 gallon buckets. It’s unfortunate you had to say something like that about a practical and inexpensive product just to peddle something for Yeti.
$6 vs $40. Going to Home Depot or Lowe’s is just smarter.
Agreed 100%. As if anyone would simply by a bucket from Lowe's or Home Depot, bring it home and NOT wash it thoroughly first.....SMH.
Why in the world have you not made many more videos like this one?
Hey Matt,
Do you get any metal taste when leaving the butter in that cast iron container to melt when your basting that turkey?
Matt! I guess the bucket is no longer manufactured by Yeti? Can't find it on their site. Seems to be huge.
Love the Meat Church products !!
Need more videos!
sponsored by YETI and Banner Butter lol
What if we dont have access to a commercial turkey brine? Any tips for integrating your rubs into a homemade brine?
What size Yeti Tank did you use?
Can I use this seasoning for a deep fried turkey?
Question. What brand of griddle do you have built in?
What's n the brine??looks great!
Oh yeah!
I bought a frozen turkey to trial run on the smoker prior to Thanksgiving. I wasn’t paying attention to the fact that they added 8% solution to it already. Can it still be brined beyond what’s already been pre done from the company? Don’t want it too salty.
Am I able to the the same thing but deep frying it ik instead of smoking it
Well I know how I making Turkey this thanksgiving. Wow
Would a regular tin pot work to store in overnight in a fridge? I’m gonna do a 9.75 pound Turkey breast.
G Love and Special Sauce. Nice.
How can I take a class with you guys?? I want to steal some knowledge lol
Hey Matt I'm going to do a 20 lb. bird following your instructions here. How long should i anticipate cook time? Should i bump up the temp since it's so large? Thx!
make sure it is at 165 degrees
Awesome video. Can we get a video tour of your outdoor fire kitchen?
I post them on IG from time to time (@MeatChurch). I'll also try to work on in our next video which we are producing now.
I enjoy your videos and rubs. Just 2 comments, a 5 gallon utility bucket is just fine if you use a food safe liner. My second comment is a question. Why did you choose to not spatchcock? I've smoked turkeys for years and get a much better cook with a spatchcocked bird.
how long do you rest
that is a great looking bird
Thank you so much!
Been a few years since this video, but was wondering. You used a fresh turkey that had not already been injected or brined in some turkey broth / salt solution, correct? Have you ever brined a frozen one that has been in an 8 or 9% solution?
I've read if it came in a brine solution to only brine it for 15 minutes per pound.
Could I do this on a pellet smoker?
Looks great. Would like to try this. What would be the cook time in for a 20lb bird?
4ish hours
Smoking a turkeys this year. Found my recipe
In the video you only sat it in the brine for 24 hrs.. Can I go 48hrs without it being an issue?
Thanks man everyone smoking a turkey was saying 6hrs mine takes about 3 hrs or so. An I use an electric smoker. Is the 6 hour smoke for indirect heat?
Most likely at 225 degs from other videos I've seen
I ordered the stuff and did my turkey like this but stuffed it with apples the honey hog is the ticket for a lot of stuff , I also did the filling close to this way and it was killer
Awesome!
@@MeatChurchBBQ Is that tank the 45 or 85?
What's that small, black container with the metallic Meat Church print on it?!?!?!?!
Any recommendations on where to get our Turkeys this year?
I'd suggest finding a local farmer.
How long to let it soak in the brine
What are the model names of the yeti cylinder containers used to brine the bird? Found the 1 gallon jug but can’t find coolers that hold the food on their site.
It's the yeti load out bucket. Lid sold separately.
drink every time he says "Yeti"
how to get the skin crispy?
Temperature to cook at?
What size yeti tank is that
I want to do it this way. My wife insists on stuffing the turkey. Would that change anything? Make it take longer to cook?
Make your turkey stuffing and bake it separately.
When I smoke a turkey I usually try to stay small, but my Mom gave me a turkey to smoke for the family that is too big (19.5 lbs). Any tips for smoking such a large turkey without drying out? Should I try wrapping in foil or butcher paper?
How did that 19.5lb bird come out?
How did it come out ??
What temp did you smoke the turkey at? Do you know the time per pound?
275
Did you pay G Love and Special Sauce royalties for the use of their song "The things that i used to do"?
Oh man I always inject my turkey after brineing still looks good
Was that G Love and Special Sauce when he poured the ice around the bucket?!?
yeti inexpensive. That's an oxymoron.
@Matt Thacker You can get food grade 6 gallon buckets for less then $10 at almost any homebrew store.
@@Benhojka homebrew store? Lol ya bc there’s tons of those around 🤣🤣
@@Travis2L They're actually pretty common also restaurant supply stores.
I was just about to say the same thing
Looks like a fancy 5 gallon bucket to me
I use a new unsented trash can bag, and set the turkey and brine down into a 5 gal bucket I leave it 2 to 3 days in a cold place
The Yeti product placement is incredible!
G LOVE & THE SPECIAL SAUCE
Thermapen is great, but why not just leave a meat thermometer in for the whole cook?
Is the brine available at academy like the rubs?
Academy has it listed as a NEW item... so, YES.
G love
Very few videos from Meat Church.... end of 2020.
Bro I've used a lowes bucket for years lol. No issues
As long as it's food safe a container it works. the cheapest ones at Lowe's & HD are not so you just have to look for the ones that are....
Any advice on smoking a 24lb turkey on a pellet grill? Time and temp?
I'm doing mine now. Plan on treating it like an oven....1 hour per 5lbs. Checking temp after 2 to 3 hours though
@@jareddedini4511 so 350 to 375 temp?
275 is what the recipe says
Can you inject it?
There is no way that cook time was about 3 hours at 275
Great video man. To bad there’s a ton a cry babies in the comments. If you guys don’t have or want to buy a yeti, then don’t? He’s obviously sponsored by them, so he’s using their products. Keep doing you man and hope to see more of your videos!
Thanks for clarifying that for everyone in the comments section, without which, there would be no channel.
Love my Yeti’s!
What makes it food safe compared to. 5 gallon from Lowe’s?
Apparently, because it ain't Yeti...
the chemicals the bucket is made with. plastic will leach chemicals into the brine. If it is not food safe, you may be poisoning yourself.
Home depot has food safe white buckets too for about $10. You can get screw on lids as well that are food safe
You had me as a subscriber with the Texas flag, but you secured it with telling your family they have 😂’deez nuts’😂 in their mouth
Who made that glaze? I want to try some.
www.texaspepperjelly.com/rib-candy/
Matt, how much kick does the habanero rub add to the turkey. Have kids that don't love too much spice. I know sometimes the spice cooks off. Other times it still has some heat. If this is still punchy in terms of spiciness, is there another of the rib candies you would recommend as an alternative that is more mild?
We used our Honey Hog rub. No hab. The hab comes from the optional glaze only. TPJ has several rub candies that you can choose from though.
can you use your brine for a roasted turkey also?
Yes
weird question.... what cotton gloves do you wear under your latex gloves?
knit gloves from Harbor Freight. Really inexpensive.
BBQ bacon rub is the truth!
is that pepper jelly candy stuff hot ??? you said it has habanero ?
It’s great, not too hot at all.
